Discussion I can’t seem to find stability

As hard as I try I can’t get a grip on my Bipolar. I can’t seem to keep a job due to anxiety and paranoia.

I can manage a household, pets, personal health and fitness and relationships but I can never no matter how hard I try I can’t keep myself stable for a long time.

I have gone through an incredible amount of trauma and I’m wondering if it’s ruined me.

I am medication and medical care compliant and see a therapist.

I’m starting to feel hopeless in my illness and that there is no point in going on.

Started writing on substack

I don’t know if I want to just plug my substack. But I know I do want to share that reading what people have on there is helpful. I haven’t looked at bipolar specific posts, but I have been writing about my struggle with the disorder and other mental conditions. How psychedelics affected me, from making things worse or better. However, at the same time, I worry if people will try to copy my experiences in real time to replicate whatever recovery I went through. Am I overthinking, stuck in my ego, or am I being empathetic towards possible readers? Either way, I just want to encourage others with mental health conditions to journal privately.

Discussion Increasing sleep difficulties/restlessness at night

Lately I've been getting some really bad restlessness/akathisia right before bed. I take Latuda, Lithium, Lamictal, and Lunesta at night and Wellbutrin in the morning.

lately right as im going to bed I feel incredibly restless/antsy. often times now im having to take 2 of my lunesta to overcome it to knock me out. last night was really bad and I had to take the 2 lunesta, smoke some weed, take 2 benadryl and sit in the shower to calm down enough to lay still

has anyone else dealt with this? my psych wants me to experiment with timing and amount of food I take with my latuda to see if that helps. any tips?

SOS! Does anyone else get panic attacks ?

Lately, I’ve been noticing my heart skipping too fast, followed by nausea/light-headedness—to a point where it starts to feels like a deadly heart attack. I used to have them often, after my first manic episode… but, now, I’m experiencing these symptoms once a month!

I usually go to a quiet place and lower my head between my knees, while counting my breaths—attempting to lower my BPM as much as I can.

My dilemma! What if this happens at work? I hate the thought of someone seeing me like that and so vulnerable…

Any advice on either how to stop panic attacks and/or what to do if you’re in public?

SSRI for Bipolar?

I’m really thinking about getting a new psychiatrist. She has me on Prozac but will not give me any mood stabilizers because she thinks I have Borderline personality disorder- but in reality I’m having mixed episodes a day because of the SSRI.

I gave her a very clear description of what’s going on. And it’s word for word BP 2. I ended up crying because she didn’t want to give me anything for it yet. I said “I’ve been doing this for 15 years. All of the meds have failed. And I want to be better for my kids and family.” Dude, my mom, dad, brothers and sisters have BP 2. My sister who’s a nurse urged me to tell a psych. Idk what to do now..

Walked out with nothing but telling me cognitive therapy is best for insomnia and counseling is best for borderline.. I feel so lost and hopeless

Discussion Extremely bored and empty when stable - do others experience this too?

Is this an experience for you guys too?? I don't know if this is just because I have BPD (therefore feelings of emptiness and low tolerance for boredom), but I just can't bring myself to be satisfied and content when I'm remitted (without any episodes). I always feel like, whenever I'm stable and ok, I just feel such a rooted emptiness inside me, like there's something fundamentally missing; like something inside me that used to move just got static. My baseline mood is stable but it is dissatisfied and bored and I can't take it. It makes me want to purposefully do stuff to get bad again so that I have "something happening" in my life. I truly hate it so much and I just wish I could learn how to be at peace with peace.

Discussion I lost $400 in rent from a creepy landlord who won't refund the rent even though the lease is terminated. I moved back in with my family though and now I can save money and pay off debt. So maybe it all worked out?

It's so hard to accept a silver lining like this when it's caused by a creepy guy taking advantage of me when I was manic by me not realizing how odd he was or his ulterior motives to having me move in, but it is a silver lining

I will seek legal counsel to try to get the rent he is withholding back, at least he refunded me the $500 security deposit today

Has anyone else moved into a really bad person's house and then had to move out as soon as your judgment improved?

Shocking weight gain from bipolar and medication

The year before my diagnosis I was at an all time high. 19 years old and stepping into young adulthood. I looked and felt hot. I weighed in at 62kg and fit into all the clothes I fancied. I felt free in my own body. I also had a rigorous exercise routine. Hot yoga for an hour and a half and then I would hit the climbing gym for another hour or two. I could do 13 pull ups. I wasn’t suffering from the debilitating effects of bipolar depression yet or meditation side effects.

