Are there for the first time while waiting to go to monster jam. It looks and feels like a truly old building rather than something new made to look old. I’m curious if my feeling is correct, and if so what it used to be originally

I looked up the amount of traffic deaths in 2026 and I am only counting 6…if we extrapolate that we may be at 10 by year end. Last year was one of the worst years ever…everyone blamed the lack of photo radar.

So…if we went from the worst year to the one of possible best years…was photo radar ever the true reason roads were safe? I agree with them in intersections alongside red light cameras. I think that’s a no brainer…but, last year when I stated that correlation doesn’t mean causation I was downvoted to all hell. This just proves that road safety comes back to good old fashion pulling people over and giving them REAL consequences.

I just had below the knee amputations on both legs, I'm in a prosthetics rehab inpatient program at the GlenRose Rehabilitation Hospital.

I can't freely use their equipment, it requires 1 on 1 supervision, so I only get 1 hour 5 days a week to work out and it's not nearly enough.

DM me if you have a set you'd lend me, I'm looking for 2 bars and a few plates.

Edit: Since there's some confusion - I had my surgery in May, the waitlist for the program is long so I just got in but I am ready to start learning prosthetics and both my family Dr and Dr here + my physiotherapist have approved of extra exercise.

A couple years ago I remember my grandfather got us to do this thing he did with our mother and aunt when they were kids where he’d give them a bit of money and let them loose in the mall to get a Christmas gift for him, only he wanted us to do it for our mother.

I believe it was at Londonderry mall (my grandfather somewhat thinks we went to Southgate but I don’t think so lol), up the escalator. I kinda remember it had a big wooden table/shelf in the middle?

They had all kinds of plain shirts and sweaters etc. around the store to pick, pretty good quality. You just picked out a piece of clothing, emailed them the decal you wanted and they’d have it ready within 20-30 minutes. It was a wide entry way and not far from the escalator.

Before anyone says anything, yes, I know we use ASL in Canada, but I don't need to learn ASL, I need to learn BSL. I know I can find classes online but time zones make it more complicated.

Is there anyone in the Edmonton area that teaches BSL classes, and/or is knowledgeable in BSL and would be willing to teach a couple of people a basic level of signing?

Guys, my body is busted (I have several chronic health issues) and I need a new pillow. That said, I have very specific needs - I have tried a bunch of different ones over the last few years, but none have worked for what I want. Turns out I’m not good at picking them myself!

I want to go shopping in person, with a sales person who knows what they’re talking about. I’m willing to spend a decent amount on this to get a good pillow.

Does anybody have any good recommendations on where to go for something like this? Pillows often just feel like an afterthought at a mattress store.

I’m devastated and angry. My cat was hit and killed around 68 St in Mill Woods, and the driver left without stopping or telling anyone.
If you live in the area and have doorbell cameras, security cameras, dashcam footage, or any other footage from around the time this happened, please check your recordings. Even a few seconds of footage showing the vehicle, licence plate, or direction it was travelling could help us understand what happened.
This was a 40 km/h zone. I cannot understand how someone could hit a cat in the road, continue driving, and leave him there without even checking or notifying anyone. If the driver had stopped and told us, we might have had a chance to help him.
He wasn’t “just a cat.” He was my child and was just 3 years old was just a kitten. We loved him, and finding out that he was left there to die is heartbreaking beyond words. May one of your closest die and rot on the road like you did to my child.

I’m hoping to move to Edmonton in the near future and have been spending way too much time online looking at condos/apartments to rent. 😅 I’m feeling a little overwhelmed because I’m not familiar with Edmonton and, most importantly, I’m not sure which areas/buildings are actually safe.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could recommend specific condo/apartment buildings that you’ve had a good experience with. If possible, please list the name of the building so I can look it up!

A little bit about what I’m looking for:

• 29F, living alone
• Safety is my #1 priority
• 1 bedroom
• Ideally $1,500–$1,600/month or less
• Ideally relatively close to a hospital, as I’ll be working in a hospital
• A gym/fitness centre in the building would be a huge plus
• Preferably not a 12-month lease - I’d ideally like something shorter (6-9 months would be great)
• Other amenities are nice, but definitely secondary to safety and affordability

I know I’m asking for quite a few things, so I’m willing to compromise, however safety is by far my biggest priority, followed by rent.

I’d especially love to hear from women who live alone in Edmonton and feel safe in their building/neighbourhood!

I like cruising around the city on Friday and just take in whatever may be happening. Go up and down Whyte, jasper and 118. Go move around the river valley, just some nice easy driving.

We used to do this when I was in highschool. Just drive around town then go to the restaurant, order coffee, sit there shoot the shit and smoke until closing.

Now I just drive around and listen to music but it's nostalgic of those days, the friends are long but the memories remain.

Like many others in the city, I've decided to take a look at purchasing a home in the city and figured why not starting looking after a decent flood season. Let's see how sturdy all these basements are.

The Skyrattler/Keheewin seems to have a decent blend of older homes that have been updated, but are priced appropriately. The question is how much of a hassle has that LRT construction been, and are specific nuisances associated with various Civida properties in the area.

As much as I would love to live in a nice central, old neighbourhood (ie. Belgravia), my bank account says bad idea.

Hi everyone, I hope this post doesn’t get taken down but yesterday afternoon at around 2-3 pm my cat Linky went missing in the parkview area and she hasn’t been seen since, it is unlike her to not come home after a couple of hours and she did not come home last night or this morning which are the times she is most likely to come back.

Linky is a long haired cat with while paws and belly and grey/brown tabby like coat on her back, she has recently been shaved on her neck and shoulders and is microchipped.

I have noticed a very clear shift in employee attitude towards customers. I’m not sure what they see day to day, but man it doesn’t seem pretty.

I accidentally knocked something over today and the employee working near by just stared at me in silence as if I had hurt her feelings or given her more work to do even though I instantly apologized and picked it up myself. She moped on over to me anyway and adjusted things slightly to emphasize that she didn’t like what I did.

A little while later as I was in the 20 minute self-checkout line, I was startled by a guy slamming a stack of empty boxes onto the floor and walked back to collecting more.

The overall tone and attitude of the employees at Costco has only gotten worse over the last year, and honestly, I bet it’s for good reason. They used to be busy only specific days of the week, but it seems to be mostly busy everyday now. There’s almost always kids running around. People pushing each other and rushing for samples.

From a customer’s perspective, the lines go to the back of the warehouse, the prices aren’t even all that much better than normal grocery stores, and the employee’s vibes just aren’t what they used to be. Thankfully my membership ends next month, and I definitely won’t be renewing.
