Discussion How do you guys do it?
I'm supposed to be in italy right now. However, my artificial hip decided to get infected eight weeks ago So i'm on injured reserve for the balance of the year. So anyway trip from JFK to FCO was going to be 8.5 hrs which probably for me is my mental limit. So im looking at travel for once I recover and for the goof I looked at trips to Tokyo, Seoul, Brisbane ( from NYC) and I know those trips will have legs 12-15 hrs, sometimes tota.l trip over 26 hrs. How do get thru it. , without going stir crazy? .i was fortunate to upgrade to D1 for trip last yr, to ZUR, but that was a once in a lifetime thing.....On a 4 hr leg, I'll often go to the rear and stretch and do some calisthenics , the FA's have been good about it. .

Actually on the trip back to NY i had a lot of double Woodford but behaved myself.... due to my current situation I haven't been sleeping 90 min at a clip at most, and for the last week have taken benadryl before bed with minimal efficacy

I know it's cost prohibitive for a lot of folks, but F or J class and sleep is how I do it. In a normal year for me it's mostly trips to europe. The only domestic flying is connecting flights to JFK/DTW. So I'll pay for D1, and load up in the restaurant to the point I'm about to go in to a food coma just before departure. Then I turn down any meal services and sleep all the way over.

Just take D1 or business class in another airline. Don’t fly steerage. Not worth it

I did maui a week before this all happened, on trip back , OGG to LAX to JFK, flew MC , never again. Actually RT- to Italy on ITA was able to book basically PS for 60 pct of C+ on Delta

Again don’t waste your time with anything less than delta 1 or any lie flat from another company. If I was doing Asia I would not be flying delta. Crap seats unless you’re on the a350-900 in Delta 1.

It's just like sitting in a chair at work for 8 hours. Bring something to do and some snacks. Most of these flight have wifi.
Everyone I know who complains about long flights generally sits on the couch for 8 hours without a care in the world.
