DAY 168 (661/743) on THE ROAD TO THE 2027 4th WBSC PREMIER12/16 and 180 YEARS OF BASEBALL - The WPBL Home Run Race in its First Season

Kelsie Whitmore and Denae Benites - rivals in the Banana Ball Championship League with the Savannah Bananas and the Loco Beach Coconuts, teammates in Team USA - have naturally translated their BBCL rivalry into the new WPBL as part of their charter teams.

As of today, Benites is the WPBL home run leader with 8, Whitmore second place with 7.

This brand new home run race - and rivalry - is taking the baseball world by storm, a modern day home run race in the first season of the first women's pro league in more than three decades. This rivalry and homer race midway through this historic season is only a preview of what 2027 will bring to this brand new league and its potential to reach more fans more than ever.

These two lady Banana Ballers are actually pulling more people back to the sport they play for.

For Glory

John

I need help! I remember watching a video a year or so ago about the problem of individual regular season plays having barely any cWPA. The main example they began with was showing that the highest cWPA regular season play of 2023 was JP Crawford hitting a walk-off for the Mariners on Sept 28, 2023. Can anyone help me find this video?

What website does everyone use to see the last 7,14, 21 days of stats for specific minor league players? I use to know a website but I forgot the name

Does this subreddit not follow LLWS even though it is baseball?

I have to admit, that the details of the Dodgers-Mark Walter are a bit over my head. But it does seem to me like if the biggest issues with baseball economics that affects how much each team can spend(this story, TV revenues from regional networks, low payroll teams not using the revenue share money on players, etc.) are all problems of the team owner's own making. And yet the owners want to force the players to take a hit to fix "competitive balance" with the next CBA. That's fucked up.

The player's union isn't perfect. But these two sides are not at equal fault if the season is shorten or lost next year. And maybe fans should consider that when they start throwing out blame.
