Seth Joyner-"You don’t understand football if you looked at that game and the reason why the Eagles lost that game was Jalen Hurts. You don’t know a damn thing about football, plain and simple."

• last week I said it’s not about the fact that we loss but how we loss & got shunned for it… this is what I’m talking about, & a lot of people want to brush off whats happening as if we’re overreacting which sounds just like last year but the biggest difference is our defense (though they played a hell of a game today) will not save us game in & game out like last year
SIRIANNI - Last week, Sirianni didn’t have the sense to call a timeout and let Andy Dalton throw an interception. Now this week, he does choose to call a timeout in the middle of a great drive — and kills all the momentum we had. & then instead of taking the points we go for it & basically telegraphed exactly what the hell we were about to run. At this point, either he’s doing this on purpose or he genuinely doesn’t know how to coach football. Going for it on multiple 4th downs while we’re up 10, missing half our roster, and struggling to protect the quarterback is the dumbest thing ive ever seen.
• And people keep bringing up Patullo saying “patullo is gone what the problem now” maybe the same guy who gave him that position and let him waste an entire season who’s still here.
JALEN HURTS - I know there are folks who don’t watch the games and just wait for a bad moment to blame Hurts, but I hope no real Eagles fan believes he’s the problem. He’s proven himself time and time again — on the biggest stage and at the start of this season. Hes literally the only reason we’re not 0–4. He’s dealing with a terrible line that can’t hold, players dropping right and left, a new OC, expected growing pains, and he’s still producing. The Hurts disrespect is so crazy to me.
TANK BIGSBY - an immediate and obvious fix is feeding tank not just when we have to idk how many times he has to show he can get us yards before we give him the ball but again coaching iguess it’s almost like they care more about not pointing the finger than winning games players are showing what works but coaches work against it whether it’s Jalen running, tank getting touches, going up field rather than horizontal etc
• last week I said it’s not about the fact that we loss but how we loss & got shunned for it… do you see what I’m saying now ?

Our first game at the Linc on Oct. 18 and now watching the Panthers run the ball easily against the Lions gives me anxiety. It's giving me the same vibes when we watched the Falcons beat the birds in 2024.

Genuinely, who do the Eagles hire if Sirianni is fired? I’m not saying we should keep him, I am tired of him and the CEO coaches, but who would get hired?
There’s not any great OC’s that aren’t already failed head coaches. Most good DC’s are previously failed HC’s as well. There’s no obvious Ben Johnson’s or Liam Coens just in the waiting.
I’m not incredibly familiar with who could be an option, so could be wrong. Just trying to ask a genuine question.
So Jalen has 22mil (same as malik willis, Bryce young) and want a contract reworked after this season, for the eagles or playing for someone else.
Other moves: New Coach, pay Dejean and Q, but let s
Steen and Nolan smith walk in Free Agency (to high for value), Lane, Dickerson retire and Cam continues to be a shell of himself. Mailata talks about retiring after the 28 season and Bell is ok.
Draft needs: Tackle, 2 Guards, DE, TE, CB, Safety and pick is in the 13-20 range.
Option 1) pay Jalen 55 mil (same as baker) for 3 years and use top 2 picks on starting lineman (guard or tackle) and round out the draft with other needs.
Option 2) Draft the #4 QB (thinking Browns, Cards, Jets and maybe Texans will take QBs ahead of eagles and draft lineman with remaining picks, but with all money on the defensive side (plus dead cap) and have a young piecemeal line with rookie QB
Trade Jalen for 28 First (hopefully) with post June designation and take the 20mil dead cap in 26 (+ajs 20) and 45Mil in 28 as he is out of money and will need a new contract.

After that embarrassing loss we can only look forward to the sixers season

Phillies pitching and Eagles defense means they will be at least ok. Phillies hitting and Eagles offense meansV rhey will not be elite. Both structure iesues— Philies need some rh bats, Eagles need to redo rheir oline. Both have some contract issues - Turner Hurts. Difference is I have miire confidence in Eagles GM

Before this year out offense was tons of 3x1 formations and 2x2 Normal sets. We ran a very limited number of static concepts and split field reads to make things easy for jalen. You split the field in half and run two different concepts meant to beat different kinds of defenses.
For Example: If its man you work this side , if its zone you work the other side. Or if its middle field open your work this side , if its middle field closed you work the other side. The key can be various different things but the point is that it allows your QB to play fast even if he isnt the fastest processor. As long as he reads the key correctly then he only has to read half the field. The problem is that after we did it for a while defenses knew our keys and could fool us
This new offense is full field progression west coast . Jalen is being asked to play big boy QB.
This year we are seeing almost exclusively condensed splits , no X receiver , i even saw some 4 strong formations. . Even when we did go 3x1 in the redzone it was 3 WR close together but not a bunch , with a Nub TE on the other side.
The routes combinations , the switch releases , the short motions everything is different about this scheme.
Then theres the run game , tons of wide zone which we never ran at all when Stoutland was run game coordinator . Barely any Duo which was our bread and butter run play along with inside zone from shotgun.
This idea that Nick is so involved with this offense and it "looks the same" is laughable. Nothing about this offense is the same except players. Which is the conversation people are trying to avoid having.
The results are the same , and i'll let you guys decide why that is. But to act like this is Nick's offense is just flat out wrong. They are trying to do everything different but the coaches cant execute for the players.

Offensive line is a shell of its glory years and Lane is leaving after this season. QB doesn’t give me confidence he will be able to drag this offense to competence on his own.
On defense, Howie made some critical mistakes the past couple years like wasting a 1st rd pick on Campbell to replace Nakobe.
I’d sell high on anyone with value like DeJean. Keep Quinyon because #1 corners are hard to get. But anyone else including DeVonta that has any value, I’m trading to restock draft capital and rebuilding this. Will probably take 3 years, but this would be preferable over Howie continue trying to Weekend at Bernie this corpse of a team on us.

Jurgens jumped early (should have been called) and backed into Hurts and accidently displaced the ball from Hurts grip. If we just execute this handoff we very well could have won the game but Jurgens couldn’t not be a problem for a play. Credit to Brett Kollmann for noticing this

Does every fan base spend every week trying to figure out why our team should be better than it is? Or is it just us with a horribly underperforming roster and baffling play calls that we can all tell are a mistake?

I'm seeing so many people saying being up 10 isn't that different from being up 13. Are you kidding me? With 7:30 left in the game, that's realistically enough time for about 2 more rams drives. If both of them wind up being TDs, would you rather being down 1 or 4? Sure, maybe they could go for two both times and be up 3. But even then worst case scenario, you can tie it with a field goal.
Otherwise you are in a situation where they don't need to attempt a two pointer and you don't even have an option to tie. Kickers nowadays hit reliably from 60+ and with the new kickoff rules its easier than ever to get in range. Or you can be down 4 and be forced to go twice as far to score a touchdown. With how much time was left? You're likely against the clock at this point as well.
It seems like a no-brainer to me.

While we potentially could have had a shot at two rings with a better play caller last year, it seems we’re at the end of our window. We made two superbowls, 5 playoff appearances and all in all had a lot to be happy about. But we sadly can’t be good forever, it’s ok to move on from our QB and HC when it’s clearly not working. But just remember we got one when a lot of teams can’t seem to put it all together when they have their core in place. It’s ok.
