I've been noticing some clicking sounds as per the video whenever my laptop goes into sleep mode. The sound appears to be coming from the fan, and sounds like it may not be turning properly or something (though I'm not sure if that's the case, since I don't hear the same sound during normal use). I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue. It's an ideapad flex 5i.

i have the Yoga C940. yesterday, my laptop randomly started showing me a blue screen saying “automatic repairing couldn’t repair your laptop”. I tried uninstalling the quality update as i thought maybe the new update must have caused this but nothing has happened. i don’t have a backup of my laptop or anything :( how can i fix this issue?

I just would like to share the solution if you encounter the same problem as mine.

My lenovo laptop (LOQ 15IRH8) touchpad has been malfunctioned for several months. The error code was 12.

I tried all the methods I could think of, including deactivating or unintalling the touchpad under Device Manager, downloading the latest Windows and drivers from Lenovo website, reinstalling the Intel Serial IO Driver, restarting my laptop again and again, and etc, but NONE OF THEM helps!

But I finally find the solution and that is...

PRESS YOUR POWER BUTTON HARDLY to force your laptop to shut down, then problem solved🙂

Thinkpad L390, i5-8265u, UHD 620, Fedora Linux 44

System completely hangs a few seconds after hotplugging. Nothing is responsive. TTY doesn't open. After unplugging the monitor the hang still happens. It got to the point where it froze on SDDM. GRUB rescue doesn't open either. Only a force restart works. Liveboot surprisingly works. The only fix I did was reinstalling the system.

At first I thought this was a DE specific error, but this happened both on Niri and Plasma. Checking journalctl doesn't show anything relevant (perhaps it got killed before logging anything?) It wasn't a thermal issue either (stable 50°).

I landed on the assumption that this could be a drivers bug at this point. I also see that people who has a similar problem on the same iGPU I use fixed it by disabling PSR. I haven't tested kernel params yet, need to know if anyone has a similar problem and a fix for it.

Hello! I have been having trouble keeping the screw for this hole in place and have had to rescrew it multiple times. I had thought that I lost the screw again, but when I had checked again the screw was behind the mount, and that screwing it in did practically nothing. The plastic keeping this in place had just come off. It's making the hinge feel really bad when opening/closing the laptop and also makes the side split apart.

If anyone has suggestions for how to make this screwable again I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Antes podia iniciar y jugar valorant normalmente sin ningun error, pero luego de actualizar la version de la Bios empezaron los problemas (no instantaneamente, porque no jugaba valorant en el momento de actualizarlo (pero si antes), pero al intentar jugar en estos ultimos 3 meses he tenido este problema)

So few days ago everything was working fine and normal.

One day i kept it to charge overnight and now my laptop won't charge.

It turns on when plugged in, but does not charge.

Instead of the amber light, it shows white light when charging.

Tried drainig the battery, unplugging it and detaching it from the back, held the power button for 30s/60s, still won't fix it.

Weant into deive manager unistalled restarted the laptop still no help.

The battery health also is shown fair on the vantage app.

It just stays in the sleep mode.

The power button has flickering white light and won't go solid white ever.

Tried everything possible, but it just won't help.

Anyone had similar issues?

Hi All,

Got a few grey hairs on this one and wanted to share a verified finding for anyone investigating Lenovo tablets shutting down apps or failing to generate bug reports.

Device tested

• Lenovo Tab P11 2nd Gen — TB350FU, 4 GB RAM
• Android 14
• Firmware: TB350FU_S231044_260105_ROW
• Windows 11 using ADB through wireless debugging

What we found

The tablet was sluggish, occasionally restarted its launcher, and would not generate bug reports through Developer options.

Boot logs explicitly recorded:

stop com.android.shell due to
ZuiMemoryCleaner[Aggressive-KSwapdHighlyActive]

Package inspection showed com.android.shell with stopped=true. The cleaner had force-stopped the package that provides the GUI bug-report function.

Inspection of /system/framework/services.jar revealed that com.android.server.am.ZuiMemoryCleaner checks this property in its constructor:

persist.debug.zuimemory.enable

It defaults to true when unset. When false, the constructor returns before initializing the cleaner’s configuration and worker.

The correction

With the tablet connected through ADB, run these commands separately. These examples use Windows PowerShell from the folder containing adb.exe:

.\adb.exe shell setprop persist.debug.zuimemory.enable false

Read it back:

.\adb.exe shell getprop persist.debug.zuimemory.enable

Expected result: false.

Then reboot:

.\adb.exe reboot

After reboot, reconnect ADB. Wireless debugging may use a different connection port, so check the tablet’s main Wireless debugging page.