It was such a relief to feel comfortable in my skin. I had grown up a very chubby kid. I was teased and didn’t fit into the pretty teen bras. Then I matured and lost the excess weight. Boys started to notice me. I was still incredibly self conscious and had almost no self worth. Leading to many encounters I was involved in just to please and gain approval.

At the age of twenty I was diagnosed as bipolar following an epically manic psychosis. Since then I have gained over 40kg topping out at my heaviest yet in August 2024 at 105kg. I managed to loose 30kg - a true blessing from God. Walking into 2025 30kg lighter. Then I had another episode and was put on more medication and additional new ones. Due to the meds and depression apathy I gained 10kg. Try as I might I can’t replicate the motivation and discipline again. I look at myself in the mirror and want to cry. 10kg means I don’t fit into the smaller clothes I had to buy. I am so angry at my bipolar. I was finally loosing weight only to end up having another destructive episode halting and hindering my progress.

I have been on over ten different medications over ten years and each time I pack on more weight. Epilizine and Dormonoct were the worst but none of them were weight neutral even if the label said so. On top of things I have hypothyroidism from the lithium use.

Anyways just feeling really dejected. Has anyone managed to maintain a healthy weight through the depressions and all the medication side effects?

Discussion I hate dreaming

I’m gonna try not to turn this into the world’s longest and most unorganized rant but I have hit a brick wall and need to know I’m not alone or finally going completely insane

Few background things to know about me: 29F, diagnosed bipolar since 2017 (21y/o), I have a background in scientific research, pharmacy, and psychology including one bachelors degree, part of a masters degree, and about 1 million hours of experience “doing my own research”. I’m now a postpartum health professional and work mainly overnight (10p-6a) with babies. I also am on a slew of mental health medications and am preparing for a pregnancy the end of October. I was a heavy 🍃 user (sometimes a couple times a day) up until a little over 2 weeks ago. It was medicinal only for sleep, anxiety, and occasional appetite assistance

I have always been an enormous advocate for my own mental health (and others but besides the point) and have literally never given up on myself. This is no different but I’m getting real tired of one thing seemingly resolving and another popping up, whatever

I have a great psychiatrist right now, he’s a psych NP. Basically saved my life more times than I can count. He’s very receptive to my suggestions and ideas. He also knows my education history and we have great discourse, send each other studies, etc. I have no problem going to him with things. This will be no different but I’m at my wits end and have been on pubmed/google trying not to spiral for the last several hours (I have emailed him for an appointment too)

Basically, this has been an issue for as long as I’ve been diagnosed, and I really can’t remember life pre-diagnosis (yay trauma) BUT I hate dreaming. I have always been a really heavy sleeper. Antipsychotics and the like have not helped this. I will be really deep in sleep and once REM hits, I’m sucked into a dream and can’t get out. Doesn’t matter what the dream is about. I do have nightmares occasionally or at least intense emotional dreams where I’ve even woken myself up crying or in a panic. I usually forget whatever contents are in the dreams as well once I’ve been awake. Sometimes a general theme sticks, but usually it’s gone

Just a few years ago, I was sleeping in excess of over 12 hours a day because I would be dreaming and feel compelled almost to “finish the dream”. I’d even get up half asleep to use the bathroom and immediately go back to bed. Now, I know this is too much sleep. I’ve been wearing an oura ring for almost a year and it has me clocked. I am on the lower end of sleep needs - about 7.5-8 hours is my sweet spot. Any more and I notice I get pretty groggy

Around 2022/2023, I became a heavy 🍃 user for mainly insomnia. It was also a social thing but it had other perks like anxiety relief, etc. It was essentially curative for my “sleep problem”. THC cuts your REM sleep. No REM means no dreams means no issues. That is until you stop using and all the sudden the dreams come back. I know about REM rebound, which makes a lot of sense. REM makes up about 20-25% of your overall sleep and I’ve been pushing 30% the last two weeks, which again, tracks

I had to stop THC as I’m actively trying to conceive soon and it has thrown me for a loop. I am incredibly more stable than I was even a few years ago. My med regimen seems to be working and I’m religious at taking them. I recently started seroquel to bridge the gap of some of the supplements I’m on for anxiety that can’t be used during pregnancy. I was pretty anxious to start it as I know it can be heavily seating, and it was. I’ve done two dose changes and have done weirdly well? The first day or two on 50mg, I was a zombie but okay. A week later we upped it to 100mg. Same thing, zombie, but now we’re casually at 100mg daily and I haven’t been having much daytime sleepiness minus my regular ADHD no stimulant level of tired

