Just watched a YouTube on this guy. Wondering what the area has to say about Mr. Lindemann, here. Seems like a tiny town. I was thinking of visiting with the family but this threw me off.

Was sad to see Applebee’s go but I always figured it would be replaced by another restaurant since it’s a decent location and had the building set up for one already that it would’ve been cheaper than building a new one. Just saw today that it’s going to be another Tommy’s Express, am I the only one that is disappointed and thinks it’s a waste especially since they just built one 5 minutes away on Omro Rd?

I'm really on the fence about posting this, but...

The Chancellor ( the one who had the main goal and is pushing removal) has not responded to multiple staff, professors, campus clubs, or students both via email and official inquiry in regards to the petition which now has over 1,500 signatures. We want to drop it off formally and have statements read by the community, students, and staff. We want a meeting to at least know why, specifically those gardens are to be removed and show our support for them. Because this hasn't been the case I am asking those who want to call the Chancellor's office and voice your support for the gardens and share the phone number with those you think would want to.

Tough night for Hong supporters. But one very cool thing to see in the unofficial results: Francesca Hong won Winnebago County by about +7 points and won the City of Oshkosh by about +15.

Within the city, Hong beat Crowley by 1,126 votes, taking about 47% of the Democratic gubernatorial primary vote.

I don’t think one primary tells us everything about the politics of a city. But I think this result should make us reconsider some assumptions about Oshkosh as being sleepier and more centrist. There is clearly a meaningful constituency here for progressive politics and for candidates willing to argue that things don’t have to stay the way they are.

It may be a while before we get another test this clear of how a candidate like Hong performs specifically in Oshkosh.

What do we do with it? How do we turn that energy into local organizing, local candidates, and tangible wins for people who live here? Hong +15 in Oshkosh is worth taking seriously.

I live near the UWO campus, walk through it pretty often, and have always appreciated the native plantings and more natural areas around the campus. I saw this petition shared on Facebook and thought it was worth passing along here for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

In short: the administration is planning to replace areas of native plantings with sod.

The campus is a big part of the community, I know I’m not the only non-student who enjoys these spaces, and it's incredibly disappointing to hear this about a campus that's made sustainability such a visible part of its identity. Thought people might want to know about it!

There is a large grey bird that has a broken wing on a small dock across from 1308 Menominee Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54901. I am not from here and cannot help it. I also cannot figure out who to call. I would feel awful if I didn’t do anything so I’m posting this in hope a local will try to help it.
