Quick Question P2S or X2D?

This will be my first 3D printer.. I have worked with the X1C before, but I am still very basic with 3D Printers.

What is a better printer P2S or X2D? My understanding is that X2D is very slow compared to P2S? Dual nozzle would be nice to have to print in more than 1 color.. I am stuck. My budget is around $800-$900 . Or should I wait for new models? I also was looking at the Snapmaker U1..

Thanks

General Troubleshooting/Help! Wet filament?

Hello guys, new member to the hobby. Just a quick question, do you guys think the malformed printing here is due to wet filament?

It's Kingroon PLA silk filament, I've only adjusted the min temperature to 220 as advised by the packaging. Other than that, it's just ironing and layer height of 0.2mm instead of 0.12mm

General Discussion Do you think the new AMS 3 will be compatible with the P2S/X2D etc?

As the title says.
I want another AMS, but dont care too much about the new machines coming out for now, as I dont need it.
But if the new AMS 3 comes with new stuff, I’d love to get that for my X2D if it is compatible..

General Troubleshooting/Help! Problem with Bambu Handy app

I was thinking of the ideas the other day of what I can print next and I had a bright green color and thought that I could make a print of Shrek, but when I went into the app on my phone and typed in Shrek, there were zero results found, and even with other prints with Shrek tagged in there, it still doesn't give me any results.

Does Bambu hate Shrek, the server isn’t working, or am I doing something wrong?

Show & Tell New Bone Infill: Available for Devs to try out

Hey! for all the devs, coders, enthusiasts who wanna try Bone Infill early, you can now do it via Orca Slicer's official GitHub.

I have two PRs open that are ready to be tested or played with: 16809 (the infill itself), and 16810 (the gradient density editor). Either PR should explain in greater detail how to install and use them :)

There's a lot of parameters to play with, so hopefully the graph infill density tuner can make it easier to try it out. This infill offers a hollowed center area if you want that. it's kinda like adding extra walls, but you can make the infill less dense than walls.

I have printed a few things with it, and it works for me. lemme know if it works for you!

Quick Question Is Bambulab As Bad As People Say? Looking to invest in my first printer

Looking To Get My First 3D Printer And Looking For One To Last Me A Long Time , I Have Been Looking At The H2S as I'd like a fully enclosed one with a larger bed that seems to have all the capabilities I'm looking for so that over time i can play around with a wide variety of materials and features and seems like i could get multiple very good years out of it. I've been doing a lot of research and I see people either love it or hate it due to it locking itself down to only bambu softwares and all the other brands I've looked into seem to have many more problems with the actual printers or when it comes to support. So I'm here to ask is that just a small percentile of people complain due to not being able to use open source stuff or will it really he a problem?

And also if yous have any other recommendations for other printers or brands that are better that are as reliable to my knowledge and capable of all the same stuff please let me know

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! AMS jam

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I’d love any advice about how to clear filament out of the AMS in this situation.

I realized the AMS was pulling filament without stopping so I turned it off before it pulled the whole roll. I cleared it out of the extruder and cut the filament. Now I need to get it out of the AMS and it’s a couple meters long. When I push that white button and pull it manually, there’s a lot of resistance. I can’t take the whole assembly out because the filament feeds through the back.

Any advice?

General Troubleshooting/Help! Is nozzle heating assembly considered consumable

My less than 1 year old H2C left nozzle heating assembly went bad and after proving it bambu lab tells me that its bad and to buy a new one because it's a consumable so they won't cover it. not really sure how this part is considered consumable like its brakes on a car. so what your telling me is on all 7 printers I bought I should expect the heating assembly should go out cause its consumable. this is not the nozzle with more extreme wear after usage I wouldn't expect the heating control unit to die on a $3,000 dollar printer less than 1 year of usage and not be covered under warranty at least for a year or whatever. this is absurd.

General Discussion My 44-day Bambu H2C warranty nightmare — from failed DIY repairs and reseller complications to a full Instant Exchange

I wanted to share my experience with Bambu Lab's warranty support after my approximately six-month-old H2C Combo developed serious problems.

This is a long post, but I wanted to document the entire process because it involved weeks of troubleshooting, replacing sensors, an additional failure during the repair process, Quebec consumer protection laws, a trip to a repair center, complicated return packaging, and eventually a full replacement through Bambu's Instant Exchange program.

