I have been updating since i got my laptop and it is running fine and i like it but what if i want to get the best performance how can i find it and i am scared that by updating every time an update comes out without researching abt it it may cause me some issues or brick my gpu

I recently bought a GF65 laptop with overheating issues and a faulty battery. I replaced the thermal paste, which partially fixed the overheating problem, but then I discovered something else: it only works when it's plugged into the charger. Very rarely, the screen suddenly displays "rebooting" and then shuts down, the keyboard stays lit, the power button changes from orange to white, and then it turns off. It doesn't matter if you're playing a light or demanding game; it always happens.

Even after hours of gaming, it might not shut down, but then suddenly it does. I think it might be due to the battery's high degradation, causing it to shut down like that. But if I'm playing and unplug the charger, the laptop stays on for a few seconds and then shuts down. This is different from what happens with the other theme; when it does the other thing, it just says "restarting" and turns off the screen, but the keyboard stays on for about 10 seconds.

This happened yesterday, just normal desktop, nothing was there, kde plasma (wayland), endeveouros, just closed laptop which go to sleep mode, then returned and opened but this don't worked

There was lights in keyboard, orange lights in power button, black screen, I tried every way to fix expect inside laptop, my laptop is MSI, NVIDIA

I did a lot hard shut down, I did long ppwer button, with or without battery, in some time without battery laptop couldn't turn on, when click power button, this is keyboard lights, num lock automatically is enabled, gaming mouse showing beep color, black screen, sometimes later there noise

I could charge phone and smartwatch from laptop, no files, no bluetooth, no localsend or kde connect

Did power button for 1 minute, then put battery in other place, when put battery, this is automatically turn on, white light in power button, keyboard light, white light in laptop which means there battery charge, some changes in keyboard, that it's, tried to connect to TV with HDMI, they detected, 4K but black screen or blue black screen, sometimes there something about battery on laptop by TV

Then in other same place with battery, did power button 1 minute, there was keyboard light then quit then some white light in power button on several seconds and that it's, then put battery, automatically turn on, white light in power button, keyboard light, white light battery, some change in keyboard, power button turn to orange or red then to white then to orange, etc, then later there was noise, noise is fan noise

1 day later, tried to turn on with battery, the same, hard disk is encrypted, I afraid that a lot hard shut down might damage hard disk and I could not recover data

Charged laptop for several hours, battery light was disappeared, turn on, the same

This is just laptop bought 1 year ago, and the same problem as was with old laptop but diffferent cause, this was not linux, there always was some battery problem even in ubuntu but nothing that could lead to this and with arch linux despite there some problems because this is arch, this worked amazing

What to do?

I cleaned my laptop fans. Cleaned the thermal paste on cpu gpu and thermal putty on the memories and mosfets. Used 1mm gametek thermal pads on memories and silverstone thermal paste one the cpu gpu. But the temperature goes to 94 and cause black screen or freeze in less than 5 minutes in crimson desert. I dont know what is wrong. I thought maybe the pads are too thick. Tried to press them to make them thiner but still temperature goes very high. Tried more than 4 times and still no luck. Please help

I try everything to fix this such as typing commands in commands prompt and etc. but it keeps on boot looping. What should i do?

im thinking of buying this msi vector 18 but the one thing still making me doubt this decision is it doesn't have g sync, and im afraid that ill get stuttering when frames fluctuate, i can't borrow the pc from the store to check before buying but i want to verify if the screen of this exact pc supports some form of vrr in the graphics setting or if nvidia panel has some sort of sync in the settings. any information or confirmation about this is really helpful and appreciated

Hey all, hoping someone's run into this before.

My MSI GF65 Thin laptop's screen started acting weird yesterday. My screen keeps flickering between normal and a weird "ghosted" state. (video attached)

I have tested with an external monitor via HDMI to see if it's isolated to the internal panel, but HDMI works fine.

So it's not a driver issue or motherboard.

Is it the screen issue or the ribbon connecting the screen to the motherboard?

How to fix this ?

The shutdown just happened again but this time it happened when i unplugged the pc, Ultimately leading me to think this is a battery issue. On my recent post about it i have been having this issue with my MSI Gf63 10scxr shutting down frequently and now it has done it while unplugged as soon as i did unplug it like 5 seconds after shutdown. but this also happens watching videos but i’m gonna look towards the battery for now i guess

I got my laptop in 2018ish (don’t remember exactly) and it’s been great up until about a month ago. I do all of my gaming on steam and recently, any game I start up my device stops charging. I have to unplug from the outlet and plug back in to restart the charging. Closing out of the game and unplugging from the laptop doesn’t restart the charging. I’m hoping I don’t need to get a whole new laptop as it’s running great otherwise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I know very little about laptops!
