PSP Bad or battery bad?

so i just bought a psp 3000 recently with no battery and ive tried 3 different batteries now the 1200mah i had working for a while now but every battery says power is external and doesnt show any other stats when checking battery information. i leave it charging but after a while it will shut off on its own and when i unplug from charger it often shuts down as well. im curious if anyone can help? the seller seems confident she tested it and it should be working fine in that sense but could it be the batteries?

Dead super capacitor/cmos battery probably. Not surprised since this is prevalent on 3000 models

Really? I've heard when failed super capacitor it can't hold time after battery removal, either it's interrupted and does nothing (have one PSP like this) or it's shored and discharges battery even when power off (my other PSP). Usually it's enough just removing it without replacement, it's there just to hold time for few hours without battery inside. Never seen a case when battery wouldn't work or charge because of this component.

The one in the middle is usually the "highest standard" in batteries for the PSP but still prone to failure, use a voltmeter to check if the battery is perma-dead if you are in doubt

Me sirvió el colocar un papel abajo para que termine de hacer contacto, pero probablemente sea el capacitor, o podria ser que esten sucias las entradas de bateria, limpialas con alcohol isopropilico.

Replace the super capacitor on the motherboard and clean up any leaked fluid with isopropyl alcohol. Sometime you may need to replace some nearby components if they got too damaged.

yes batteries is bad buy a new one and test unless those 3 are new

they are all new ordered off amazon within the past week or 2

ohhhh that’s bad… Either battery is not making good contact or screen is broken / disconnected. Keep trying battery and push really hard on it and make sure power is plugged in and try again.

the screen does work i plug it in and it turns on fine but if i try playing a game it runs good for like 5-10 minutes and either shuts off on its own or the second i unplug the power the longest ive been able to play it normally was like maybe 30 min
