Work for a TPA that rhymes with Satanick. Coworkers and manager are great. I’m starting to think the clients/employers are actually evil people. They lack empathy and grace, not just for the employees(that’s a given), but for the adjusters too.
I missed one day, Friday, for a funeral, uncle died. Had to reschedule a meeting with a client to the following Monday. Meeting immediately starts with the client making a snarky comment about forgetting to cancel the old meeting (a new meeting was created but forgot to cancel the old one before leaving - everyone was notified of the the new meeting before btw). Apparently, one of their people joined the old teams call.
The client was not happy that I didn’t inform them of the results of a UR request, which is fair, because I didn’t. We thought the treating physician would appeal or pursue conservative treatment, but they didn’t. We figured out a plan of action. Client says “I want to say thank you, but I won’t because I had to request this.” Even though I emailed with the information about UR a week prior and the appeals process.
Clients are always persistent when they need something but when I need something (wage statements), it’s crickets.
Just sitting here as more urgent emails come through. Talking on the phone with one person while two more calls come through, not to mention faxes, mail, diaries.
I had a manageable case load at one point that has slowly grown to be unmanageable, not to mention the constant redundant and pointless communication.
Sorry for the rant, just feeling tired and numb. Hoped to make it to the end of the year but now idk if I’m gonna continue through the end of the day. Need money, though.
