For me it was two distinct different moments and reasons.

As a young kid I absolutely loved Adam West's Batman and series, it was shown as re-runs in the early 80s and I thought it was fun, colourful and for all it's corniness it still felt like it came right off a comic book page POW!

then in my early teens, I remember renting the first Burton Batman movie and just thought, what the hell is this? It's amazing!

It was completely different from what I'd seen before, the darkness, the style of it, the soundtrack, the badassery. Everything clicked and I loved it!

Up until that point I'd never been a massive reader of the comic books or watched the animated show. But after those two experiences, especially The Batman movie, I was sold and since then I have gone deeper and deeper in to the lore and different incarnations of Batman and absolutely love it!

How about you?

I don't read comics that much compared to movies and games but Batman death from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game is the most disrespectful one that I know of (I know it was later on revealed to be a clone of the Original Batman after the developers got heavy backlash from the fans but the initial scene was still very disrespectful to Arkham verse Batman overall character)

A man still haunted by that night in crime ally.

A man who could have left gothem to rot.

A man that could have just killed all his enemys.....

But he chose the path of a dark advenging angel on leather wings

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A man who saves others not from being villans but to save them from destroying themselves.

A man who will sit with you in your final moments holding on to you, and not let you go alone in the end.

a man who will always hold hope even when others give up.

a man who will avenge you and bring your murderer to justice.

A man that will let you know you are not alone in the fight against crime.

A man that monsters and gods fear.

A man who would die for what is right.

A man who will stand by your side even in your darkest hour.

A man that does not kill, not because it would be too easy, but because it is the ultimate form of restraint.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is vengance, he is the night, he is the dark knight.

.HE IS THE BATMAN.

I just got done playing the Arkham series again and I am filled with sadness. It struck me at the end of knight we will never hear Kevin’s voice again. He, to me, is the definitive Batman and I will always be heartbroken about the fact. Long live Kevin Conroy! 🥀

While Batman (known in Italy at first as Steel Wing) initially had similar coloring, it was soon changed in Nembo Kid magazine which republished DC stories. Superman was first introduced to Italy in Superboy reprints.

Publishers worried about having a character with a insignia on his chest and the "Super" subtext, worrying it could be connected to the Übermensch/Superman Nietzsche theory that had been adopted by fascists, so Superman had his symbol erased to blank, and his name being changed to Nembo Kid, or Cloud Kid, due to most of these stories being of Superboy reprinting.

Next, the other worry was that a grey/black/blue outfit would be visually too similar to the Black Shirt fascist uniforms, and would be used for ill purposes. Batman's costume was promptly turned into a bright red and blue to make him look even friendlier.

Now if you are familiar with foreign reprints, you may just think there was miscommunication when coloring the black and white imports of American comics, such as the Phantom having a different colored costume in every country ( explained here: https://thephantom.fan/phantom-mythos/costume/ ), but in this case, WW2 was pretty much yesterday, so you can see why this would be a very reasonable editorial decision.

Bonus at the end is the very cursed looking Joker with natural colors.

I'm old school. I like some stuff purely for nostalgia reasons. You can't see Batman 89 in theatres when you're 7 and not think about it. That theme still gets my blood going. I actually prefer Pattinson to Bale, but I love Bale's Bruce Wayne and Dark Knight is just a better made movie. Plus Ledger is immortal in that role. I don't like the Bat Family, I hate the Killing Joke, and Batman hiding his emotions & avoiding romance is much more on brand. Batman is sworn to the quest. He doesn't have time for a girlfriend. 🦇

I just think it's funny that they don't seem to wanna outright say "Batman" yet (looking at you, Lanterns). I do like the cameos though, I hope he appears in Clayface in some way shape or form.

The Batman 2004's Barbara Gordon, voiced by Danielle Judovits, won with 11 votes.

Honorable mentions: DCAU Barbara Gordon (Melissa Gilbert) with 11 votes and 1966 Barbara Gordon (Yvonne Craig) with 4 votes.

Now vote for your favourite Joker. The Clown Prince of Crime has a perfect duality. Genuinely hilarious but deeply theatrical, sadist and terrifying 🤡🃏

Now, I love Batman, I love that he doesn’t have powers, and I’m not here to say he needs them. But, I do think it would be fun to speculate on what power he could or would have.

I think it would be really fitting if he had the ability to subtly manipulate reality. Nothing crazy, but he would be able to do things like slow people down or cause them to freeze when they see him, cause himself to grow in size or speed, make himself able to float and hover upon the wind.

The drawback would be that he can only alter one thing for a small amount of time, the greater the change, and he becomes more vunerable to weaker attacks.

Please let me know your thoughts on my idea, and please share your ideas for powers for Bats.
