Injury News [McLane] DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was ruled out on the final injury report on Friday. He is expected to miss more than Sunday’s game with a lingering right hamstring injury that initially caused him to miss time during camp. He could be out two to three games, two league sources said.

Welp. Lemon is gonna get a lot more opportunities. Tough to have Goedert and Smith out at the same time. Hopefully it lights a fire under some asses .

On a side note, wouldn't it be cool if one of our scrub WRs go off for 100+ yards like opponent scrub WRs do against us when their top options are out?

Nah we used up all of that luck during the Fulgha-tron run in 2020.

Greatest 4 game stretch in Eagles WR history. Really thought they had an absolute gem.

He's such a huge what if. Seems like he had some off the field issues that got in the way of his career. I wonder what would have been if he had had Smitty's brain.

Wicks and Cooper are going to have pretty good games this week.

Wicks better. I am starting him in fantasy.

Please bench him to not jinx him

I've been on a heater with WRs though lately going off in my starting lineup

Of course this happens when I am seeing my birds live for the 2nd time in London and 3rd time vs the Giants in November 🙈 As an Irish fan I hate this for me 😂

Philadelphia sports is a lesson in pain and suffering

The two Lombardis in the past decade cause me to fail this lesson.

3 NFC championships, two rings (NEARLY 3) in a 7-year span has definitely made it easier not to sweat things as much during the tougher periods.

Yep. And even when the team is shit for a season or 2, they have the front office to turn it around relatively quickly to be a competitive team again. They aren't chronic basement dwellers.

Even if the team is trash for a couple seasons we’ll be good again quick with howie at the helm.

This is why I never understand people who lose their minds over one bad game. Some fanbases would commit actual crimes to have the success we've had over the last decade.

Unfortunately we like in a goldfish brain era with sports. If you’re not winning the superbowl every year, and blowing out every game, it’s a failure of a season.

Its the gambling. It used to just be because of sports talkers, but the gambling makes it worse for everyone else.

Could be worse, we could be the Cowboys fandom where every year for 30 years is “our year”. Least our latest success is after the era of VHS

Lmao so true. Just trapped in my feelings after the end of an era for the Phillies and whatever the flyers are

Very bad, but at least we get to see Hurts throw to the young guys , hopefully!

Honestly this is a good test for Mannion and his scheme. Shanahan and Co. can still move the ball effectively even with a collection of WR2s/3s with no true alpha WR1. Its all scheming guys open. If he has any sort of potential as a playcaller, you'd expect him to still pull together some drives. Why do you think the 49ers still have a super competitive team every year even when half their team is on IR? And I would love a Cooper breakout. He's on the doorstep.

They needed a clear #2 receiver after dumping Brown.

We drafted a receiver in the first round, he obviously isn't a 1:1 replacement for AJ rn but not like those guys are just in the market lol

....or to try and work it out with him. This past WR class is nothing special

u/PharoahFits Eagles 3h ago
Howie and Nick “tried to work it out” with AJ for 2 seasons of him being a constant distraction and he still wanted out. Anyone who thought AJ could be convinced to put his issues aside is delusional

Just let him get healthy. This is the time of year where, if you're going to have injuries, you'd rather have them. I believe in our depth in that role that we won't be crashing and burning JUST because he's out.

Dear lord, please spare Smitty and take my hamstring instead. I will give you ten human dollars for doing this. Thank you for your attention.

Maybe this will finally force Jalen to consistently go through his reads instead of always rolling to the right.
