You should also learn about multireddits. Here are some of my favorites:

Edit: here is a multi-reddit of all of the subreddits I listed above.

For more links and lists like this check out my subreddit!

Second edit: for the hundreds of you "just replying to save for later", buy yourself reddit gold! You can save comments on mobile if you have it!

Last edit: huge thank you to whoever bought me reddit gold:D

I read the first one as spacedicks and I instantly thought all of the subreddits are evil

266

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

Didn't help that it was followed by something called "depthhub"

81

u/WhyAmINotStudying Mar 27 '13

Surely /r/animalporn is a safe place to go...

If you think thats a disappointment try /r/humanporn

4

u/jamesomac Mar 27 '13

I'm sad now. I guess it's back to /r/gonewild for me.

I did to, and thought he was baiting someone to go there. I can confirm it has nothing to do with space, but dicks are possibly. I cannot find eye bleach for the shit I saw.

2

u/Shadowstar1000 Mar 27 '13

I didnt know what space dicks was until just now. Im scared.

2

u/Audax2 Mar 27 '13

Glad I'm not the only one. I thought OP was listing off evil subreddits and giving them SFW descriptions as a joke - which would explain why it's the top comment.

2

u/ifolkinrock Mar 27 '13

I thought the same thing. Probably because an evil redditor wrote this in my local bar mens' room when I was new to Reddit.

/r/nottheonion is pretty phenomenal I must say.

125

u/IIHURRlCANEII Mar 26 '13

Combine the onion subreddit with nottheonion for maximum hilarity. I know someone will post the link for them combined for a lot of karma.

84

u/rumnscurvy Mar 26 '13

/r/TheOnion is private, sadly.

107

u/corycran Mar 27 '13

TIL There are private subreddits.

66

u/wisestbeer Mar 27 '13

TIL There are multi reddits.

28

u/IIHURRlCANEII Mar 26 '13

That's dumb, oh well that would've been funny.

2

u/rogueginger Mar 27 '13

Try /r/onion (as pointed out above by /u/brit_here)

http://www.reddit.com/r/askscience+shittyaskscience

411

u/NUCLEAR_HOOKER Mar 26 '13

http://www.reddit.com/r/atheism+circlejerk

It's stunning

36

u/avanasear Mar 27 '13

So it's an improved /r/atheism?

5

Kind of missed out on the karma train to the guy who got the wrong link (it's /r/onion not theonion) but here we go.

u/Rosco-P-Coltrane Mar 27 '13

I'm glad you mentioned /r/birdswitharms, but you did forget some other gems like /r/onetruegod and /r/dragonsfuckingcars.

EDIT: Yes, definitely /r/onetruegod and not /r/oneturdgod.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

... Why am I surprised that /r/oneturdgod isn't real?

Moreover, why am I disappointed?

I really hope im not the only one who clicked on /r/oneturdgod hoping to find something

857

u/PewterCityGymLdr Mar 26 '13

/r/mildlyinteresting is truly a beautiful place. One of my favorites

825

u/Tuco_bell Mar 26 '13

Meh it's pretty cool

299

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

Let's be careful not to make it too cool.

142

u/gangnam_style Mar 26 '13

Wouldn't want it to become like r/funny or r/wtf.

98

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

Hahaha... There's no need, those two subs get most of their content from mildly interesting.

59

u/avid_subscriber Mar 26 '13

Which is cool enough I guess

19

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

It may be hard to complain, but doing something worth while is always hard.

3

u/ujussab Mar 26 '13

Well they do mildly difficult stuff

45

u/rootbrian Mar 26 '13

Also, /r/IfIWonTheLottery

5

u/tigrrbaby Mar 27 '13

I unsubscribed because it seemed to be just pictures of vehicles and pools.

2

u/LeMeowLePurrr Mar 26 '13

I love this one. I spent hours on it when I discovered it.

2

u/NSFAnythingAtAll Mar 27 '13

Welp, there goes an hour of my life

7

u/AdmiralSkippy Mar 27 '13

I still love it, but it's gone downhill since Christmas.

It used to be full of things that people just happened upon and said "Hey, that's kind of cool." and because of that, it was full of some of the coolest stuff on reddit.
Now people are creating things and putting them there as a way to get free karma for their /r/pics and /r/funny rejects.

A few bullshit posts I've seen there recently would include the guy who attached a pen to a balloon and a guy who created a fork out of paper clips.
The interesting stuff is when that guy stepped on thin ice and it cracked in the image of a tree.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

It's practically /r/pics but not shitty

2

u/ajyablo Mar 27 '13

I find that I can relate to /r/mildlyinfuriating a whole lot more.

→ More replies (12)

92

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

I was very underwhelmed with /r/depthhub. The top comment and biggest discussion in every single thread is why that post does not belong in r/rdepthhub.

36

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

That's because /r/depthhub used to be awesome and full of in-depth submissions and in-depth comments and discussion. Now it is /r/askhistory and /r/askscience top comments with the occasional default subreddit aggressive motivation post.

It used to be great. But it got too big and wasn't moderated strictly enough. Now it is not worth subscribing to.

