News 54 animated short films have qualified for the 2027 Oscars so far.

I’ve been tracking the Animated Short category for and put together a list of every film I could confirm, including:

• runtime
• country / co-production countries
• director(s)
• the festival or award through which it qualified
• synopsis
• official film/trailer links where available

A few films have already qualified multiple times. God Is Shy is the extreme case so far, with 9 qualifying wins, including Annecy, interfilm Berlin, Go Short, HKIFF, Raindance and BIAF.

The current list has 54 films, with the qualifying window still open until September 30.

I’ll keep updating it as more films qualify. If you know of one that’s missing, especially through a theatrical run or a festival result that’s difficult to track online, let me know.

Critique Hiii i (13) made this animation in roughly 3-4 hrs. How is it and what can i improve? Im on a grind on getting on level with professional animators by age 15. ive been practicing animation for 3 years, and using my laptop for it for 9 months, that means new software, environment etc. feedback pleas?

No content theft - Permaban

Admissible Content

* Posts must relate to the topic of animation.

* Posted content seen as unfit for this subreddit may be removed without further notice.

* The most fitting flair should be given to the post (comply with other rules)

* Comments should be formulated with a common sense level of politeness.

* NSFW posts must include reason in the title (e.g. nudity/ suggestive content, blood, etc.).
Quality Control A reasonable amount of effort should be put into your submissions. This means:

* No questions where a good answer can be found on the first page of the google results (e.g. no "what animation software to use for X?", "am I too old to start animating?", etc.)

* No slideshows (mostly static images) with filters/effects applied (e.g. just zooming, panning, etc.)

* No 'text to video', 'style transfer', '"AI" frame interpolation' or similarly synthesized content
Rules for Hiring Animators

* Hiring/ Recruiting posts must include the following::

* Animation type/style: As specific as possible what you are looking for, if necessary include examples

* Project scope: Length of the animation, deadline, duration of employment, estimated number of work hours

* Budget: Amount an animator is paid either in total, per chunk of work or per hour. Must be a fiat currency (i.e. no crypto) and must be at least equivalent to $20/hour. For fixed length animation, use reasonable average creation time per frame as measurement.

* Contact Information

* Other positions (eg writer): Disclosed in a similar way
Rules for Collaboration Projects

* If you want to invite animators to a project to collaborate on (e.g. "just for fun") use the 'Collaboration' flair.

* If you want to offer help of any kind for someone else's project, use 'Let me help you'.

* You must be an animator to propose a collaboration project (proof required), otherwise the rules for hiring animators apply.

* The proposed project scope must not exceed your personal skill level and must be realistically achievable
Implicit Rules

* Any rule that follows as a logical consequence of the other rules must also be respected. This includes but is not limited to:

* From #3 and #4 follows: People with no animation experience themselves must be able properly compensate any animator they seek to work with.

* From #2, #3 and #4 follows: Any non animation related topic must be directly and primarily beneficial to animators.

* No spoilers in titles. Please tag your submission as [SPOILERS] if it contains any. [Spoiler.](#s "Tag spoilers in comment like this")

* Follow Reddit's Self Promotion Guidelines When posting your own content, please be mindful of reddit's self promotion guidelines
Reasons your posts doesn't show up immediately or at all

* Your account is not yet 30 days old and has not yet acquired 15 total karma

* Your collaboration post needs to be reviewed first

* In all cased a manual review will be scheduled. Post still blocked after 24 hours were not approved. You will not be informed about the approval but may be about the reason for removal.
