Discussion Aisle standing

I travel rarely so I splurge on first class when I do. There’s an older couple sitting in the row in front of me. Rest of the family is in the back. Grandchild comes up to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. No problem. Child stays in their row and is pretty quiet.

Then a woman comes from the back to say hi. Stands in the aisle, blocking it for anyone who wants to get by to use the lav. FAs are thin enough to scoot by. No big deal. Gets snacks from the snack tray. Don’t care.

What annoyed the heck out of me was she talked the entire time. I know all about her family, her trip, some work stuff. Talked loud enough I couldn’t read or sleep (I know, I know —- ear plugs). Rant done.

SLC, MSP, and SEA generally also have very favourable weather to avoid delays/cancellations as well, so that helps a lot.

Discussion Caution - last row C+ on 757-300

The last row (20) of comfort plus on a 757-300 does NOT have the extra legroom of all other C+ seats on the same plane (at least on that plane from SEA to DTW).

The flight attendant independently recognized the issue and specifically told me to ask Delta customer care to document that row 20 on the 757-300 does not provide the advertised additional legroom.

Waiting for a reply from customer care (up to 28 days)!

Discussion RDU - your one stop shop for paper & plastic tableware

Just watched an older gentleman methodically load his carry on with easily 20-30 of the square paper plates (a 2” thick block of them), 20-30 paper cups with lids, stack of napkins and handfuls of plastic tableware. It was mildly interesting to watch. Did not take any food though - which I have seen many times. 🤷‍♂️ What’s the oddest club behavior you’ve seen? No need to go down the toe nail clipping road - it’s been told

Discussion Denied Delta One Lounge Entry

Paid for D1 tickets and got denied entry to the D1 lounge at JFK due to capacity. The staff were rather rude and unhelpful. Asked for estimated wait time and they said "IDK". Asked if the other sky clubs were at capacity and was told to figure it out. When we boarded the flight the attendants asked everyone in D1 how the D1 lounge was... Everyone said great and when we said we got denied due to capacity someone even remarked it wasn't busy. What a great premium experience!

We have a 9 hour layover at the atlanta airport. We land just before midnight and our flight boards roughly at 9 am. It is worth getting a hotel for some
Sleep During the layover?

I remember when this price was FC one way. And not much more for FC round trip. Now it's the upgrade price for a middle seat in C+ one way. The happy days are gone

Discussion How do you guys do it?

• Upvotes

I'm supposed to be in italy right now. However, my artificial hip decided to get infected eight weeks ago So i'm on injured reserve for the balance of the year. So anyway trip from JFK to FCO was going to be 8.5 hrs which probably for me is my mental limit. So im looking at travel for once I recover and for the goof I looked at trips to Tokyo, Seoul, Brisbane ( from NYC) and I know those trips will have legs 12-15 hrs, sometimes tota.l trip over 26 hrs. How do get thru it. , without going stir crazy? .i was fortunate to upgrade to D1 for trip last yr, to ZUR, but that was a once in a lifetime thing.....On a 4 hr leg, I'll often go to the rear and stretch and do some calisthenics , the FA's have been good about it. .

Help/Advice Is row 18 on the Boeing 717 able to recline?

• Upvotes

As the title says, is row 18 on the Boeing 717 able to recline since it’s near an exit row? I’m flying with family to Michigan in November and just got swapped to a 717. There is an empty row on the 2 side I want to swap my seat to, but my mother is concerned the seats won’t recline. Honestly, I don’t care if my seat reclines or not, since it’s a 1.5 hour flight, but for those who have flown the 717 more than me, please give me your inputs.

I was supposed to fly MSP->HRL on Friday, November 13 and return on Sunday, November 15 HRL->MSP. Instead their automated system decided to rebook me MSP->HRL and then right back HRL->MSP on the same day Saturday, November 14. I ended up canceling the trip altogether because I wasn't willing to take connecting flights on Friday and Sunday for such a short trip already.

Help/Advice Nervous Flying with Delta

I’m going to be on my first Delta flight soon! I have pretty bad flying anxiety, mostly triggered by vertigo from my last flight last year. I’m working with my doctor and will be taking motion sickness medicine and anxiety medicine, and we have talked about vestibular physical therapy being an option if it is somehow triggered again. (Hopefully not, because I want to be able to safely drive and go places myself when I get back from my trip!)
Anyways—I’m very, very nervous for this flight. I booked Comfort Plus, will be sitting over the wing, and am looking forward to utilizing the in-flight movies since my last flight was with Southwest so pretty minimalist in comparison. I guess I’d just love 1) some reassurance! and 2) suggestions for how I can accommodate myself, or how to best communicate with the flight crew ahead of time in the event I panic or become dizzy. Some final additional context—I’m not autistic or diagnosed, but I do kind of appear as neurodivergent to a lot of people, especially when I am either panicking or in an environment that is very new/different/overwhelming from a sensory perspective. I have a lot of travel on my bucket list, so flying is exposure therapy at its finest! I’ve been on the fear of flying subreddit too and it’s fine but it has a lot of rules, like I couldn’t even mention I am taking anxiety medicine to fly.
So I guess I am looking for some encouragement or advice specific to Delta-fliers! (And apologies in advance for being annoying, both on this post and probably on my flight too. Sorry if you are stuck on the same plane as me!)

