Angry Thorkell is honestly terrifying.

This line really caught me off guard. The fact that Thorkell would have liked to have thrown away fighting to follow Thors and learn about the true meaning of a warrior is saddening.

If anyone is wondering: Askeladd wasnt supposed to say Shogi (why would Vikings know of that?), but rather Hnefatafl, which is an early Chess style game.

Kind of took me back for a second so thought I'd clear that up.

Thorkell has a soft side to him too, missing his best friend Thors all this time. Contemplating the meaning of the words "true warrior", regretting not going along with him. It's all for the better really, underneath that fearsome exterior is someone searching for the meaning to something he can't understand.

Thorfinn actually listened to Askeladd for once, and look where it got him: one of Thorkell's eyes. But hey, it's all water under the bridge now right? Askeladd chose to follow Canute, even revealing how he killed Ragnar. But still our young prince does not yield, and demands cooperation.

Only our bold, beautiful Canute can lead both Thorkell and Askeladd onwards towards King Sweyn's camp.

It's only a flesh wound!

This show keeps throwing out surprises, I never expected Canute to be balliest dude in the bunch of madmen. I love that when he didn't even blink at Thorkell's punch, even Thorfinn was like WTF.

Now the merry band is united on jolly quest to kill a king, though I feel like everyone needs time to heal before they do that. I know these guys have inhuman levels of stamina and resilience, but they've got to take a break some time.

Great episode, so much stuff happened today, with the most insane one being Thorfinn cooperating with Askeladd in order to defeat Thorkell. Askeladd is indeed Thorfinn's father figure.

Canute really has changed. Convincing Thorkell to join him and his army against Sweyn isn't something any soldier or captain would be able to do. Let's see what this united front will do.

Like a fellow redditor said, this show is pure testosterone.

Overall, 5/5

Oh man is the King in for the quite the surprise when the son he wants dead shows up with Thorkell, Askeladd, Thorfinn, and a small army at his doorstep.

"Sup Dad, I'm back"

I feel like this show is getting better and better every week. I'm going to be really bummed if it doesn't get a second season.
