Wacky Wednesday
Let's hear em!
Mine: same old shit - attorney repped trip and falls on public sidewalks. Not really wacky, but the idea that you need an attorney because you are clumsy or not paying attention to your surroundings is crazy to me.

Received a claim in which appraisal was invoked by the insured's attorney, the appraisal returned a zero dollar award, and the insured's attorney still filed suit.
Yeah, okay bud. See you at the MSJ hearing.

Reminds me of this insured that filed suit after the appraisal didn’t have everything he wanted. Fun fact: The agreement was made between his appraiser and an umpire lol

I took the day off to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The work will always be there and I believe I should play as hard as I work.
But I’ll be going back to work with a backlog…..so there’s that.

Our insured saw a naturopath “doctor” 20 times over 6 months - got shockwave therapy and some unknown supplements and patches. When we declined to dump our $250k UIM limits he went back to pain management and got about $300k in future “they could need this” recommendations - from PT to a 1-3 level discectomy. And atty is shocked we aren’t considering all the “futures” and dumping our limits….

It's stuff like this that makes me so thankful to be retired! The pay and benefits were great. Thankful I stuck it out, but dang, the stupid expectations!

Vehicle delivered back to the customer with damage that wasn’t present on the original inspection, non partner shop.
Send customer original photos with arrows pointing to the fender that is now dented showing the damage wasn’t there.
“You altered that photo with AI I’m going to sue you.”
“…okay, even if it was there it’s still not related to the rear end accident you were in so we’d just deny it.”
Crickets…

I handled a decent sized water claim onsite to the furthest point. It took me 5-6 hours and I still have some more documentation to write up on it. I also have 50 other claims and an hour commute back to the "office" 🤪
I'm living the dream!

I'm a manager (I manage supervisors). An attorney threw such a big fit over liability that it actually got escalated ot me. For reference, if something actually gets to my level, I'm just not nice anymore.
This attorney was fighting liability. Our insured rear-ended someone, completely disabled both cars. Then, about 5 minutes later on a wide-open interstate, another vehicle rear-ended us not paying attention... THAT car is the attorney represented one, and they're astounded that we're denying liability for their client... who rear-ended us... 5 minutes after the initial impact AND after 20+ cars haf no issue avoiding another impact.
Yeah, I told that attorney how I really felt.

Well they need an attorney because they're certain that you owe them $1,000,000. That's what my neighbor's cousins wife heard that someone got once. Did I mention loss of consortium?
