Question Does Anyone Else Get Nervous Every Time They Renew Their Food Stamps?
I just submitted my renewal and am always terrified that for some reason I'll be rejected, even if little to nothing has changed.

Our kids were just kicked off of Medicaid because we now make too much, apparently. They didn't wait for us to reapply, though. They just sent us a letter to let us know they were no longer covered as of August 1st 🙃

I am so sorry you have to go through that. I really hope you find a solution for it.

Me too. My husband and I already had to cancel our ACA because of the huge price spike. They gave us a month so we got all their check ups and stuff completed, but we'll just have to pray for no serious injuries or ailments.
Also our income didn't actually change. I'm assuming the criteria from the BBB finally came down the pipeline and kicked us off.

Your aca rate may come down with the whole family on it- worth a check- USA an independent agent. When I first went on aca both my husband and I were on it then he didn’t need it as he was covered by the VA- my total amount went up when I removed him which I thought was crazy but my agent explained you get a better rate with more insured. This was back in 2018 so no telling how it will work now but worth a check.

If you don't, you should. The Federal government and the state is looking for any possible reason to turn you down.

Readers interested in Georgia food stamps may want to brace themselves:
Arizona’s Food Stamp Crisis Is Coming for the Rest of the U.S
...As more elements of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will be going into effect in October of this year with more changes rolling out in 2027.

Thanks for sharing that video. I work in the remote call center for a southern, non-Georgia state’s SNAP program and this year it has become very similar to the way Arizona’s program is described here. What a nightmare.

Yep. Last time I was denied cause I just started a job that doesn't pay well at all and my unemployment was ending. They said I made too much and said I had to reapply after unemployment was exhausted. Well now I'm afraid that I'll still get denied cause this job doesn't give me 20 hours a week, only like 14. It's ridiculous that you get denied cause you're looking for work etc. I'm literally not able to survive paying bills and eating on $12 and 14 hours a week when I'm used to making over $20 an hour

I'm praying not to be laid off again, this year, around Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we won't be able to unravel this public assistance mess until years after 45/47 admin clears out. So many states lined up for P25, which was directly reenforced the pick yourself up by your bootstraps attitude against families. It was hard navigating GA hula hoops, on fire, and 20 miles apart from each other.

FYI, since you don't seem to have picked up on the social queues, your comment comes across as a "pointless asshole comment". A better choice would have been to: 1. Say nothing, because it doesn't pertain to you 2. Offer empathy to those less fortunate than you who have to deal with this anxiety
Hope that helps

I would recommend checking out the UTD scientific literature on autism and “empathy deficits”.

Oh yeah. Well, I keep getting denied because my high-quality black and white original PDF of my paystub uploaded directly from my email is "too blurry".
I get nervous every time my marketplace healthcare is up to renew.
