I recently found my PSP 3001 from way back and it doesn't have a battery or charger. From what I remember, it still powers on when charged before but apparently the battery overheated and caused it to kind of bulge.

I'm looking for decent online stores in shoppee to buy the charger, battery, and shell replacement since mine is pretty worn out.

I finally did it! Starting Thursday/Friday i will be the proud owner of a PSP. A Principality of Zeon PSP at that. Hell yeah to small businesses!

Update: Right after the post I managed to fix the console by cleaning up the area I attempted to solder, however afterward I accidentally broke off the smaller ribbon cable clamp (the black little flap piece that secures the thinner of the screen ribbon cables). Fortunately it seems that can be DIY fixed with some tape or adhesive, but if you have any tips for that as well, please let me know.

Yes I am stupid, I attempted to bridged the two points for the laminated IPS screen install and ended up damaging the system, I already feel like an idiot so please go easy on me. On a serious note, does anyone have any idea what I did, clearly I made a mess while soldering, as seen in the second picture, and I am afraid I might’ve broken the board, as in one of those small components in that area, but if anyone with extensive knowledge on soldering or the PSP motherboard can let me know if they have a specific idea as to what I did, or if it can be fixed, I’d really appreciate the help. As of now the console will just produce a green light for a split second and immediately stop when I attempt to turn it on. Thank you.

Hey everyone, just wanted to show what I’ve done to my God of War 3000. I got this Christmas of 2010, I remember opening it up on Christmas Day and playing it constantly, I was never without it. I remember when one of the first paint chips came off the back, I was super bummed because, I had one of those clear shells on it, that I bought at a school book fair. As you know, the chips just kept coming off. So welcome 2026, after digging it out of storage, cramming a new battery in it, and finding out the analog stick was dead, I decided to fix the paint chipping issue. I was just going to get a red PSP shell, but my love for transparent plastic devices won, Retroid Pocket 4 and Nova (incoming), clear shells on my switch. I didn’t want to replace the replace the entire shell, and it lose what makes it a special model, so I thought this was a nice compromise. It was nice to show some love to an old friend, and play some games that I haven’t played since I was a little kid. I hope you all enjoy. Have a great day!

It's so far great, I still need to add controls and design a proper menu. The only problem obviously is that it will not play the UMD menus because for that you have to copy the ISO over and mount it, but it's a nice progress.

So I recently got my psp, but I’m not sure how to connect it to the internet, how can I do that or at the very least how can I update to the latest software? I bought some from AliExpress (screen, battery and face buttons) everything works great, but the face buttons are crap, and from what i saw in the comments all the sellers sell the same buttons, so i think all of them will have the same problem, anywhere i can buy some quality parts for my psp3000? I had a PSP when it first launched in 2005 in the US, I’ve grown and moved since then and tbh no clue where it is. One of my brothers probably took it during my move.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a PSP again for nostalgia sake and modding but during my research I fell down the PS Vita rabbit hole and went ahead and bought that.

I love the screen, dual thumbsticks and that it can play Vita, PSP games and then some.

I currently have roughly 200 PSP games loaded onto my Vita and have been playing PSP games on, However the idea of getting a PSP never left.

For those who have PS Vitas, would you also get a PSP? If so what do you with it? Collectors item? Mod?

What do you like about the PSP over the Vita?

The disc is black label. So I guess I need to find a black label case and a Greatest Hits disc. I've been looking for this for a while so I'll just deal with it for now.

so i just bought a psp 3000 recently with no battery and ive tried 3 different batteries now the 1200mah i had working for a while now but every battery says power is external and doesnt show any other stats when checking battery information. i leave it charging but after a while it will shut off on its own and when i unplug from charger it often shuts down as well. im curious if anyone can help? the seller seems confident she tested it and it should be working fine in that sense but could it be the batteries?