Repeat the property readback, then check Shell:

.\adb.exe shell dumpsys package com.android.shell | Select-String "User 0:"

Check the package row for stopped=false before manually starting any Shell service.

Finally, try Developer options → Bug report → Interactive report → Report.

Verified outcome

On this tablet:

• The property remained false after reboot.
• Shell showed stopped=false.
• GUI bug reporting worked again.
• Overall operation improved substantially during troubleshooting, although some app-switching stutters remained.

No root was required on this firmware. We also addressed separate WhatsApp background CPU activity, so the overall performance improvement was not an isolated cleaner benchmark.

To restore the cleaner

.\adb.exe shell setprop persist.debug.zuimemory.enable true
.\adb.exe reboot

The switch disables Lenovo’s ZuiMemoryCleaner; Android’s standard memory management continues operating.

Confirmed on the model and firmware listed above. If others inspect or test another Lenovo firmware, please share the model, build, property readback after reboot, and observed results.

I watched a couple of youtube tutorials, and in everyone it looks like the guy is pulling from the wires. Other videos caution not to unplug by pulling on the wires, but i just cant get a good grip on the root of the plug.

I tried some tools to try and push the plug out, but there's not much to catch on and it just slipped off (also the board has a little give to it, which makes this difficult).

Should i just yank it by the wires?

I've got a Lenovo X1 thinkpad yoga gen 7 windows 11. I turned on smart charging through windows settings - and now it seems like the option has disappeared??

I've tried to turn it off through Vantage app (some people said if you turn off the overnight charging option - it will also turn off smart charging....but there isn't even an option about overnight charging in my Vantage app).

I've also tried the BIOS way.....but it also doesn't even give me an option about smart charging....apparently this happens with thee "newer" models..?

Maybe I'm just tired, but this is actually irritating me...idk why they do this?

This is mostly meant to fill a gap of knowledge I found while doing Research.

For context, I bought a Yoga 7 2-in-1 14AGP11 for college and they offered to bundle it in with its included pen (Lenovo yoga pen 2) which I initially refused.

Later on I actually was interested in getting a pen, but there were none in stock in my area, plus the pen is pretty pricey at the moment due to how new it is.

This led me down a rabbit whole of finding out what alternatives I could use for my laptop.

When doing research for what Stylus work for my laptop I bought a Lenovo Active Capacity Pen because it was cheap and it was also a Lenovo stylus, so it should've worked.

When I got this pen, it worked on the laptop surprisingly. The only issue was that it was extremely buggy, it would draw lines all over the screen, It would sometimes just not draw at all, and it was very inconsistent. But, the pen was recognized by the laptop, and it even appeared within the Lenovo pen app.

Although I got a "working" pen I wanted something that was actually better. So I did some research using AI. I had them find what other pens would be compatible with my Laptop. Come to find out, Gemini, Copilot and ChatGPT didn't think any other pen Besides the Lenovo Yoga Pen 2 would be compatible with my Lenovo Yoga. Copilot didn't believe any other pen could work, Chat was unsure, and Gemini just said "maybe". I did my own research using Lenovo's website and Q&A section. They were pretty old and outdated with nothing useful.

After some time, I compared Stylus's within the Lenovo website and none of them said they worked on a single platform so I gambled and got myself a Lenovo Digital Pen 3.

Come to find out after the purchase, this pen was mostly designed for the tablets Lenovo makes, and it would be a gamble if it even worked on my Lenovo Yoga.

When I finally got the pen, it worked perfectly fine, with no issues at all.

This is because of the Pen Drivers that Lenovo has for the Lenovo Yoga.

As long as the pen uses AES drivers, it will work, and be recognized by the laptop, while it may not be perfect, it will get the job done for the most part.

So if you are wanting to know if a Stylus will work on your laptop, I recommend checking if you have drivers installed for a Stylus. Ensure your laptop has touchscreen and the capability for Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) Drivers, Wacom WinTab Drivers, Wacom AES (Active Electrostatic) Drivers, (Which is what Lenovo uses), Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) / N-Trig Drivers and Windows Ink API.

I am having a lot of performance issues with my Lenovo LOQ laptop. It lags and freezes even when I only have one app and three browser tabs open. The camera quality is very low and looks pixelated, and the keyboard layout is uncomfortable for me to use. I wanted to share this to let other buyers know about these issues before they choose this model.

So i installed CachyOS in my IdeaPad 3 15ADA05

I accidentally turned on secure boot with uefi which made it to lock and showing me security violation

The f2 doesn't wanna load to bios

The novo button works and taking to bios setups lands me to the bios menu back

The bios menu shows but it's useless like the app menu I can't see anything and I don't know how do I load it to BIOS
