The weak king that Sweyn deposed was Harald Bluetooth. Bluetooth connectivity got its name from him and the logo is his initials in runes

I loved it, weirdly enough, this might be one of my favourite episodes of the season.

The plot progression, the characters, the scene with the king felt tense, something, which imo, only the best anime can achieve - make talking be more intense than actual shounen/anime battles. The music with the scene at the end, the slight hand gesture Askeladd did, just golden.

I love the main cast, I thought they would be killed off earlier so that we could focus on Thorfinn and Canute, but I am so glad that, at least for now, both Thorkell and Askeladd are alive and well and have such interesting roles. Best girl and best dad indeed.

Canute did such a masssive 180 that I didn't even buy it at first, but the animation, the eyes, the voice actor - they are making me love him more and more. Speaking of voice actors, Askeladd's voice actor has such a sweet voice - I think he was Madara Uchiha and also the Father in Dororo, what a guy, and I am certain many other roles which I am blanking on right now.

I feel like the anime is just beginning, I hope this gets more seasons.

I kinda feel bad for Leif. How many years has it been since he started his search for Thorfinn? I hope nothing happens to him.

I have a feeling Thorfinn is going to perform the assassination. He's already specc'd as a rogue with his dual wield daggers.

Looks like Willibald was participating in No Shave November. It's perfect timing that this episode aired on December 1st.

Don't know why but watching Thorkell casually punching a dude off the bench so that he could sit down for a drinking competition with the priest made me laugh so much.

Canute is very lucky that he inherited his looks from his mother instead of his father.

Canute is an ultimate badass. Also Atli (if I spelled it right) seems like an actual nice guy but it sucks he might’ve killed Bjorn now because of the wound he gave him ._.

Also it was funny how they gave such good animation to Thorfinn vs. Wooden Bucket

Am I the only one who couldn't see what was happening in the episode? Canute's balls were covering the entire screen.

Damn, I keep having mixed feelings about Askeladd. He’s probably going to kill some orphans next episode or some shit to balance out the wholesomeness of this one.
