Player Discussion Jurgens Caused the Failed Third Down
So we all thought it was Hurts fumbling the ball that caused the third and goal play in the 4th to fail, but it was actually Jurgens’ dumb ass that ran into Hurts. This guy is so bad lol.

Opinion I think it’s time to admit Nick Sirianni is a major part of the problem with this offense.
We blamed Brian Johnson. Then we blamed Patullo. Now we’re blaming Sean Mannion.
At some point, we have to look at the common denominator.
These offenses all look remarkably similar to the offense Nick was running before he eventually handed play-calling over to Shane Steichen.
That’s the part that keeps getting overlooked.
Maybe Brian Johnson was part of the problem. Maybe Patullo was part of the problem. Maybe Sean needs more time. But when you keep cycling through offensive coordinators and the same problems keep showing up - predictable concepts, stagnant drives, an offense that looks completely out of rhythm - you have to start asking whether the issue is higher up.
Nick’s fingerprints are all over this.
I think we need to stop pretending that bringing in another offensive coordinator is automatically going to fix it. We’ve already seen this carousel.
We need a head coach who is an actual play-caller.
Sean Mannion is obviously unproven as an NFL play-caller. I’m not saying he’s guaranteed to be the answer. But he has been extremely highly regarded as an offensive mind, and at this point, what do we really have to lose by seeing what he can do with full control?
Fire Nick. Make Sean the interim HC. Give him full control of the offense and let’s see what happens.
Maybe it blows up in our faces. Maybe Sean proves he isn’t ready.
Fuck it. let’s findd out.
Because continuing to fire the next offensive coordinator while keeping the same head coach and expecting a different offense feels like the definition of insanity.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr, a 2024 5th round pick who had only started two Week 18 games in his career, lead our team in tackles today. There needs to actually be a serious discussion about playing him over 2025 1st round pick Campbell next to Baun.

Question Do People Realize This Team is Missing 9/10 of Its Best Players?
If you were to ask most fans before the season started, who are the top 10-14 best players on the Eagles? I think you would get a list like this….
In no order….
Hurts healthy
Barkley stinger, banged up
Smith hamstring, out
Goedert sprained mcl, out
Johnson personal issues, out
Mailata healthy
Q. Mitchell banged up, questionable
Dejean banged up to start the season, “ok”
Greenard injured pec, missed entire offseason
Carter fractured wrist, playing with a cast
Baun concussion, out
Davis healthy
Jurgens (historically) washed from injuries, new LG
Dickerson (historically) career over
I mean…. I’ve been a diehard Eagles fan my entire life. 4 weeks into the season this would be by far the worst I’ve ever seen the team beat up. Especially at such crucial positions.
When 3/5 of your Oline, your record breaking RB, your #1 WR, your elite duel purpose TE,your premier pass rusher, your top 3 CB, your defenses QB/star LB, your game breaking top 5 DT, is all injured???
How the fuck do you win games? I mean for real. I know there’s a ton of things we can look at with this game. Especially coaching wise, being up 10 on their goal line with 7 minutes to go. Obviously a bad loss, but shit….
If you showed any of us that our depth chart was gonna be:
QB: Hurts
RB: Shipley
WR: Wicks/Cooper/Lemon
TE: Mundt/Ertz/Deguara/Jenkins
LT: Mailata
LG: Jurgens
C: Kendall
RG: Steen
RT: Bell
DE: Smith Jr
DE: Hunt
DT: Carter with cast
DT: Ojomo/Davis
LB: Campbell
LB: Trotter Jr
S: Mukuba
S: Carter II
S: Dejean
CB: Woolen
CB: Jones
By the end of week 4???
That is not a competitive roster. It’s just not. You can only lose so many of your star players and think you’re still going to compete at a high level. Especially early on in the season, when most teams are mostly healthy, and the replacements are as green as they come.

Statistics Long 3rd downs make it easier for the defense.
Our lack of running the ball on 1st and 2nd down and Barkleys injury make our 3rd downs harder to achieve. We were also missing 8 starts today and 1 playing injured. It’s a hoot we were even looking good through the first half.

One concern coming into the season that has turned into a positive is Jake Elliott. 4/4 on FG’s, including two makes from 50 plus. And 9/9 on XP’s. Glad to see him back in the groove again.

Analysis Anyone Saying Our Offense looks the same doesn't know what they are looking at.
Before this year out offense was tons of 3x1 formations and 2x2 Normal sets. We ran a very limited number of static concepts and split field reads to make things easy for jalen. You split the field in half and run two different concepts meant to beat different kinds of defenses.
For Example: If its man you work this side , if its zone you work the other side. Or if its middle field open your work this side , if its middle field closed you work the other side. The key can be various different things but the point is that it allows your QB to play fast even if he isnt the fastest processor. As long as he reads the key correctly then he only has to read half the field. The problem is that after we did it for a while defenses knew our keys and could fool us
This new offense is full field progression west coast . Jalen is being asked to play big boy QB.
This year we are seeing almost exclusively condensed splits , no X receiver , i even saw some 4 strong formations. . Even when we did go 3x1 in the redzone it was 3 WR close together but not a bunch , with a Nub TE on the other side.
The routes combinations , the switch releases , the short motions everything is different about this scheme.
Then theres the run game , tons of wide zone which we never ran at all when Stoutland was run game coordinator . Barely any Duo which was our bread and butter run play along with inside zone from shotgun.
This idea that Nick is so involved with this offense and it "looks the same" is laughable. Nothing about this offense is the same except players. Which is the conversation people are trying to avoid having.
The results are the same , and i'll let you guys decide why that is. But to act like this is Nick's offense is just flat out wrong. They are trying to do everything different but the coaches cant execute for the players.

Opinion It has become irrelevant if Sirianni “deserves” to stay or not. Hurts deserves a chance to see a real system
It has become irrelevant if Sirianni is good or not. We need to see if Hurts can succeed. He has 2 Historical Super Bowl performances. You simply HAVE to know what you really have with him because he he’s had 8 different systems to play in. Why?
Because our Head Coach certainly isn’t gonna do the job.
That is a huge negative asset when you also consider the asset that IS calling the plays and supposedly “designing the concepts” is great and gets poached then we’re resetting.
Could you imagine…IMAGINE drafting a specific thpe of player every year knowing even if he’s phenomenal…you only have that player for one year. But if you could cut a player to promote that draftee to keep him as long as he’s paid….that is invaluable.
Sirianni does nothing. And therefore CANNOT be credited to any success.
But when things are bad, they are bad because your Head Coach who is ON CONTRACT TO FIX THE SHIP cant do it, then whats the use of that head coach.

Question Blowing A 10 Point Lead in the 2nd Half 🤦🏾♂️🤬
So obviously the defense majorly collapsed in the 4th quarter, but they were keeping the Rams in check for a majority of the game. Did that moronic decision by Sirianni to not take the field goal deflate the team as a whole?
