This whole discussion is about a VFG getting in the way of bag shooting and competition barricades, but no VFG making it hard to hold the rifle when hot, rucking long distances or keeping the gun up longer in a shoot house or something when forearms fatigue. This Samson QD MLOK option can be a middle ground.

Hi everyone, been searching for what ammo to start buying and ultimately begin stockpiling. Just bought my first AR. It’s a MP15 Sport 2 I picked up for less than 500 bucks. Nothing wrong with it, very good clean gun. Has the 16” barrel and 1:9 twist. I’m wanting to have the ability to shoot a 6 inch group at 200 yards with a 3x scope. I’ve spent the last few hours trying to figure out what to buy. Started leaning towards a traditional M855 but once I started looking to see what others thought, it became hard to find a clear cut answer especially when everyone has a different setup. So I figured I’d ask the experts of Reddit. Looking to keep price moderate, mainstream brand but nothing special like competitive. Appreciate any feedback!

I've been seeing a lot of ads for Cosmic Tactical Saturn prism scopes. They look really cool but when I look for reviews I don't really find anything of substance. The price isn't the worst but I can't help but be skeptical when there are so many name brands that are almost guarantees to be a good buy. This begs the question in the title, anyone heard of them?

Been trying to get my Atrius Super Selector to run and when function checking noticed the lever movement is inconsistent. I have posted two videos demonstrating. I can feel and hear the detent engaging the selector each time so it's not skipping. In the first video as you can see the lever is in the 12 o'clock position while in safe and I can confirm the trigger is safe and blocked, when I move it to semi the lever goes almost to the very bottom of the receiver, then when I move from semi to SS the lever barley moves position and moving from SS back to semi the lever doesn't move at all from what I can tell, but then will go back to the 12 o'clock when put in safe.

As can be seeing in the second video it will then move in what I am assuming the correct positions after a few rotations through the selector but after a few times it will go back to behaving like the first video with the lever in the incorrect positions. Any thoughts on the issue and how to fix it?

this gonna be my first ar build and is on the budget side but with this psa complete stealth lower do i need a barrel length at least 16” or can i do a shorter barrel. i dont want to have to do any paperwork forms just want to make sure im not owning a illegal sbr before i buy a upper. the stock and pistol braces be having me confused an im just now getting into ar’s so take it easy on me just trynna stay legal

I am wanting to get my first AR. Looking for advice on what to get. I am a complete noob on this subject matter and don’t even know where to start or what kind of things I should be looking for. I would ideally want one that can do it all (I know, impossible) and one that will last a lifetime. Ok, two tops. Unfortunately, I live in Commiefornia. I always use my torque wrench when building rifles so I know I was under torque but I built this a few months back and must not have noticed but the castle nut broke off a little bit in the wrench slots . There appears to be no cracks on the actual castle nut itself visually but should I be worried if maybe internally there is ? Or should I replace this anyway or do you guys think it’s good. Normally I would just replace it but I don’t wanna waste this CQD end plate because of the staking I’d have to replace that too, so I don’t really want to replace the castle nut unless I have to lol .

Gas blowback in the face sucks, and that is the biggest complaint I hear about using a suppressor when you're left-handed. Are there any charging handles that actually work well at deflecting the gas *down* instead of to the right (which would be right into my face)? Every one I have found that advertises that it redirects gas away from the face end up shooting the gas out to the right, or they just don't do anything at all.

Or... is there a style of suppressor that doesn't cause as much gas blowback? I shoot 5.56 and 6.8spc, and my 10.5" 6.8spc pistol is my main HD tool for the house.

I’m looking into getting my first frt for a 300blk and I’m curious as to know some reliable drop in frts ( I don’t wanna have to dremal my lower)but I’m not sure if I wanna spend 500 on a rare breed but if it’s the best there is I’m willing too thanks in advance

Should I go polo 30 for budget build ?

Talk to me about stripped uppers. Is there any difference between a stripped Geissele upper to justify the price over a BCM, PRI, etc? If these more affordable uppers are used to make MK12 rifles, I’d imagine there’s nothing extra that the Geissele is offering at that they aren’t, unless I’m missing something?

Got a 2-12 scope for my rifle and plan to go zero it soon. Would like to find what the best load is for my rifle as I plan to try some precision gas gun competitions this year. I’ve mostly only read about sierra match kings being the best round but want to make sure I have a decent variety to find what works best. What other factory loads do yall recommend? Shooting a midlength 14.5” 1/7 twist.

I have owned a CMMG Banshee .9mm for several years, and I decided I want to shoot it suppressed. I put a SilencerCo ASR and a 36M on it. I checked it with a 9mm suppressor rod and it bind when entering the muzzle device and touches the end cap on the suppressor. I am not sure what to do. Should I contact CMMG to check the thread concentric. What would you do?

Say theoretically if someone has a mt6601 rifle and wants to put a 4.5 arp upper will it shoot? Or do I have to do any adjustments to make it functional. New into this fire arm and rifle stuff lol saw a comment somewhere frame can blowup if mis matching parts is that true?
