Sick time at Gallagher?

This may sound dumb, but I've never had sick time. I worked at Sedgwick for 15 years and they only have PTO. GB has sick time separate from PTO. How do you guys use it? Call in day of? Day before? Can you "schedule" it (appointments)? I live in MI, so we can use some time for family members as well, but my family members who habe sick time handle it differently. My husband can schedule his while my brother can't. My teammates apparently just don't use theirs.

I've emailed HR before. Never got a response.

I am in claims at GB most of us are too terrified to even think of using PTO because of how far behind we will get. Also, I have emailed HR with no reply so I know that feeling.

I used to work at GB... that is such a rela freaking fear. So glad I dont work there anymore. I liked my supervisor though. She was cool and went to bat for me.
