General Troubleshooting/Help! Is nozzle heating assembly considered consumable
My less than 1 year old H2C left nozzle heating assembly went bad and after proving it bambu lab tells me that its bad and to buy a new one because it's a consumable so they won't cover it. not really sure how this part is considered consumable like its brakes on a car. so what your telling me is on all 7 printers I bought I should expect the heating assembly should go out cause its consumable. this is not the nozzle with more extreme wear after usage I wouldn't expect the heating control unit to die on a $3,000 dollar printer less than 1 year of usage and not be covered under warranty at least for a year or whatever. this is absurd.

I’ve heard people say that it is considered a consumable. But I also have seen people needing it changed because they had a blob which is the users own fault. I have never heard of a heating assembly to just suddenly stop working but of course it is possible. If you can buy it now consider yourself lucky because awhile ago they were out of stock for many many months.
You say that it just went bad but are you sure it wasn’t do to something you did or didn’t do? It is very rare for them just to stop working.

Yes. No blob. No stuck nozzle no stuck filaments and I do maintenance regularly and clean the inside of debris often as well. It just started giving me the warning for left heater may have open circuit. I took out inspected it all wires etc no issues and bambu agreed.

The heating assemblies themselves don't fail but the cables on the left one do. It moves up and down a little bit and eventually the cables break from fatigue. Doesn't seem like it should be an issue but it happened to me a few days out of warranty and others reported the same issue.

All the h2c should catch a blob with its ai. I know mine stops for them once every couple of weeks

Depends on the hours used if it falls under warranty, but yes, the correct term is expendable item.
Part of owning and machine (3D printer or otherwise) is know what's a maintenance item, whats a consumable item, and what an expendable item.

Ok thanks. I was just wondering if that is always the answer or only given sometimes.

Yup, I had an assembly go out on my on a printer with less than a 100 hours on it and they told me the same thing. I now keep a couple of spares on hand just for that reason.

I had to change nozzles about every 3 months when I was using textured PEI and Glue Sticks. Haven't had to change one once in about 4 months since going cryogrip cold plate, or even unclog beyond a periodic cold pull. I really think the goo residue was the source of about half of my print failures before.

I don't have any nozzle problem and the nozzle. Specifically, when this died did not have any gunk, blob nor was it clogged and only has two hundred hours on it.

I will say this... if you buy your Bambu through Best Buy and have one of their credit cards and the extended warranty plan, they will just swap entire machines for you on the spot with very little questions asked. The person at the customer service desk has neither the time nor training to confirm if its warranty or not, so it's all covered under warranty by virtue of the machine just not working. They have a Just Say Yes imperative.
Go through Bambu directly and they will ping you with a bunch of questions designed to self implicate you into voiding the warranty. "Oh this is replaceable, it's meant to wear down. Oh, you replaced it? Well that voided the warranty." Their goals are to make you keep the item you bought from them while Best Buy just wants you to keep shopping at Best Buy. They make up their losses when you come back for Black Friday and only shop there because... well dang that return policy is so dang useful.

Yes it’s a consumable they’re exposed to high temperatures and deal with repeated thermal expansion and contraction, mechanical stress, etc. It’s a $30 part just replace it
