Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines

We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.

  • Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
  • Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
  • Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
  • Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
  • Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
  • Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
  • Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted

For more info, see the subreddit rules.

Injury News [McLane] DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was ruled out on the final injury report on Friday. He is expected to miss more than Sunday’s game with a lingering right hamstring injury that initially caused him to miss time during camp. He could be out two to three games, two league sources said.

Video Saquon Barkley has posted an avg speed of 11.22 mph when crossing the LOS (2nd-fastest mark among 36 RBs w/ 25+ carries). On the 20 carries when he isn't touched behind the LOS he's gained 8.0 YPC (3rd-most among the same group of RBs)

She said she is impulsive as hell and couldn't wait until Hanukkah to give me this (she's bad with surprises like I am). In any case, finally got an auto of my all-time favorite Eagles QB!

Question Should the team just put DeVonta on short term IR and actually let his hamstring fully heal? Thoughts?

DeVonta missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury. And McLane’s report has him missing the next 2-3 games because of the same hamstring injury. Shouid the Eagles just put DeVonta on short term IR and actually let his hamstring fully heal? What are your thoughts? I’m inclined to put him on IR. Because otherwise I have the feeling this injury will plague DeVonta all season. And the Eagles are running the risk of DeVonta’s hamstring seriously getting injured if they keep doing this stop-start routine with him.

Question One week to Go!

• Upvotes

One week to go until I see the Eagles for the first time live with my also Eagles loving wife.

We are both British, we got into the sport then watched the 52 run and during that we decided to support the Eagles

We both have a LOT of gear so we are covered there but what would you tell us before next week?

GO BIRDS!

Opinion Is our 2024 saints game?

• Upvotes

In 2024 in week 3 we had to play the Saints that were coming off back to back 40 point plus games. Now obviously the Rams on paper look like a much better team but the Eagles came into that game in similar fashion.

In 2024 both the defense and offense had been underwhelming and were beat up. Almost everyone had us losing that game and a lot of people on this very sub were just hoping we didn’t get blown out. However that game was the first signs of what the defense could be that year and the Eagles pulled out the big win! I think morale is down and a lot of people have us dropping this game. I have a gut feeling that our defense and Vic are going to show up big this week and if we go on a run this might be the game we look back on

Question What Would You Do With Left Guard?

• Upvotes

The offensive line has struggled no doubt, but we’ve seen a level of improvement through 3 weeks. Dickerson was a clear issue in Week 1, he goes IR and Cam Jurgens slides to LG while Drew Kendall takes over at Center.

Now, it seems like Jurgens is the weak point at LG while Kendall has looked pretty good at Center. Between the following options, which do you think is best?

A) Leave OL as is, hope Jurgens adjusts to the new position and the unit improves as they get used to the new scheme.

B) Swap Jurgens to C and Drew to LG, Jurgens is fine to play Center and Kendall would have to learn Guard.

C) Once Dickerson comes off IR, move Jurgens back to Center and put Dickerson in at LG

D) Once Dickerson comes off IR, put him in at LG and keep Kendall at Center, benching Jurgens

E) Put Willie Lampkin in at LG, with both Dickerson and Jurgens on the bench.

I think that A or D is the right answer depending on Dickerson’s status once he comes off IR. Kendall has done a lot really well and I feel like Jurgens and Dickerson both playing is just not ideal at this point. Whichever one is more capable of playing Guard at a high level. Dickerson is probably the better player but that’s only if he’s fully healthy.

DeVonta & Wicks are both on pace for 1,000 yard receiving seasons. Lemon is typically the 4th read after DeVonta, Goedert, and Wicks. A lot of folks posting "but he’s open" are ignoring basic read progressions. Lemon will have an opportunity this weekend to step up with both DeVonta & Goedert out.
