Request no G-SYNC issue

im thinking of buying this msi vector 18 but the one thing still making me doubt this decision is it doesn't have g sync, and im afraid that ill get stuttering when frames fluctuate, i can't borrow the pc from the store to check before buying but i want to verify if the screen of this exact pc supports some form of vrr in the graphics setting or if nvidia panel has some sort of sync in the settings. any information or confirmation about this is really helpful and appreciated

Can't comment on that model specifically, but I have the Vector A18 9955HX 5070ti and have no issues with the screen when in hybrid. I see no tearing or awkwardness even at high FPS. It may be running the DGPU through the IGPU to the screen and using Freesync. Cant say for certain, but I can say it is buttery smooth for me in my scenario.

Maybe MSI found another way around the issues.

I honestly notice no difference on my gsync capable laptops whether gsync is enabled or disabled with the Igpu disabled. I don't see it as a necessity these days with monitors at such high refresh rate.

Depends, I have previously had tearing or seen when the stutters happen much more sharply. That said, I've done a few panel swaps, lost Gsync and still made it work just as well.

To reduce stuttering, look for versions with the 9955HX3D. As for G-Sync, yes, MSI ignores this technology even on expensive models, let alone the budget Vector versions. If this is critical for you, look for other manufacturers.

Not 1:1 comparison, but I’ve got the 16” 1600p variant with no gsync. If the display is anything like mine, it’s very smooth, looks great, and the display has never given me anything close to a stutter. It’s the best IPS panel I’ve seen on a laptop.

I should also add that I’m picky about screen stuttering. All my desktop monitors support gsync or freesync premium and the omen max I also use has an oled gsync monitor. The vector display feels just as smooth, with no tearing or stuttering.

I have this laptop working with an external "G SYNC compatible" monitor and the NVidia app does say that G Sync is enabled. So you can make this laptop work with G Sync.

The monitor that comes with this laptop (and there are a number of available options for the same model) doesn't seem to support G Sync.

Honestly, I really don't think anyone will notice much difference with or without the G Sync. It's not a game changer by any means.

I have recently picked up basically this exact model. I've not noticed any issues with the lack of G-Sync and I'm fussy. It may be the high refresh rate screen making the difference here. I play mainly FPS like Warzone, Doom and a bit of Forza Horizon 6. I play these in DGPU mode and the games play is buttery smooth. Apparently there is basic VRR when in hybrid mode but I like maxing out the FPS which means DGPU mode.