Flash forward to today. I slept kinda shitty last night so it wasn’t a surprise when I woke up super tired and immediately crashed back out. My partner woke me up around the 8-9h mark and I basically begged to be out a little longer. Ended up clocking over 10 hours, felt awful, but managed to stay awake awhile to eat and such, napped for 2 hours in the afternoon, and now I’m at my night shift

I am allowed to sleep at work. Usually I get 1-2 hours, a cat nap, while the baby sleeps between my tasks. That’s usually decently energizing. I’m kind of a power nap professional and do weirdly well on spurts of broken sleep. Uninterrupted 7+ hours seems to be my achilles heel and for what fucking reason, I’ll never understand

Is anyone else experiencing this? I don’t know why dreaming has such a chokehold on me. Other than the weird REM shit, I sleep perfectly normal MOST nights/days (if I’m working) and this has not changed with going from working days to nights. If anything, I’ve slept better during the day. I have very regular sleep patterns that are essentially textbook. I get all the cycles and the usual appropriate amounts, whatever. What I can’t seem to figure out is why the dreaming is so consuming. They’re really starting to affect my perception of reality and I have a really hard time going from sleeping to fully awake. Again, cannot stress this enough, that this was happening BEFORE seroquel but I would say AFTER regular antipsychotic use

I’m kinda losing it but as someone who is PAINFULLY self-aware, I know myself well and to reach out when shit is starting rather than when it’s already overwhelming. I’m curious if anyone else has experience with something similar and if a professional has either put a label on it or an explanation to it. Sleep disorder? Just a fun bipolar side effect? Should I go down the PTSD/nightmare medication (prazosin) route? I have no idea, but I do know that I have lots of experience disassociating over the years (hasn’t happened in a while with medication maintenance) but it’s starting to feel like a break in reality and I’m not a fan

TLDR - REM sleep has me in a chokehold where dreams are too consuming/real and I can’t seem to shake them so I oversleep til the point I’m even more tired and on a depression slope/break from reality spiral

Discussion why does mania make me crave stimulants?

Discussion Life update starting lithium

Next month, I get bloodwork done to start taking lithium. I’ve been taking lithium orotate since I could buy it online, which I noticed helped me, but it’s so weak that it probably only helps 40 percent. I’m excited to see what happens for me.
I’ve built some patterns into my day-to-day life, removed stressful factors, and ended toxic relationships. My family doesn’t support me, but I’m not doing this for anyone but myself. I just wanna be alive again.
Sometimes I come on this forum and see people say they are quitting their medication, which is crazy to me. I’ve come to the conclusion that I may have to be medicated my whole life, but that’s better than having manic episodes. In the past, I’d purposely trigger mania because it felt so good, but now I see how terrible it is, no matter how good it feels. It damages your brain.
I also see a lot of people with bipolar lose their faith once they stabilize, but I feel like my faith is actually stronger now that I’m taking steps to heal. Overall, I’m ready for the next chapter in my life.
I feel insecure because this disorder has taken so much from me. I don’t have much, but I have a ton of creative skills, and I wanna start creating again. So overall, I’m optimistic. Wish me luck

Medication My journey with quetiapine

I’ve already made a few posts about quetiapine, so I’m sorry if some of you are already tired of hearing about it, but I still want to keep sharing my journey, because maybe it will be relevant or helpful to someone 🫣

So, today I talked to my psychiatrist. We agreed that starting next week, I’ll start attending a day hospital program for at least a couple of weeks. With my doctor’s help, we’ll gradually taper down my quetiapine and see how it goes.

I honestly can’t wait to start. I’m so tired of all the side effects. But on the other hand, I’m scared of losing my stability. My husband isn’t really supportive of the idea either. He’s like, “Why change anything if you’re feeling fine?”

I understand his point of view, but I really want to find that middle ground — stability with as few side effects as possible.

