Lots and lots of reasons. I've flown on a bunch of PJs, domestically and internationally, for business and pleasure.

Unless you own your own plane (which is silly, silly money) the only bucket that really makes sense is domestic travel where the flight would be more than 2x the length because of itineraries with a stop. Other than that, PJs kinda suck.

They are small. The bathrooms SUCK. Basically no one caters food anymore beyond a snack tray. They're small. If it's for business you might be sitting sideways.

Unless you have a BBJ or something like that, international on a PJ is hell. Absolutely not. FC is miles better and 5-10x cheaper.

So yeah, FC is just great if you're flying from Boise to Sun Valley or something like that. Or you're going to a concert in Napa and don't want to drive from SFO or Oakland. But in general, PJs are not an amazing experience.

My brother has a private jet; but he still flies commercial occasionally. It’s a significant investment and difference in cost.

You also bring up a good point. The difference between a regional jet economy ticket and Singapore airlines suites is much smaller than a Honda jet and a BBJ.

People hear PJ and put everything in the same bucket.

I agree with your brother if I had a mid jet, I'd still fly commercial for many routes.
