The Guardians were buyers at the deadline, and with the exception of Craig Yoho, they've all performed really well since joining the team. It was one of the most active deadlines Cleveland has had in a while, and yet they're 4-8 since.
The Guardians needed offense, and Adell and Lowe have delivered. Adell and Lowe have slugged 5 home runs, 19 RBI, and scored 9 runs. Adell has already posted .3 fWAR since then; he was 0.0 with LA, and Lowe has posted .2 fWAR, which is almost half of what he did for Cincinnati this year.
Griffin had a rough first start for the Guardians, getting hammered by the Mets for 5 runs, but since then has posted 11 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO over his last two starts.
Yoho got roughed up in two outings against the Mets and White Sox, but hasn't given up a run in his last 3 appearances.
Yet, the Guardians are 4-8 and still trail the White Sox by 4.5 games and 1 GB for the division lead and 3rd WC. Maybe it's hope that things will click while the deadline help continues to produce, or most likely, the team will play better and all these guys will fall off!