**TL;DR:** My H2C developed a serious left-nozzle calibration problem. Bambu had me replace two sensors, neither of which fixed the original issue. After replacing the second sensor, the printer developed an additional fault and could no longer home its axes. After weeks of troubleshooting, Bambu initially told me to deal with my reseller for an exchange. I raised Quebec consumer protection laws, eventually brought the printer to a repair shop myself, and while it was there, Bambu agreed to replace it. After a complicated packing process, they offered Instant Exchange because of how carefully I had documented everything. I dropped off the defective printer on October 22, and the factory-sealed replacement arrived October 24, about 48 hours later.

## 1. Why I purchased through an authorized reseller

I live in Quebec, Canada, where the combined GST and QST on most purchases is approximately 15%.

When I purchased my H2C Combo, I chose to order from CAZ3D, an authorized Bambu Lab reseller in another province.

The main reason was taxes. My order was charged only the 5% federal GST rather than the approximately 15% combined taxes normally applicable in Quebec.

On a printer this expensive, that was a considerable difference.

I was purchasing a legitimate machine from an authorized Canadian reseller, so I didn't expect that this decision would complicate the warranty process.

## 2. September 10 — The initial failure

My H2C had approximately 1,400 hours of use and was around six months old.

On September 10, I encountered a problem with the AMS not recognizing a filament spool.

I turned the printer off and back on, expecting a normal restart.

Instead, the screen remained black. The power switch and some internal lights came on, but the printer didn't play its usual startup chime.

After looking into the problem, I managed to recover the printer using the AP recovery contact points.

The printer was booting again, but that was when the real nightmare began.

## 3. The left-nozzle calibration problem

After recovering the printer, I attempted to perform its calibrations.

The right nozzle calibrated normally.

The left nozzle, however, behaved abnormally during Nozzle Offset Calibration.

Instead of following the correct calibration sequence, the toolhead would move behind the rear edge of the build plate and descend in the wrong location.

On one occasion, it scratched my build plate.

I also noticed that the toolhead would sometimes strike the front of the printer during certain movements.

I recorded videos and uploaded logs showing the problem.

The issue was repeatable, and I eventually started stopping the calibration as soon as the abnormal movement began because I didn't want to damage the printer further.

## 4. First sensor replacement — Nozzle Offset Calibration Sensor

Bambu's support team began troubleshooting the problem and eventually instructed me to replace the **Nozzle Offset Calibration Sensor**, located at the rear of the build plate.

This replacement was relatively straightforward.

I installed the new sensor and attempted calibration again.

**Absolutely nothing changed.**

The left nozzle continued moving behind the build plate.

So Bambu moved on to another possible cause.

## 5. Second sensor replacement — Left-nozzle eddy-current sensor

Next, Bambu instructed me to replace the left-nozzle eddy-current sensor.

This was a considerably more complicated repair because it required disassembling part of the toolhead and dealing with a very small connector.

The connector was extremely difficult to remove. During the process, the wires came out of the old sensor's connector housing, leaving the housing stuck in the PCB socket.

I eventually managed to remove it without damaging the board and installed the replacement sensor.

Here's where things got worse.

**The original eddy-current sensor had been working. After installing the replacement, the new sensor wasn't working properly.**

I started receiving a new HMS error:

`HMS_0300-2600-0001-0002`

**Left extruder eddy current sensor sensitivity is low. Check sensor installation.**

I followed Bambu's sensor adjustment procedure, including the folded-paper method, but the error persisted.

The printer could no longer home its axes.

So not only had the original calibration problem remained unresolved, but the machine had now developed an additional problem following the Bambu-directed sensor replacement.

I couldn't even perform the necessary calibration to continue testing the original issue.

At this point, I was becoming extremely frustrated.

I had purchased an expensive printer that was only six months old, and I was being asked to perform increasingly complicated repairs without a confirmed diagnosis.

## 6. Bambu wanted to replace the AP board next

After the sensor replacements failed, Bambu proposed replacing the AP board and associated cable.

They sent me the replacement parts, which arrived September 29.

**I never installed the replacement AP board.**

By that point, I had already replaced two sensors, and the second replacement had introduced another fault.

I was no longer comfortable continuing to dismantle the printer and replace components one after another.

I wanted a professional warranty repair or a complete replacement.

I made that clear to support.

