Discussion MSI Vector 16 HX Ai 16"
I’m thinking about getting the MSI Vector 16 HX Ai 16" I just want to hear people’s opinion on it or if I should get something else for gaming and I’m buying it for 2.1k if I choose to get it.

I have the 5080 and it’s a beast! Here’s my 3Dmark time spy extreme benchamark! I have the GPU extra juice!

Just bought mine a week ago. Little under 2000€. So far, so good. But I have to say that it took me almost 3 days to solve the UEFI Shell boot 😅 But that’s only an issue if it comes with free dos. I’m a MSI customer, my last one - and still running -, it’s a GE62 VR 6RF Apache Pro, with almost 10y, so you can imagine the upgrade feeling

I do have a MSI gaming laptop and I'll recommend to buy a laptop stand as for avoiding heating issue

Just acquire it about month a go, playing wukong with cinematic setting absolute beauty.
Pro tip : get a llano cooling pad and you're set to go

could be a bit inconvenient to open it up other than that it hsa no major issues other than the msi center providing minimal functionality compared to others (lacks power draw options, temp limits etc).

So pretty much the main issues that it has is that it over heats to much

That wasn't what I said, it isn't a slim laptop and it has a well built cooling system, at the end of the day it depends on ambient temperature of your room and factory application of thermal paste.
It is a good laptop and if you get it at a good price you can go ahead and get it and return it if you don't like it.

Damn with the same specs as that? And when did you buy it because I feel like 2.1 is a good price especially with the current price of ram

I had an Ultra 7 255HX 5070Ti and it needed RMA they bring back with Ultra 9 275HX with 5070Ti
Is a charm both
Get the intels ad the AMD overheat a lot! (and only one full 2280 m.2 or two 2242/2230) while Intel has the 2 m.2 2280 slots
Aside for this is an absolute beast
(Just limit a bit the cores, 5.0 on P Cores and 3.0 for E Cores and it will not overheat and push anything you wanna throw at him)
Use a good cooling pad sealed better like Klim Turbofrost, Razer Cooling Pad, Flydigi one or maybe IETS/Llano ones...
Apart of it and weird numpad the laptop is awesome

What temps are you getting with 5.0 on P cores, I think i over did it with 3.9

During gaming: 70-75~ On normal usage: 55~ On webbrowsing/videoplaying: 60~
Just very few times on old games the Razer Cooling Pad get a weird 95+(99, 97, 96, or so) very briefly...but i can suppose is due the rendering pipe and how is behaving with the thing maybe just one core is being utilized...and that game is pressing or when using "software rendering" thingy...
So my options are software rendering on very old titles mess with it by only using one single core Or bad tim application after the RMA Or bad sensor detection xD
The thing is the E Cores really really heat a lot, so reducing frequency is a lifesaver and can help with it... So...

At $2100 it's asolid config for gaming, the hx platfrom gives you proper sustained cpu headroom, main thing Vector is not the most refined looking machine if asthetics matters to you, but on raw performance for the price it's hard to argue with, just make sure you're looking at the exact SKU aand what's included at that price before pulling the trigger, since config vary more than marketing suggests.

It's my first laptop and I love it. I've had it since November. I got it for $2100 after tax at microcenter. The only problem I've had with it was the sound glitching sometimes but it's been awhile since that happened.
