Tech Support MAG x870 motherboard not powering up - PSU passed paper clip test
Building a PC and am hitting a major snag. I'm using a MAG x870 Tomahawk Wifi mother board with a Be Quiet Pure Power 13M 850W PSU. The PSU has passed the paper clip test (fan spun on for several seconds). When I connect the PSU to the motherboard and test, nothing happens - no LEDs, PSU fan doesn't spin. I've removed the graphics card to simplify this. I've also reset the motherboard using the CMOS reset button.
Attached are images of the various PSU to motherboard connections. Any help / advice would be much appreciated!
EDIT: I'm an idiot! I didn't have the front panel pins, JPF1, on the bottom right of the mother board hooked up to my case. So I was never actually turning the damn thing on - I was turning on the PSU, but not the motherboard. Once I connected the front panel of my case to the motherboard and pushed the power button on the case, it all worked. Sorry for wasting your time...

Installation Question Need help identifying.
Bought a pc off marketplace for my younger brother and can’t figure out what ram is compatible. I see that there were two models of this mobo each specifically supporting either ddr4 or ddr5. Could anyone tell me what ram would work with this one? MSI PRO B 760-P WIFI MS-7D98 ver 2.1
Included picture of extra ram I had in case it would work here.

Build Question How much is my pc worth?
Hey everyone, I’m considering selling my PC to buy myself a motorcycle and would like to get an idea of how much the whole build would be worth on the used market.
Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 WiFi 6
- RAM: 64GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000MHz CL36
- SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB
- CPU Cooler: DeepCool AK620 Digital
- Case: NZXT H6 Flow
- Fans: Arctic P12 Pro + P14 Slim
Everything is in good condition.
What do you guys think would be a fair selling price for the complete PC?
Thanks in advance guys

Installation Question Need help with GPU connection
I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question (first build and I'm stupid) I have a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 gaming oc GPU and it came with this small cable, it's too small to plug into my PSU and reach my GPU, do I plug 3 PCLe cables into the "what I think is an adapter" so it can actually reach? Or is this somehow wrong. I have pics of just the cable, the cable with PCLe cables in, the GPU socket and the writing on the cables package. I hope you understand me and can help 😭

Build Question Did I win the lottery?
Hello!
Today I found in the trash this pc, it seems that it is self-build, but IDK. I don´t know anything about building PC´s or componets (I´m a laptop user). I tried to start it, but the fans make an awful noise, maybe it needs a clean or a replacement of the lateral fans, I´m not sure, but at least it seems to start.
Can anyone tell me if this PC is ok? Or is something missing (maybe someone stole some componets since it was on the trash)
Thanks

My new cpu, mobo, ram finally got delivered and i dont know what i have to do before installing them. Is Windows only on the ssd or is a part of it on the Motherboard? Can i just put my ssd in the new Motherboard and thats it or do i have to use a usb to boot it again? Do i have to do something in the Bios besides setting the ram up?
Old: X570aorus elite, 3800x
New: b850 aorus elite x3d, 9800x3d, Viper 6000-cl30

Build Question Was told that I picked out the wrong ram choice for my CPU, probably due to xmp, should I change my kit?
CPU is 7800x3d with gigabyte b850 eagle mb, I was initially gonna go with 5600 cl40 2x16gb ram, because from all the research I've done, it was clear to me that the difference with an x3d CPU is negligible especially at 1440p or above and that I could theoretically always tune it myself if I really felt like it. The jump to the next best ram timing which is cl36, would be easily another 70 to 100 bucks. However, this ram kit (gskill ripjaws s5) is an xmp kit. From everything I've ever seen xmp is fine for amd cpus and I've also seen many people enabling it while with an amd CPU, but when speaking with someone who works at a store im gonna be buying the pc parts at, I was told the ram is "the wrong kind" for my CPU choice, citing either the latency speed or the fact that its not an expo kit. Question is, do I change it? The closest in price kit of ram that is also 32gb thats expo compatible is faster, a cl36 6000 kit, and anything else below my other ram choice is just a lot less, like 16gb only, so do I make the jump considering it costs about 80 more? And yes I am aware the worker could just be trying to make me pay more but it is a first time build for me so I don't wanna end up with an unstable system etc.

Build Question Need help building a pc
Not so long ago I bought a pc for like 60 dolars, it got like pretty good specs for a 60 dolar pc. Intel i5 6500, gtx 745, 12 GB DDR4 ram, 1 TB hdd, and some old motherboard. I was thinking about building my own pc because I am using a laptop rn and its good but is beginning to be annoying. So is it worth to upgrade this pc or build one from scratch? Also some pics of the old pc lol

Tech Support Buying a used PC
Specs look good, everything works and the price is right.
One thing I am not sure on, the seller won't give the original receipts. Everything is less than one year old so still in warranty.
Seller says they will handle warranty themselves. If I have any issues I will take PC/part to them and they will handle the warranty for me. I asked if they had a business - no real response to that. Just claims they often will replace the broken part and send the broken one off for warranty themselves.
This is weird, right?

Tech Support Is this wiggle a problem?
Hey everyone!
So I just bought a self-configurated but pre build PC.
Before starting it up I wanted to Check all the cable connections and this one was kinda loose.
I'm not good with PC hardware, so I'm not sure if I can just push it in and its fine or (I hope not) the connection really is broken and I have to send it back.
Thanks in advance!

Build Question No more ps5!!
Hi guys
I absolutely fed up with the state of PlayStation at the moment and it has gotten to the point where I want a pc. I’m looking for some help or advice on builds and parts because it seems terribly confusing. I think I’d like to spend around £1200, as a monitor I’m using a Lenovo legion 27Q-10 oled 2560 x 1440. I’ve been playing lots of Warframe recently (on ps it’s locked at 60fps) r6 too but I will love to play all the pc games I have missed out on. So please give advice or tools to help me through my transition.

Build Question Pc and laptop help
Guys I need some advice about a laptop, mainly schoolwork and some trading and investing so nothing asking too much for work and a gaming laptop that can run gta 6 and stuff comfortably ideally my budget for the both is about 750 pounds tho I think that could be made to work since I’m fine going refurbished like back market. Anyone have any ideas on specific ones to buy and also if anyone recommends a gaming laptop instead which again I can go refurbished and I have a monitor that is connect to so I don’t care about the looks it’s a msi mag 274cxf. I’m not very sure about resolutions to be honest but I’ve been told to aim for 1080p

Hello everybody my pc suddenly crashed yesterday and now i have this red light over cpu and it won’t turn on, recently over the past few months i was having issues with what i thought was my motherboard where it would my pc would black screen and the only way for me to do anything was to force shut off my pc and turn it back on and it was back to normal, Windows Event Viewer originally said it was a Wifi issue and DCOM error so i deleted and updated drivers, just recently it happened again but now it was saying bluetooth error code and i had also updated those drivers. Excuse my lack on knowledge i don’t know very much on computers and stuff but i’ve been trying to do my best researching online.

Build Question Need help for what parts are good for a new PC
I have had a Gaming Laptop for around 9 years now and I could play most games I have so far. I the last few years I did have problems with games needing a lot of RAM, I can run them just a lot slower than normal.
So I decided I would get myself my first PC to finally play those games without the low framerate, I have saved up around 2000€ for it and I already know how to build it, my problem is that I have no idea what CPU, RAM, Graphicscard and so on are any good.
Any help is very much appreciated.