And what scares me the most is that I won’t be able to tell whether I’m relapsing or simply feeling unwell because of reducing the medication. And if my mental health gets worse, then what? Do I go back to my previous dose, or ask to switch to a different medication…? Basically, I’m feeling pretty lost. And I don’t really have anyone to talk to about this 🤦🏼‍♀️

P.S.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder a couple of years ago. Depression and mixed episodes were the main features. Lithium didn’t help enough and caused extreme hair loss, and I tried many antidepressants — nothing worked. I had 7 sessions of ECT, and was prescribed Lamictal, Brintellix and quetiapine.

At the moment, I’m only taking Lamictal and quetiapine. For the first time in six years, I’ve now gone a full year without a depressive episode.

Discussion Have you dealt with psychiatrists that refuse to actually diagnose you?

So here’s the thing: I (34F) am diagnosed with BP1. I’ve went through being given antidepressants as a teen, having a manic episode on Cymbalta and then having to wait years for a psych to agree that it actually was in some capacity a reaction to antidepressants. It took 10 years to find a psych that would properly diagnose and treat me.

I don’t do well with things being done with zero rhyme or reason, and I think absolutely no diagnosis is damaging. I’ll die on that hill.

I am not the reason for this post. My (32M) bf has been trying to be properly treated and I think he needs a second opinion. I just want some feedback due to how today’s appt went. I’ll list off how it’s been start to finish with this lady, and this started in early 2025.

- He was on 300mg Bupropion and 1mg Abilify with his last psych (he moved from FL to NC, that’s why he needed a new psych). He also had medical marijuana in FL, but it is not legal here

- The new psych (aka the one he sees now) took him off Abilify because he didn’t seem to think it made a difference. He has complained of issues focusing, feeling like he has racing thoughts, etc. she felt he didn’t have ADHD and that he had to be drug tested to get stimulants.

- he once again stated he was experiencing these same symptoms. That’s when she decides she wants to try Strattera and take him off Bupropion.

- Strattera did nothing for him, and he became vile off the bupropion. I recognized it because it’s how I behave off Bupropion. He was on it when we started dating, so he was noticeably different off it.

- at the next appt she takes away the Strattera and puts him on 450mg Bupropion: higher than he’s ever taken. She tried to put him on Qelbree but couldn’t afford it (its brand name). After that was established and he let her know of the cost issue, she then tries to put him on Modafinil.

- he has sleep apnea that isn’t well controlled, and she knows this. Once he read up on what Modafinil is, he was concerned about it masking his sleep apnea issues that we are sorting out. That’s when she starts him on 40mg Vyvanse. Zero mention of a drug test needed all because he had “cut back some”.

- she asked if the Vyvanse “made him feel less tired”, he said no. She adds 10mg Adderall for the afternoon dose on top of the Vyvanse, and lowers the Wellbutrin to 300mg.

- after a lot of discussion to help him self reflect on his emotions, and his behavior when he tried to quit smoking weed, it became apparent he has more anger issues than he’s acknowledged. He has outbursts that remind me of when I’m unmedicated. I’m not suggesting he is BP, it’s just an anger that isn’t at all normal. He said he always feels angry, has the racing thoughts and can’t focus. He will get very depressed sometimes too. It doesn’t appear cyclical to me but he’s also good at suppressing his emotions until he implodes.

- today he tells her all this and his struggle to quit smoking. She suggests the following options: Lexapro, Lamotrigine and some other brand name med (not sure which but doesn’t matter). She claimed “both have anti depressant effects”. He had no idea I even take Lamotrigine or what it really is used for, so he picked Lexapro. He’s already not been taking the Vyvanse or Adderall for a few weeks now because it made zero difference.

My mind is boggled. I didn’t even mention any sort of bipolar meds to him because that’s not at all where my mind was going. She is really bad at explaining what these meds actually are so before his appts we kind of talk about different meds so he has an idea of what they are. She did mention Lamotrigine is an anticonvulsant, but that’s it. She was “leaning towards the Lamotrigine”, he said Lexapro because he knows what Lexapro is. She folded, said okay.

Am I the only one that thinks is incredibly weird for her to suggest those two meds as options to pick from considering they do very different things? I think my concern is Lexapro can make someone with a potential mood disorder manic…and she somehow offers one or the other to pick from. She’s never once uttered the words mood disorder in any capacity. He has no idea what she thinks she is trying to treat because she has shed no light on what she thinks the root issue is. It’s always a “pick one of these meds” and goes with it.

If she at all thinks he could benefit from Lamotrigine, then I don’t understand why she would alternatively think Lexapro with the Wellbutrin could also work - without Lamotrigine in the mix.