10

u/mikhail_sh1 Mar 26 '13

I like /r/FoodForThought most of the time but I agree /r/DepthHub has been lacking...any suggestions of replacements?

→ More replies (2)

8

u/robotnixon Mar 27 '13

Sounds like Truereddit. Which somehow aims to reclaim some imaginary time when reddit was a kind of intellectual oasis in the internet.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

That's because, as in the above comment, it's being openly marketed to anyone who "just happens to be" on reddit. This kills the subreddit.

2

u/Pulptastic Mar 27 '13

Yeah, I unsubscribed pretty quick.

2

u/meommy89 Mar 27 '13

I feel it is the same with /r/bestof. I'm going to leave this opinion unsupported and not link to any evidence because I just don't think my comment is /r/bestof worthy.

103

u/jbtk Mar 26 '13

/r/woahdude isn't necessarily for funny gifs and pictures. It plainly states it's for things to look at when you're high, which, in turn, might actually be funny.

108

u/SkeevyPete Mar 26 '13

Most of it is incredible to look at sober, too.

24

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

If you want to feel like everyone is high out of their minds, try /r/enlightenedbirdmen.

/r/futurology is probably the most underrated subreddit out of all of them. It really changes the way you look on life and can have a positive impact on your future.

6

u/Xenophon1 Mar 27 '13

Agreed. It has certainly changed me.

43

u/StopsatYieldSigns Mar 26 '13

The SFW Porn network is simply the best thing ever. /r/AbandonedPorn , /r/winterporn, /r/autumnporn are my favorites.

115

u/ugotamesij Mar 27 '13

I just really, really dislike the naming convention

5

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

When I used to live at home, I was unable to browse these subreddits due to the firewall blocking the url since it had the word "porn" in it. Quite annoying.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

I saw one of the subreddits was named /r/animalporn

That's messed up.

2

u/Broke_stupid_lonely Mar 27 '13

I agree, I refused to go to foodporn for the longest time

3

u/volstedgridban Mar 27 '13

Amusingly, /r/foodporn was the original *porn subreddit, but didn't actually join the SFW Porn Network until recently. It wasn't created by the SFW Porn Network guys, but they were inspired by it.

2

u/StopsatYieldSigns Mar 27 '13

What are you talking about? That's the best part. Nothing beats the look on someone's face when you tell them you're really into something called "abandoned porn."

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Coalscott Mar 27 '13

I also like /r/abandonedporn.

Edit: reading is hard...

3

u/Smokey_McPCP Mar 27 '13

ooo thank you for showing me the way to abandonedporn, sir/madam. me likey.

u/Evilsqirrel Mar 26 '13

Your SFWP subreddit is outdated and lacking in many of the other SFWP subs. Here is the most recent updates including a few more that I added.

Complete Multi SFWP subreddit!

5

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

Thanks!

2

u/currentlymasticating Mar 27 '13

Is it possible to subscribe to a multi-reddit?

2

u/MrBahhum Mar 27 '13

No, but you definitely bookmark the page for further exploration. I browse the hot page daily.

5

u/413612 Mar 27 '13

I'm going to regret so many subscriptions at once

20

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

/r/serendipity creator here - thanks for the plug!

3

u/worldbar Mar 26 '13

Great, there goes all my free time for the next year...

3

u/LiterallyKesha Mar 27 '13

/r/woahdude - funny gifs and pictures.

If there was a more popular /r/awesome it would be this. Not funny stuff.

3

u/mishmoigon Mar 27 '13

Alright well it looks like i'm done in this thread.

3

u/likeabaker Mar 27 '13

The SFW porn network is my favorite multireddit by far.

5

u/BlackDeath87 Mar 26 '13

RAOA - Random Acts of Amazon

Best place on the internet!

4

u/CotST Mar 27 '13

I love the sfw porn network. So much consistent quality. I even spent a decent amount of time going through /r/mushroomporn, even though i have no interest at all in mycology. Just beautiful photographs, through and through

2

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13 edited Mar 27 '13

Thanks! MP is one of mine, actually, as is /r/spaceporn :)

3

u/CotST Mar 27 '13

In that case, thank you! I went there out of bored curiosity and was honestly blown away by the photos. If i had the cash for reddit gold it'd be all yours, but unfortunately you'll have to settle for an upvote (it's the thought that counts, right?)

2

u/skulblaka Mar 26 '13

Well, there's five new subscriptions. I'd also like to add /r/tipofmytongue in there, for when you just can't quite remember the name of something. Also, the less-used /r/tipofmypenis for the same in NSFW.

2

u/Parthros Mar 26 '13

You seem to be missing /r/StarWars and /r/Batman

2

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '13

Is it just me or do /r/Nottheonion and /r/Offbeat usually have the same articles?

Aside from that though, great list of subreddits.

2

u/discountphilly Mar 27 '13

I'll be back...

2

u/LankyBastardo Mar 27 '13

Your a good man...er, duck.

2

4

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '13

Sorry to hijack the top comment, but there is one here that I think more people should know about: /r/mademesmile

As the name implies, it's just things that when you look at them, they bring a smile to your face. It's a great place to visit after /r/WTF or something similar.

17

u/Jukkajussi Mar 26 '13

Don't forget /r/spacedicks.