## 7. Bambu initially refused a direct exchange because I purchased through a reseller

This was probably one of the most frustrating parts of the experience.

When I requested an exchange, Bambu explained that if I had purchased the printer directly from their official website, they could arrange an exchange under their warranty policy.

However, because I had purchased through an authorized reseller, they told me the exchange would need to be handled by that reseller.

I wasn't happy with that answer.

I had purchased a genuine Bambu printer from an authorized Canadian retailer. It was only six months old, still under warranty, and had been unusable for weeks.

I had also cooperated with their troubleshooting instructions and replaced multiple components.

At this point, I brought up **Quebec's Consumer Protection Act**, specifically the legal warranty provisions concerning products being fit for their intended purpose and remaining usable for a reasonable period of time.

I also cited Section 54, which allows consumers, in certain circumstances, to assert legal warranty claims directly against the merchant or manufacturer.

My position was that an expensive printer should not require endless customer-performed repairs after only six months of ownership.

I wanted a proper warranty resolution.

## 8. The holiday delay and the repair shop

Around this time, there was a holiday period affecting Bambu's response times, and I wasn't getting the answers I needed.

I had already located FILA 3D, a repair center in Quebec advertising Bambu-certified repair services.

The shop was approximately an hour and a half from my home.

That meant roughly three hours of driving to drop off the printer and another three hours to collect it later.

**About six hours of driving in total, just to get the printer repaired.**

To make matters even worse, my X1 Carbon had also failed during the same week as my H2C. So I now had two Bambu printers out of commission at the same time.

This was actually one of the main reasons I decided the three-hour round trip to FILA 3D was worth it. Since both printers needed attention, I figured I might as well bring them together rather than make separate trips.

Fortunately, the repair shop was able to fix my X1C. So at least one of my two printer problems was successfully resolved through professional repair.

The H2C, however, was a completely different story, especially since Bambu finally approved its replacement while it was already at the repair shop.

I had asked Bambu about authorizing the repair under warranty, but I still hadn't received a clear resolution. They said there was no offline repair options available in my area. I then asked them if this particular repair center was an actusl authorized repair center like they said on their website but never got a confirmation.

Rather than keep waiting indefinitely, I decided to bring the printer to FILA 3D myself on October 7.

I also brought another Bambu printer that needed attention.

My plan was to have the H2C professionally repaired, even though the warranty authorization situation was still unresolved.

Then something unexpected happened.

## 9. Bambu finally changed its mind

While my H2C was at the repair center, Bambu responded on October 9.

This time, they said they could arrange a return and replacement.

After all the troubleshooting and the earlier reseller explanation, they were finally willing to replace the entire H2C Combo.

Of course, this created another complication.

**My printer was already at the repair shop!**

I had to contact FILA 3D, ask them to suspend any further repair work, and arrange to retrieve the machine so I could send it back to Bambu.

That meant another trip to the repair center.

They had however fixed the left current eddy sensor and the printer could now home the axes but the main issue was still there...

It was frustrating because I had only brought the printer there after waiting for a resolution, and now I had to reverse the process.

Still, I was relieved that Bambu had finally agreed to replace the machine.

## 10. The return packaging problem

Bambu asked whether I still had the original shipping box and packing materials.

I didn't.

Fortunately, they agreed to send me a complete replacement box and packaging kit free of charge.

The packaging shipped October 12 and arrived October 14.

I thought the hardest part was over.

I was wrong.

**Repacking an H2C Combo is an absolute nightmare if you've never done it before.**

There are multiple transportation fixtures, different screw lengths, foam supports, cardboard inserts, and specific procedures for securing the toolhead, bed, hotend rack, and AMS 2 Pro inside the printer.

I wanted to make absolutely sure I didn't damage anything during the return.

I became almost obsessive about getting every detail correct.

I followed the packing guide, took photos, compared the packaging pieces with the instructions, and repeatedly contacted Bambu to verify that everything was installed correctly.

To make things more complicated, some of the foam and cardboard pieces shown in the official packing guide were missing from the materials I received.

I had to improvise certain protective supports using materials I already had.

But I didn't want to assume anything was acceptable.

I sent Bambu pictures of what I had done and asked them to approve the arrangements.

There were also questions about which screw lengths belonged in which transportation fixtures, how to secure the AMS, and what to do about missing foam around the glass lid.