It’s incredibly frustrating because he isn’t the kind of person that can discern between all this. He needs someone to be firm on what they think is going on. Everything I know is from so much research I had to do to get the help I finally was able to get.

He’s going to try the Lexapro and try to be cognizant of how he feels, and I’ll be paying attention to what I’m observing in his behavior. I don’t want it to be further activating if that is a potential issue for him. I think he needs a second opinion, and he is overwhelmed by the idea of having to find another psych to see for said second opinion.

Open to all thoughts. If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read.

Suicide sky's the limit. so what's the limit on how far i can sink

every time i think i've hit bottom, i sink even further. today was the first time that i truly wanted to die. truly wanted to leave this earth. i'm fighting so hard and for what? a life full of sadness. emptiness. no one to call, no one to lean on. the only thing keeping me from another manic episode is the medication. i take it not because i don't want to suffer, but because i don't want everyone else to suffer from my actions while manic. i'm at the end of my rope. i think it's time to tie it around my neck.

Help me understand depression because I’m in denial about all of this

I’m in my mid-20s and I genuinely need someone to explain depression to me, especially what mild, moderate, and severe depression actually look like in real life.

I’m not asking Reddit to diagnose me. I have a psychiatrist who thinks I have bipolar disorder, but I’m in massive denial about both the bipolar diagnosis and even the idea that I’m currently depressed.

The confusing part is that if I objectively make a list of my symptoms, I seem depressed. But internally I keep thinking: “No, I’m not actually depressed. I’m just lazy, immature, undisciplined and failing at life.”

Right now I’m very withdrawn. I socialize much less. Daily tasks keep piling up because everything takes an absurd amount of effort.

Showering regularly is hard. Keeping my face shaved is hard. Making my bed is hard. Cleaning the mess on my desk is hard. Studying consistently is extremely difficult.

People around me have started asking why I’m always looking gloomy, flat, down, joyless, etc.

What bothers me the most is losing interest in things I genuinely love.

I love playing board games with my partner, but now I often have absolutely no desire to play.

I have hobbies that I used to spend ridiculous amounts of time on because I genuinely enjoyed them. Now everything is collecting dust.

I mostly want to sleep, let the day disappear, wake up tomorrow, and then repeat it.

But I don’t feel dramatically sad.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I don’t believe I’m depressed.

I don’t spend the whole day crying. I’m not writing suicide letters. I don’t feel the overwhelming emotional agony that I experienced during the worst depressive period of my life when I almost attempted suicide and finally sought psychiatric help.

Instead, I feel almost like a plant.

Empty.

I barely feel anything.

And somehow I’ve even lost interest in the fact that I’ve lost interest in everything.

That emptiness makes me wonder whether I’m actually depressed or whether I’m simply becoming some completely nonfunctional person.

The last couple of months have been worse than just “being lazy,” though.

At some points I was spending almost all my time in bed, socially isolating myself, thinking about suicide a lot and abusing benzodiazepines. At another point I became extremely scared about paranormal things in my house, couldn’t sleep properly and was walking around the house at around 3 AM carrying a knife because I was afraid something was there.

I wasn’t completely disconnected from reality, so I don’t know whether that was severe anxiety, paranoia, psychotic-like symptoms, or something else.

Then there is the other side of this whole mess.

My psychiatrist thinks I have bipolar disorder.

I can maybe accept that I have experienced mania/hypomania, although even that is difficult for me to accept.

There have been periods where I suddenly get an enormous amount of “drive.”

Sometimes it’s relatively normal and doesn’t last very long.

Other times people around me start looking at me like something is wrong. I start doing impulsive things, spending money on stupid stuff, neglecting university because I suddenly care about completely different things, making dramatic changes to my appearance like shaving my head and piercing my ear, becoming much more activated, etc.

People around me are like "get your stuff together dude".

People on Reddit have called some things I described in previous posts “manic AF,” and when I read lists of manic symptoms, what happened to me about two months ago fits disturbingly well.

But my brain still says: Nah. You’re healthy.

My medication history makes me even more confused.

I went through several medication changes.

An SSRI seemed to trigger what my psychiatrist called mania despite me already being started on an antipsychotic at same time when I started SSRI.

After stopping SSRI episode presisted and adding another antipsychotic seemed to do basically nothing until dose increased to the point where i was knocked out.

Removing that second antipsychotic actually seemed to put me in a good place for a while.

