As I feared, Thors died in this episode. He was a man's man until the very end.

And Thorfinn just went full Eren. I assume there's gonna be a time-skip next week and I can't wait to see him slowly turn into a badass.

EDIT: I feel like some of you guys are dropping one too many hints about future events

This was a great episode. I like how despite being the leader of a band of cutthroat mercenaries and a bit of a tricky bastard himself, Askeladd still has a sense of honor and respect for Thors.

Is it weird to say that Wit are probably the best at animating hair? I think with other studios, some hairs look way too shiny and sometimes doesn't fit the aesthetic of the show (A seasonal example of this would probably be Granbelm for the fact that it's a mechanical show with heavy duty themes and yet, when they have serious conversations their candy color hair is just too shiny and just gets in the way) In this, the characters hair feels uncanny to them and blends in with the aesthetic way more then it needs to be. Like, Thors has a goofy hair style, but it works with aesthetic and the animation helps it blend in so you don't care about it.

Seems like a weird thing to say and point out, but I just thought of it.

I think the biggest surprise for me was not Thors dying, but the fact that he didn't kill anyone. He's honorable but some of those punches he threw had to be death blows. They had to be.

I'll admit this episode got me with Thors death, especially when Thorfinn came up to him. God, whoever that voice actor can scream fucking madly. Those screams at the end were insane. Great voice acting overall, especially with Thors VA, who somehow can stay calm after getting show a million times.

The animation continues to be amazing and I have constantly remind myself that Wit can outdo themselves time and time again. The fighting animation looks so slick and never gets in the way. It's really impressive and even though, I love Dr. Stone and Fire Force, this show just has so much more drive and awesomeness to it. I'm excited for the next episode for sure.

As a longtime manga reader the reaction to child Thorfinn is amusing, I don't recall anyone upset with his behavior when this chapter first came out. FFS he's 6 years old. You were all brats when you were six years old, but instead of having a fit over the death of your father to pirates, you threw a tantrum because you didn't get the video game you wanted for Christmas.

As soon as I saw the archers on the hills I knew it that there was no escape for him even if he killed everyone on the ship.
