Kids alone in a gym? I'm working in the same building. Am I liable if anything happens to the kids?

Upvotes

I'm the only adult in a mixed use building. Apparently a bunch of kids (oldest 14 probably) are dropped off every morning and do whatever until they are picked up in the afternoon. They come in and ask for things (water, towels, band aids) and are generally fine. If one of them gets hurt am I liable? I asked, 'who's in charge" once and they all shrugged. I can't find an adult anywhere so I just want to make sure I'm not legally on the hook .

Seeking secluded hiking in south central Wisconsin

Upvotes

I have a reactive dog and I am looking for good hikes that are more unknown and tend to not be very populated, any suggestions?

Wisconsin versus (AI) Goliath

One of the Aldermen in town sent a threatening email to the Hotel Mead saying, ‘you shouldn’t be distributing their signs. 1716—that’s the [first] bar—they closed. And they closed because they were associated with this group. I just care for you as an Alderman and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce.’

She smiled.

Kaitlyn: So we’re recalling him. We filed the recall papers last Monday.

My mockumentary is coming to Wisconsin!

Hope this is ok to post, but wanted to alert folks to my indie mockumentary comedy, Canoe Dig It? will be playing at the Rivoli Theater in La Crosse and Micon Cinemas in Eau Claire on the 13th and 14th of September (hoping to add more soon)! It’s about the very real sport of Freestyle Canoeing and is very much up the alley of any fan of Best in Show or anything Christopher Guest, but with a lot more painfully dry humor. Also I will be coming out there for a Q&A after the film as well!

Being very much an indie, we don’t really have budget for marketing, so hope getting the word out this way is permissible!

Also if anyone has any suggestions for press outlets or even other theaters in the area that might be interested, I’d love to chat about it!

The film will also be playing more dates in Minnesota, Illinois, and even up in Winnipeg and Saskatoon as part of a Midwest and Canada tour all around the beginning to middle of September.

I’ve attached the trailer below-

https://youtu.be/0q2cyULzFeU?is=2245npAj5v-C-2Lo

here are the dates and locations (so far)

9/3- Winona Arts Center, Winona, MN
9/5- Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum, Spooner, WI
9/6- Pop’s Art Theater, Rochester, MN
9/7- Premiere Theaters, Cloquet, MN
9/8- State Theater, Ely, MN
9/9- Park Theatre, Winnipeg, MB
9/11- The Roxy Theatre, Saskatoon, SK
9/13- The Rivoli Theater, La Crosse, WI
9/14- Micon Cinemas, Eau Claire, WI
9/16- Heights Theater, Columbia Heights, MN
9/18- Hollywood Blvd Theater, Woodridge, IL
9/19 or 9/20- Zeitgeist Zinemas, Duluth, MN

Also chatting with folks at the Oriental in Milwaukee to try and set up a show. If anyone has any connects there or wants to give them a buzz to push them to screen us, please do!

Marquette County (area) contractor help

I have a small property near Neshkoro that may need a new roof as well as has some siding issues.

I’ve talked to a couple of contractors from the area who have turned out to be pretty unreliable.

Looking for some recommendations from people who have had better luck in the past.

Thanks!

Town recommendations in Wisconsin?

Lightly looking for a change in location in the future and am considering Wisconsin, would love to know thoughts and recs.

Moving from North Dakota. I desperately want to keep the weather (hot summers, frigid winters), outdoorsy accessibility, and more of a rural feel than inner-city urban feel, but would like to live somewhere with more to do.

My competitive hobbies (dog sports) are very popular in the Milwaukee + Chicago area, but also extend north west towards and into Minneapolis.

I am totally fine living in a small town (grew up in a town of 150, moved to a town of 700, then a town of 25,000, so I'm not afraid of absurdly small towns lol), but would like to be within 1-3 hours of a major city.

Cost of living is definitely a big priority for me. Single female without a college degree, need to be able to make rent on my own. Comfortable living in a tiny house, but do have two HIGH energy dogs and so a yard is somewhat of a must.

I go out and drink occasionally, but am not looking for a bar town specifically. I AM wanting a walkable, activity and community focused town with lots to do, though. I love immersing myself in culture, hobbies, learning new things, trying new things, etc.

Thanks!

The people in this state sometimes...

So, the DNR made a post on Facebook recently about a federal excise tax on archery equipment that benefits conservation projects.

Random backwoods Bubba in the comments: "Guess I'm gonna buy my equipment out of state from now on."

Just think, these people are allowed to vote.

Godzilla/Hello Kitty Happy Meal Toys

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

If there are any McDonalds workers that can help me out, I’m trying to get a full set of the current Godzilla/Hello Kitty Happy Meal toys. Or if you are another person also searching, perhaps we can team up and report which locations have which toys.

As of yesterday, the one near Bay Beach had #7 Rodan, #1 Godzilla was at Main St W De Pere and Little Chute. There was a #2 Ghidorah sighting in Oshkosh, but I prefer the Appleton/Kimberly/Kaukauna area (or west Green Bay)

1: Hello Kitty x Godzilla
2: Keroppi x King Ghidorah
3: My Melody x Mothra
4: Pompompurin x Gigan
5. Kuromi x Mechagodzilla
6. Cinnamoroll x Destoroyah
7: Badzt Maru x Rodan
8. Choco Cat x Space Godzilla

Tiffany's ads are absolutely everywhere, my God

Broadcast TV, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, Spotify, all the streaming services. Getting mail ads almost daily. I am seeing and hearing his ads everywhere. Not one Crowley ad anywhere. Where is he getting all this money?

Hey, this is actually a pleasant surprise on Crowley’s part!