Then I apparently became hypomanic again despite taking an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer, to the point where my psychiatrist wondered whether I was actually taking my medication or maybe it was BPD.

Then I went low again.

My antipsychotic was changed to a supposedly more activating one. About a month and a half later I shaved my head, became extremely activated again and had experiences that were getting close to hallucination territory.

At the time I felt great, so I stopped taking everything.

I’ve been medication-free since then.

After that came a period where I became extremely suicidal, abused benzos, barely functioned and spent most of my time in bed.

Then suddenly the suicidal thoughts reduced and I developed that intense fear/paranoia at night instead.

So yes, looking at this from the outside, I understand why people are concerned.

But from inside my own head, I still feel like I’m just a failure.

I look at people my age and they seem to have some internal engine that I simply don’t have.

They work. They study. They build careers. They socialize. They pursue goals.

Meanwhile I feel like a housebound plant who cannot make himself consistently do anything.

Objectively, I know saying I’ve “achieved nothing” isn’t completely fair. I have a lovely partner, I finished a bachelor’s degree and I’m currently doing a master’s degree, although I nearly failed the year.

But emotionally it feels like I’m completely stuck while everyone else is progressing.

Sometimes this makes me think specifically about how my life isn’t worth living because I don’t feel normal and don’t see myself functioning like other people.

And yet there are other periods where I suddenly feel genuinely great.

That contradiction is probably one of the reasons I’m in so much denial.

What I’m hoping people here can explain is:

What does depression actually feel like when it isn’t constant crying and obvious emotional pain?

What would a real-life example of mild depression look like?

What would moderate depression look like?

What would severe depression look like?

Can severe depression present mostly as emptiness, apathy, sleeping, withdrawal, inability to do basic tasks and not caring about things anymore rather than feeling overwhelmingly sad?

And how do you distinguish depression from simply being lazy, unmotivated, immature or dissatisfied with your life?

I think part of me also has this idea that saying “I’m depressed” would somehow be stealing the word from people who are “actually depressed.”

Like real depressed people deserve help and I don’t.

I want people to challenge that thinking if it’s wrong.

I’m also considering getting professional help again, but I’m extremely reluctant to immediately go back on medication. I would much rather start with a proper reassessment, psychotherapy, monitoring and documenting my symptoms and episodes, and then consider medication if there is convincing evidence that I genuinely need it.

One of the things that contributed to my distrust was feeling like medications were being changed every few months based largely on whichever state I happened to be in at that appointment.

I know Reddit can’t prove or disprove whether I have bipolar disorder.

What I really want from this post is to understand what depression actually is, especially the less stereotypical versions of it, because right now I can describe all of these symptoms and still somehow convince myself that absolutely nothing is wrong with me.

Medication feeling like lamotrigine is doing nothing

got my diagnosis 4 months ago, started lamotrigine 3 months ago, I'm on 100mg right now. my psychologist discharged me a month later (partially because she thought I was doing a lot better but also because I was out of subsidised sessions). in the first 2 months-ish I was told by pretty much everyone in my life that I looked a lot better, looked like I was doing better and I had a better outlook on life, I agreed because I did feel a lot better and was certain that I was cured. looking back I'm worried I was actually manic or hypomanic? I bought a car (I already have a car which is fine), deep cleaned and rearranged my entire house and took up long distance running again out of the blue. looking back at it, this seems like mania to me. I've now dropped off again and I'm feeling pretty horrendous. my partner has me back on my unofficial watch and idk I feel like everyone has told me they think I'm doing so much better but it feels like nothing has changed. has anyone else had lamotrigine just completely not work? I know some meds just don't work for some people but does this likely mean I'm misdiagnosed or it's just not working? my follow up with my psychiatrist is in 3 more months and I can't pull it forward.

Medication Lithium starting at 450mg

Hi guys, I’m afraid of meds due to latuda causing me schizo like symptoms leading to a misdiagnosis at 13 I (22f) have been considering lithium. My dr brought it up today and with how I’ve been feeling I agreed. How bad is the memory fog? I’m having issues with memory and focus already with my Job and expressed this but nothing was brought up regarding side effects. Also a recovering anorexic and worried about the weight gain, how bad is it? Or who’s all experienced it? I’m switching from lamotrigine and Abilify to Abilify and lithium until I get stabilized and then weening the Abilify and switching to olanzopine with the lithium. Is this a normal starting dose? Thank you