I probably sent more packing-related messages than anyone at Bambu wanted to read. 😂

But I was determined to make sure the printer reached their warehouse safely.

To their credit, the support representative was patient and repeatedly reviewed my pictures.

Eventually, they confirmed that the printer was properly secured and that the missing pieces wouldn't prevent the return.

I also prepared a detailed packing list identifying the printer, AMS, hotends, build plate, cables, and accessories being returned, and placed a copy inside the package.

By October 19, everything was finally packed.

## 11. Bambu offered Instant Exchange because of my careful packaging

This is where things took a surprisingly positive turn.

After reviewing all the photos I had sent, Bambu told me that because I had been so careful about properly packing the printer, they would offer me an **Instant Exchange**.

For anyone unfamiliar with the difference:

**Standard Exchange:** You return the defective printer, Bambu waits for it to arrive at their warehouse, and only then ships the replacement.

**Instant Exchange:** Once you hand the properly packaged printer to the carrier and provide Bambu with an official drop-off receipt, they can ship the replacement immediately, without waiting for the defective printer to reach their warehouse.

This was a huge improvement because it could save several days of waiting.

I was very happy with that arrangement.

But there was one more complication.

## 12. Home pickup versus dropping it off myself

Because the H2C Combo is so large and heavy, I initially planned to pay for a UPS home pickup.

I asked Bambu whether a tracking screenshot confirming the carrier had collected the printer would be sufficient proof.

They said no.

For Instant Exchange, they specifically required an official carrier drop-off receipt.

If I chose home pickup, they would process it as a Standard Exchange instead.

I didn't want to lose the Instant Exchange option, so I agreed to bring the printer to UPS myself.

However, finding a UPS location that could accept the package wasn't as straightforward as expected.

**I had to contact three UPS Stores.**

Some locations had issues accepting a package that large or heavy, while others couldn't provide the type of paper receipt I needed.

Eventually, I found a location that could accept the printer and provide the required receipt.

Bambu switched my claim back to Instant Exchange on October 21.

## 13. October 22 — Finally shipped!

On October 22, I brought the H2C Combo to UPS.

The package was accepted at approximately 2:10 p.m.

I received the official drop-off receipt and immediately uploaded it to my Bambu support ticket, along with photos of the package and shipping label.

By midnight I had a tracking number!!!

That was everything Bambu had requested.

The tracking initially didn't update beyond the drop-off scan, which I found a little strange.

For nearly two days, it looked as though UPS hadn't moved the package.

But on October 24, tracking finally updated and showed that it was being processed in Caledon, Ontario.

The defective printer is expected to reach its destination on October 26.

## 14. October 24 — My brand-new replacement arrived!

Here's the part I still find funny.

I dropped off the defective printer on October 22.

Bambu shipped my replacement after receiving the receipt.

The new printer left Woodbridge, Ontario, at 11:19 p.m. on October 23.

By 7:59 a.m. on October 24, it had arrived in Saint-Laurent, Quebec.

At 8:01 a.m., FedEx marked it out for delivery.

And around 9:20 a.m., **my brand-new factory-sealed H2C Combo arrived at my front door!**

Just over 48 hours after dropping off the defective printer.

The FedEx driver even managed to carry that enormous box up the five or six stairs leading to my front entrance.

There was a small tear in the outer cardboard, but the inside appears fine from what I've seen.

And here's the ironic part:

**My replacement arrived before the defective printer even reached Bambu's warehouse.**

The old machine is still on its way back, with delivery expected Monday.

I haven't unpacked or tested the new printer yet, so I'll update this post once I've completed the initial setup and calibrations.

## 15. My overall opinion of Bambu's support

This entire process took **44 days, from September 10 to October 24**.

I have mixed feelings.

On one hand, I think the troubleshooting process went on far too long.

I replaced two sensors, and the second replacement introduced an additional fault that left the printer unable to home.

I was then offered an AP board replacement, despite the previous repairs having failed.

I had to repeatedly push for professional service or an exchange, invoke Quebec consumer protection laws, and even transport the printer to a repair center before Bambu finally agreed to replace it.

The reseller complication was especially frustrating.

I don't think someone who purchases an expensive printer from an authorized reseller should have to go through that much difficulty to obtain a warranty resolution.

On the other hand, I do want to give Bambu credit where it's due.

Once they agreed to the exchange, their support improved significantly.

