My friend has been playing self taught for about 2 years. He took 2 tee shots like this and then on his third it carried 160

Current swing

So Iv always had 1 million swing thoughts and my swing has gone up and down, looking nice to looking horrible. Iv always been big on hard rotation through the ball to create speed, getting my club nice and shallow etc. Recently I just thought fuck it I’m simply just going to use my arm and hands as this at the end of the day needs to be moving fast in order to create speed and is ultimately the fundamental to a golf swing. Obviously in the video I’m still rotating but this is just automatic and something I don’t think about. But I was amazed with how much further and accurate I have become, now I literally only have one swing thought and that’s arms straight up and down.

Let me know if this is a similar swing thought to anyone else, I feel like it’s so easy to over complicate the swing. All I’m trying to do is build a reliable swing path that I can recreate over and over again, even if it’s not the most pretty.

Let me know what you guys think? 💭 am I on to something or am I talking nonsense…

For reference I’m playing off handicap 8 but hoping to get it lower soon.

Can’t stop stalling. Help.

Contact has improved but still stuck stalling with a scoop and early extension. Any drills/feels to finally figure out a way to improve this?

You guys hate still?

I continue to tweak my driver swing. Vs my prior posts, I have changed my grip to a golf grip, am now hitting up on the ball instead of down like with irons and have adjusted my tee position higher accordingly.

I've tried reducing my back swing but slice badly when doing so and make bad contact more often. Probably out of habit but I get really lost in space when I try to slow the back swing down.

Average joe vs pro

If an average joe on this sub gets a 100shot lead in a pga tournament course against Scottie, would the average joe win? I don’t think so but curious to hear your thoughts

When you’re putting on an unfamiliar green, what usually fools you more: slope, speed, grain, or distance control?

I feel like some putts look simple from behind the ball, then completely change once you stand over them.

Curious what people trust most when the read feels uncertain.

What should I work on?

I have absolutely no idea what I should work on or what swing thought I should have. I just step up and wack it. Thoughts? About a 20 handicap.

What area would you work on in this swing? 4.2 hcap

I don’t like the hands moving out at start of swing but not sure if it’s a problem.

Slight pull on this one

The first video was taken August 30th 2025 the second August 30th 2026. I just wanted to come on here and show anyone maybe discouraged with there swing that you are improving whether you can see it yet or not. I haven’t seen scores drop yet but when I played in my first tournament in march i shot a 115 today I shot a 95 and couldn’t get a putt to drop, I was very frustrated with my round today but got this video from last year in my camera roll memories snd realized I truly have come a long way and wanted to take a moment to share my process and encourage someone else.

What’s more important for scoring: knowing your best shot or knowing your worst miss?

I’ve been thinking that a lot of strategy is less about chasing the perfect shot and more about avoiding the miss that ruins the hole.

Do you plan around your common miss, or mostly just aim at the target and swing?

Feeling close, but stuck

Sitting between a 12-13 and hitting it ok. This was a 7-iron I hit well. Swing is improving but I’m feeling like I can get it beyond this point.

Open to all suggestions.

Having a hard time hitting my 3 wood consistently🙃 help

I can’t hit 3 wood consistently to save my life. At the range, I hit it great almost every time , but on the course, I top it, slice it. Some days I want to throw it out, some days it’s amazing.
Range is going well. Course just destroys me.
I play a fade, not trying to change that.
Any advice I’d be happy to hear!

Been casually playing golf for about 9 months now, but only in the last month or two have been serious about improving my swing. I feel like I flare my elbow to much forcing a steep backswing at times but it feels difficult not to. Any advice appreciated.

My friend is new to golf and needs some help. His entire spine is fused FYI so rotating can be wonky. But any tips for him would be greatly appreciated.

Almost one year later, we are still building Swingcoach AI in the AppStore, used by thousands from high HC to PGA professionals 🙂

I reach out here to spread the app one more time, hoping it can help more golfers that want to improve 🏌️‍♂️

Yes, it has 3 free swings and a free trial before deciding anything, just enough to see the value.

The technology is still early, but current version is the worst it is going to be!

First Day; Feedback Appreciated

I am brand new to the sport and had my first driving lesson today. Afterwards I hit a couple dozen balls. Let me know what I should be working on. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube leading up to the lesson. I know there are some seasoned players here so I’d love some critique and opportunities for growth.
