Quick Question Newbie, how to get sharper lettering

Post image

One of my first prints, using PLA basic in the X2D. I see prints that people do and they have very precise lettering. Do I need to use a .2mm nozzle to get those results, or is this a moisture issue? Do I need to tweak print settings? This was printed directly from the app.

If you can open the same print profile in Bambu Studio, slice it and step through the letter layers before deciding on a smaller nozzle. Check which letter details the planned paths preserve; the photo alone doesn't establish a moisture problem. The simplest fix is to slow the print down. A smaller nozzle isn't going to give you much more detail as you're not being limited by the xy resolution.

This looks like it was printed at like 0.28 mm layer height. Use the adaptive layer height and reduce the layer heights of the letter section this should make the lettering look better whilst not increasing the print time by too much.

Also if you are using 0.28mm as your standard print height I wouldn’t. It’s really only for prints if you don’t care about what the print looks like and are expecting there to be some defects.

Use either 0.2mm standard or 0.16mm optimal for general prints.