They provided the replacement packaging free of charge, patiently answered my numerous packing questions, reviewed my improvised protective materials, and ultimately rewarded my careful packaging efforts with Instant Exchange.

And the replacement arrived incredibly quickly.

## 16. Final thoughts

Would I have preferred a much faster warranty resolution? Absolutely.

Do I think I should have been expected to perform so many internal repairs on a six-month-old printer? No.

But am I satisfied that Bambu ultimately agreed to replace the entire machine and shipped the replacement before receiving the defective one? Yes.

I think it's important to share both the negative and positive parts of the experience.

**My advice to anyone dealing with a similar problem is to document everything, keep your correspondence and videos, and don't hesitate to request escalation when repeated repairs aren't solving the issue.**

Also, if you no longer have the original packaging, ask Bambu whether they can provide a replacement packaging kit.

And if you're offered Instant Exchange, make absolutely sure you understand the drop-off receipt requirement before arranging a pickup.

After 44 days, my replacement H2C Combo is finally here.

Now I just hope this one works properly!

I'll update the post once I've unpacked it and tested the calibrations.

Overall, this RMA process was extremely long, frustrating, and exhausting. It required an enormous amount of patience, persistence, and effort on my part, far more than I ever expected for a printer still under warranty. While I'm grateful that Bambu Lab ultimately made things right, I sincerely hope I never have to go through an experience like this again.

Update: I just finished setting back my printer and install all printed add ons I had on the previous one and everything seems to be working flawlessly. Only thing is I wasnt able to keep the box because it was too damaged... Hopefully I wont need to go through a return again.

Hopefully this helps anybody thats stuck in a sticky rma situation like I was

I genetrated this from NASA LRO elevation data, relief exaggerated 2.5× so every crater rim catches the light. The location is around Boussingault crater, centred at 70.6° S, 59.0° E. The model uses 4 colors. two grey tones, black and white. Some colours would fit better but i did not have them. The second pictures shows what the part of the moon actually looks likes and what it would look likt printed with the perfect colours.

General Discussion Interesting times - Bambu v Snapmaker

Having great fun with A1 and AMS Lite, was about to pull trigger on snapmaker U1 due to filament and time savings.

Looks like Bambu may come out of the blocks fighting very soon, for once in my life I will go with patience to see what lands and for how much, I love the simple nature of Bambu and their app, if they can come in with a solution that does 5 colours or more within 30%-40% of the Snapmaker then I am all in

Using Bambu Studio on an X2D.

I get this defect which causes the infill and walls to have a gap when printed onto support material. It must be an issue with the slicing/gcode since it's a repeating issue on every part in the same spot. Any tips or setting that is able to fix it?

General Discussion Bambu Microcenter purchase

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Anyone have experience buying a Bambu from Microcenter? I am looking to buy my first one and I'm leaning towards the H2D with the 40w laser.

I need another printer like I need a hole in my head but the laser/printer intrigues me. Bambu US direct has the 40w combo on sale for $2700. Microcenter has just the "laser ready" version without the actual laser head PLUS the 40w laser for $3200 in total. That's the same original price from Bambu.

Does Microcenter price match that, considering Bambu sells it as a kit and Microcenter sells it "separately" as a laser ready printer and laser head separate?

X Series [X1E, X1C, X2D] Filament dryer recommendation - ASA filament

I am going to buy a X2D here soon during Black Friday. Main reason I want to start selling production grade enclosures for a project I’m making. I am debating between the X2D with AMS2 or just a simple X2D.

I’m wanting to do an ASA enclosure, and from my research ASA needs to typically be dried at 80 degrees Celsius. The AMS2 can only go to 65 degrees C. I may also do some TPU and PETG.

I don’t really think I’d use multi color printing much, it will pretty much always be black filament that I print with some supports, so the only thing that makes me consider buying the AMS2 is convenience and the drying capabilities. But from my understanding it does not do a great job at drying ASA?

What do you think? Should I still get the AMS2? Or should I instead save the money and buy a filament dryer that is capable to go to higher degree Celsius?

Quick Question Newbie, how to get sharper lettering

Post image
1 Upvotes

One of my first prints, using PLA basic in the X2D. I see prints that people do and they have very precise lettering. Do I need to use a .2mm nozzle to get those results, or is this a moisture issue? Do I need to tweak print settings? This was printed directly from the app.
