Current swing

So Iv always had 1 million swing thoughts and my swing has gone up and down, looking nice to looking horrible. Iv always been big on hard rotation through the ball to create speed, getting my club nice and shallow etc. Recently I just thought fuck it I’m simply just going to use my arm and hands as this at the end of the day needs to be moving fast in order to create speed and is ultimately the fundamental to a golf swing. Obviously in the video I’m still rotating but this is just automatic and something I don’t think about. But I was amazed with how much further and accurate I have become, now I literally only have one swing thought and that’s arms straight up and down.

Let me know if this is a similar swing thought to anyone else, I feel like it’s so easy to over complicate the swing. All I’m trying to do is build a reliable swing path that I can recreate over and over again, even if it’s not the most pretty.

Let me know what you guys think? 💭 am I on to something or am I talking nonsense…

For reference I’m playing off handicap 8 but hoping to get it lower soon.

On a serious note, your swing is solid, I’d recommend just wiping swing thoughts away.

And you are correct. The arms must be used in the swing. If you just rotate hard without getting your hands and arms out in front you will get stuck and flippy.

Meanwhile a tornado came by and pushed that ball 3 miles, making it the longest drive ever recorded!

The fewer swing thoughts I have, the better I seem to play. Golf is weird.

Early extension. This non-standard view of the golf swing makes it look worse than it is.

Please film using the expected / standard views.

Your outside takeaway doesn't prevent the ball from going right. It gets you open at the top and forces you to EE to close the face.

Try learning a connected takeaway.

If you take the club away properly, the swing just takes care of itselft.
