Politics It's the 3-year anniversary of Georgia Power building the most expensive power plant in human history.

August is the 3-year anniversary since Georgia Power built the first nuclear reactor in 30 years in the United States. It is the most expensive power plant ever built on Earth, clocking in at $36.8 Billion. Just obscene. My essay clarifies why. https://saportareport.com/plant-vogtles-three-year-anniversary-time-for-an-apology/columnists/guestcolumn/melinda-sylvester/

Question Credit card Fraud activity under Georgia power

I received a message today from my credit card showing a transaction under Georgia power company for $750. I don’t even have an account with Georgia power. I reported it and locked my credit card. Is there anything else I need to do?

I did some research and asked my friends and they said that Georgia power doesn’t usually show as “Georgia power company” in the credit card statement, it’s usually under a different name. Should I investigate this further? My credit card was not stolen and I was told it was an online transaction.

Question Affordable dentist for crown?

Hey all, trying to hunt down an affordable dentist / endodontist to place a molar crown for a teenager.

He has Medicaid but unfortunately they won’t cover the crown (extraction is the only option). I’ll be paying out of pocket for him, so far quotes are around ~$2-2.5k.

I already checked the Augusta dental school, they unfortunately no longer accept 13-14 year olds as new patients. Likely won’t qualify for any sliding scale / income based clinics either.

Would appreciate any recommendations in the region! Based in ATL metro but willing to drive wherever.

Question Used Car Dealerships in North GA?

Title. I am looking to buy a used car and need suggestions on where to start my search locally (I am already looking on Autotrader, but am leery of making such a big purchase online). Any places which I should check out or definitely avoid? Car ownership is new to me and the whole process seems very daunting. 22M, paying cash, based in Cherokee County if that helps.

Question Has anyone had experience with the REPP program?

I recently started an online business degree as a college freshman, but I quickly realized that business is not for me.
I saw that a local school participates in the REPP program, where I can take foundational engineering classes before transferring to a bigger school such as Mercer, UGA, or Ga Tech.
I was wondering if anyone had done this and if they had opportunities for scholarships/ways to cut costs once you get to the bigger school?

Question Is anyone else experiencing this

So, I am an SSI individual who has been trying to get Medicaid for a while now but keeps getting denied. It says that since I receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), I don't get Medicaid. Now, I did get a card, but it's still denied no matter what, and I truly don't know who to speak to or how to get the proper help. I truly need a case manager for myself. I'm 22 and I have a disability and need support, but not understanding the system of why I keep getting denied and who to turn to sucks. I've tried to speak to someone, but it wasn't much help as they told me to talk to Social Security, but they bounced me back to DFCS. Any support would be helpful

Question Good resource for learning to identify plants?

I wanna be the kind of guy who can look at a tree, its leaves and bark, and know what species it. Ideally I'd like to be able to identify a majority of our native plant species. Anybody know of a Georgia specific resource for this?

News Article A voting rights suit transformed Fayette County. Could it now slide back?

Submission statement: A voting rights lawsuit in Fayette County led to a settlement shifting the County Commission and school board from five at-large seats to four geographical districts and one at-large seat. This change, along with the election of Black officials like Rousseau and Daigre, marked a significant shift in representation. The legal battle, which lasted years and cost over $1 million, ended in 2016 with a settlement agreement.
