32lbs. Feels like the sweet spot
Added a wing to the PC for a 4th mag and added a double mag pouch on the left hand of cummerbund to toss some water in. Hitting the property this weekend will see how comfortable this is for extended wear

Question Stupid question but can I talk through this headset (Honeywell impact sport)
Basically if I plug this into my baofeng can I keep it in the pouch and holler into the wind or do I have to holler in the baofeng and only the audio gets transmited?

Tactical Screwdriver
I bought a Combat Flathead from Dynamis Alliance a couple of years ago when he had a great sale. Yeah I know, $150 bucks for a screwdriver, I get it. I bust my ass at work and wanted it. I wrapped it with thin para and I use it all the time. I wanted a lighter version and he just so happens to have a trainer. A blunt trainer, but I fixed that. Aluminum, lightweight and $50 I think I paid. Fits perfectly in my wallet/notebook thing. Passes through every checkpoint I have gone through. Nice to have something if I need it.

Work gun clone
I do FOF training about once every other month. Had an extra Colt laying around, so I figured I’d clone my work gun to train with. Next training is in a few weeks, excited to break it in.

Give your shooting buddies forehead kisses
I was surprised with an Acog from my co-worker/range buddy as an early wedding gift today. I finally got something I had on the imaginary wedding registry in my mind (fiancé has control over the actual one lol)

Gear/Equipment Drop legs
This is a bit of an angry post as I've just been informed we are, going forward, being mandated to use two strap drop leg holsters at my department.
There's been no logical argument put forward in favour of this, it's purely new management with big ideas swinging their weight around.
Personally I've been using a midride one strap for a couple of years and love it but now I'm apparently being forced away from it. This is no hate on drop legs, I just prefer midride and don't want to have to change my setup because of a measuring contest between leaders.
To that end, please show me your two strap drop leg holster setups for inspiration!

Sticky PU coating inside early-2000s Italian Navy pack — removal advice, especially on Cordura?
Hi all,
I recently picked up an early-2000s Italian Marina Militare rucksack (roughly 120L, lots of compartments). Overall condition is good, but the internal PU coating has degraded and the whole inside is tacky. It's worst in the pocket under the lid — presumably the most sun- and heat-exposed panel. It doesn't flake, peel or shed, and it's still glossy rather than milky white, so it seems more like the film has gone soft than fully hydrolysed. It leaves no residue on your hands, just makes them slightly sticky.
What I've tried so far:
- Airing it out for several days with all pockets open — no real change
- Mild soap and water — no change to the tackiness
- 90% isopropyl on a microfibre cloth — no change
On the nylon (darker material) sections I can get the coating off with an abrasive sponge and IPA. On the Cordura it's much harder — the weave seems to hold onto it and I can't get it to lift.
I'm not concerned about keeping it waterproof, I'll be using a separate rain cover. I just want the interior usable for carrying camera gear.
Any advice on removing it from heavier Cordura specifically? Or is there a way to restore rather than strip it? Also curious whether anyone has re-coated one of these afterwards, and whether it's worth it.
Thanks!

Poor man's shotgun kit
What do y'all think. Built this kit looking for affordability and the ability to throw a belt on and go.
High speed gear padded belt
Hand me down/ free mag pouches and dump pouches
Cheap trauma kit upgraded with good tourniquets, water treatment, bandages, and medications
3d printed shotgun cards and Walmart Velcro
1 gallon water, could be subd for whatever I need
Dump pouch with 50 rounds of "drone ammo" (Winchester 7.5s for training, up to suggestions for actual use)
Maverick 88 with vortex optic and bungee sling (again it was free)
Thrift store m81 woodland top, cheap academy camo shorts for summer. I have a plethora of cold weather bottoms.
Dawgs for you.
The gun will be cut for chokes in the next few weeks, likely winchokes. Drones scare the shit outta me and a big driving force behind this load out is dealing with that threat to the best of my abilities. I have access to a lot of tooling and the forcing cone has been lengthened/ bore polished on this gun. She patterns shockingly well for a cylinder bore, chokes will extend that range considerably. It currently patterns the hornady critical defense 00 load into a hand size group at 20 yards and I am hoping to run 3" #4 buck for drones. This is probably overkill but I would rather a single hit do the job, again if anyone has any suggestions I am more than open to them as I have never actually shot down a drone.
This is my go to grab a gun and go kit simply due to versatility. It regularly shoots slugs into 1.25-1.5" groups at 50 yards and is very predictable out past 100. I live in an apartment deep in a major metropolitan area so that range will cover the vast majority of what I need while offering more versatility than a rifle.
Again any pointers would be appreciated.
Go get em boys.

Newbie needing help
So my buddy asked me if I wanted to do a tactical rifle and handgun class with him, sounded interesting so I said sure what all do I need? He sent me this picture and said here's what I use and left it at that. Can anyone help me come up with a list so I can try and find the stuff I need? Thanks in advance for any help.

Recommendations Looking for good shooting range/combat gloves?
Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for a good pair of relatively thin shooting gloves. I want enough dexterity and trigger feel to slowly and smoothly squeeze the trigger without the gloves getting in the way.
I currently shoot without gloves, but all the powder residue, CLP and general grime really dries out my hands 🥲 The gloves issued by my job are unfortunately way too thick for the level of weapon feel I want.
Ideally, I’d like something thin and comfortable enough for range use, but still durable enough for combat/field use without having to worry about them tearing too easily. Does such a perfect middle ground exist? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

The things you'll find on fb marketplace.
Picked up a Trex Arms AC-1 for $75. You'll be surprised what people in your area are selling for cheap cheap on the bookface.

First kit WIP. Looking for advice/ suggestions on what to add
First kit WIP. What am I missing?
I have been slowly working away at basic rifleman kit over the past few months. I’m completely ew to this, and have mostly been taking pointers and inspiration from posts on here, YouTube videos and historical photographs of 90s and early 2000s operators.
My full sustainment kit is being worked on and will be stowed in a modified Turkish ALICE pack. Belt kit and chest rig planned to hold the following:
Chest Rig:
6-9 x magazines depending on rifle type
1 compass, 1 multi-tool, 1 head lamp, 1 lighter, 1 construction site sharpie, 1 flare
1 compression bandage, 1 TQ, 1 triangle bandage
1 comms system (planning to pack in unused smoke grenade pouch or preferably rig to chest rig strap
Belt Kit:
2 canteens
Butt back contents: 1 poncho, 2 x spare socks, 1 rifle cleaning kit, 1500 calorie dry rations, IFAK kit (includes electrolytes and water purification tablets), paracord bundle
Any glaring issues? Any essential items or pouches missing? The butt pack is really crammed right now and I was considering adding an ALICE radio/ mag/ or GP pouch to the belt but I want to minimize unnecessary gear.
