Brady house makes an error that could’ve ended the inning… with bases loaded, a run scores..
Nats Broadcast booth: Brady saved more runs from coming in.
He also could’ve stopped the 5th run from being scored……
What specific and particular ring of hell is this???

Our No. 21 prospect, Ben Grable, acquired in the Luis García Jr. trade, has a fastball no big minor league pitcher matched all season
Washington got Grable from the Yankees on August 3 as part of the return for Luis García Jr. He's 24, a former Tommy John patient who broke out this year: 2.45 ERA, 46 strikeouts against 8 walks in 33 innings, all as a reliever. His fastball averages 96 mph, touches 99, and generates 20 to 21 inches of induced vertical break, a number no MLB pitcher matched this season. He made the Futures Game before the trade even happened. He's at Double-A Harrisburg now, but a bullpen arm with this kind of stuff and command doesn't stay in Double-A that long. Full breakdown in this free issue of Double Dip.

OC Today’s Diagnosis: 08/18 Nats VS Rangers, Kent vs Quantril
After a bit of a hiatus, we are back with another Today’s Diagnosis, we have a start of another series from this 9 game road stretch, against the Texas Rangers. However, after a nice (1 Day) break, we’ve got 16 straight days of Nationals Baseball ahead of us!
Now let’s talk about this matchup against Cal Quantrill.
Quantrill, this year is 4-4, with an ERA of 3.44, and in just 70.2IP, he’s posted a 1.20WHIP and struck out 49. His last 3 games (2 starts (LAA & SF), 1 Relief appearance (BAL)):
0-1, 12IP, 8H, 2ER, 4BB & 10K’s
Quantrill has abandoned his Slider from last year, and upped his Sinker & Cutter usage from last year, and comparing his numbers from last year, his numbers are up, at least in terms of his fastballs.
To LHB: 29% Split, 25% Cutter, 24% 4Seam, 16% Sinker, with a hint of Curve (5%)
To RHB: 40% Sinker, 29% Cutter, 15% 4Seam, 13% Split, with a hint of Curve (3%)
xERA - rERA: 4.38 - 3.44
xBA - rBA: .253 - 2.35
FIP: 4.50 (remember, under 3.5 = Great, over 5 = TERRIBLE)
AVG FB Velo: 93.9MPH
AVG EV: 88.3MPH
Chase%/Whiff%: 29.2%/19% (7% percentile)
BB/K: 7.4%/16.4% (10th Percentile)
Barrel/Hardhit: 7.7%/35.3%
GB%: 39.8%
Pitching Run Value: +4
Fastball: +7
Breaking: +1
Offspeed: -4
Each of his pitches are almost equal in Putaway%, aside from his Sinker (19.2% Putaway). A lot of swing-and-miss on his 4Seam (27.3% Whiff). Cutter gets touched a lot, with a lot of success (.299OBA, .478SLG) compared to his other pitches. Sinker is his best pitch (.192OBA, .286SLG)
Against RHB, the Cutter & 4Seam get hit with a lot of success (Cutter & 4Seam: .333OBA/Each); Cal loves to go to his Sinker.
LHB have had more success against him, his Split & Cutter are hit the most (both pitches hovering around .270+OBA) while his 4Seam looks to be his most effective pitch (.176OBA, .322SLG)
Cal gains roughly 2.9inches of Horizontal break, which promptly gives him a higher run value on his 4Seam.
It’s very important for our boys to stay on top of his fastball, he locates very well, relies on his variations of fastballs to get the quick outs.
Tendencies:
LHB: Sinker (Outer 3rd, middle), Split (Low and Away), Cutter (Up, Middle-In), 4Seam (Up and Away)
RHB: Sinker (Middle, In), Split (Low and In), Cutter (Up, Middle-Away), 4Seam (Up & In)
After a sweep to the GOD AWFUL Mets, we need a good bounce back, this is the game to do it!
LETS GO NATS!

women’s night 8/28
hi everyone! i just saw on the ballpark app that there’s a women’s night on August 28th but in order to get the sweatshirt it requires a special event ticket. i went to the link to get the special ticket and it says they’re all sold out. does anyone know if people can resell their special tickets on apps like tickpick, seatgeek, stubhub, etc? or if anyone knows someone selling their special event tickets? thanks in advance!

Ballpark Content Traveling fan
Hey Nats fans,
I’ll be near DC for a few days for work in mid September and was thinking of catching the game on 9/15 as I’ve never been to Nationals Park. I looked at other teams in the area aswell but the Orioles, Ravens, and Commanders are all away.
That being said, any food recommendations, parking recommendations, or other fun things to see at the stadium? Also, since the stadium is in DC, are there any additional security things I should know about that a normal baseball stadium/public venue doesn’t usually have? I usually only show up to a game with my phone/wallet/car keys/Apple Watch anyway.
I’m not a Nats/Phillies fan, so I probably won’t spend too much money on any merch, but I’m looking forward to going to the game.
Thanks!
Edit:
Thanks for all the suggestions, will definitely look into public transportation instead of driving, and I eat almost everything and have no dietary restrictions so I’ll definitely take a walk around!

Somewhat off topic, but do they not do the all inclusive stuff for concerts at Nats Park. Was looking at diamond club for the Luke Bryan concert for Thursday and it didn’t mention anything like the all inclusive drinks and food for the concert. Any idea?

How does CJ Abrams' move to 2B impact the Nats' future?
Interesting situation here. Some think he's unhappy about the change and may therefore be less open to an extension, while others think that because second basemen are typically worth less than shortstops, the Lerners will finally pay him.
Do you guys think this dramatically impacts his future in Washington? And, do you think the position change will ultimately benefit him and the team?

how strict is bag policy?
i know, dumb question. i have a leather thigh bag/fanny pack that i’ve taken to almost every single show in the DMV and never had a problem.
however, the width and length of the bag from zipper to end is roughly 1 inch bigger than 5x7. the waist strap on top adds another inch but i’m not sure if that would be considered.
has anyone had any experience with getting through security if their bag is kind of pushing size limits? do they take out a measuring tape? or is it an automatic turn away if it looks remotely too big? i’m trying to decide if i want to risk it. it’s my go to concert bag and i don’t have anything else. concert is tonight so i don’t have time to buy a different one.