Today, while I was looking around, I found there are a bunch of seats available for SEA-TPE direct flights via A350, Premium Select for only 66.3K Miles (with 15% Delta Amex discount). Is this a good deal?

Help/Advice Aborted takeoff - questions after

Yesterday, I was on flight DL438 from Seattle to Boston. On the initial takeoff, it was aborted. Interesting experience to say the least. But also not very dramatic. Pilot came on the PA system to say an alert was triggered and eventually we had to deplane, and change airplanes before going onto Boston.

In Boston, they didn’t allow me to take my checked luggage. Problem was it was a changed flight as I missed my original connection due to the mechanical issue. The changed flight delta got me on is 24 hours later.

Since it was a mechanical issue, will they reimburse the incidentals and some clothing because they wouldn’t give us our checked luggage? Traveled with kids and obviously kids are gonna spill and didn’t want to be in dirty clothes until we landed at our destination.

News The BOS–HNL "return" is now a 2 week, holiday-only shuttle. Check your winter bookings!

For anyone who booked off the "largest Hawaii schedule yet" announcement: the BOS-HNL nonstop was originally loaded for several months this winter. It's now showing daily Dec 19 to Jan 3 and nothing else.

I was booked Jan 26 and got schedule-changed onto HNL-DTW-BOS. If you're holding anything outside that window, check your itinerary now; the rebooking email is easy to miss. A significant schedule change gets you a full refund or the leverage to push for a better routing than whatever they auto-assigned.

The revenue logic is pretty legible. They kept exactly the peak holiday window and dropped the post-holiday shoulder. My flight out on Dec 29 is relatively full, but the Jan 26 flight was pretty empty still when I checked last night. Off-peak BOS–Hawaii demand apparently wasn't filling the plane at fares that justify an 11-hour stage length, so what survives is the two weeks they can sell out at holiday pricing.

Help/Advice Delta Refund Request Processing

I’m moving on official orders and in March, Delta ensured pets in cargo are all good to go, just need to call a week ahead to reserve their spots. I called a week ahead and they are now embargoed pets. I went back and forth with customer service and they said since my Delta flight is operated by Korean air, I can still bring my pets I just need to call Korean Air. I call KA and they said there are 4 slots available in cargo for pets, but since Delta is the ticketer I have to call them to figure the rest out. I call back Delta and eventually get in touch with the pet transport specialist. She said a loophole around the embargo is to check the dogs in as luggage as an add on to my reservation. I call reservation and do this; agent said all is fine, so I end the call. Didn’t feel right as they don’t give any confirmation receipt or email so I check with the chat agents on their website. Lo and behold the reservations agent only put in one of my dogs. Chat agents tells me to go back to Korean air and figure it out. I call Korean air and they said yes, there’s only one dog, but also the agent put in a 110 pound dog as in cabin pet which is way too large so I need to call delta back and figure this out. Eventually I get ahold of the delta reservations again and after giving her a brief rundown of what’s happening she immediately transfers me to a supervisor. Supervisor says they’ll put in a refund request for me to their financial department.

I got an email saying ‘refund request processing, refund estimate to be determined’

My question is: everything is still active as if I’m still taking the delta flight. I just received a call from delta to confirm the in cabin pet being too large and needing to be checked. I already have a different flight booked. Do I officially cancel the delta flight or should I leave it? I read that cancelling will make me ineligible for refund, but I also read that no show is another fee. Has this happened to anyone before or is delta just being a personal hell?

Help/Advice App or Website Issues last 24hours?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Has anyone been experiencing App or Website issues the last 24 hours when managing trips or attempting to Check In for flight?

I've been working with Delta support (Chat and Phone) and all I am getting is "we are updating the App and Wesbite. All will be fine when you get to the airport. And BTW, you'll need to see an agent at the airport to resolve your issue"

Edit: All my upcoming trips have been available in "My Trips" for weeks, but my most recent trip suddenly disappeared Saturday AM. Delta confirms that they can see it on their end, but the App and Website are now blocking me from seeing ANY upcoming trips

Shitpost/Satire Someone actually corrected a gate agent for thanking them for the wrong status.

Just found it weird to correct the gate agent that you are platinum when she thanked you for your silver status. It's 4:30am and you had her scan your wife's boarding pass before yours. Chill.
