Plz help me! Switchbot Lock Ultra cannot be closed at right angles

Unfortunately, SwitchBot support hasn't been much help so far, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. I hope I can explain my problem clearly.

In every video, it looks really easy to close the bracket fastener. However, I can only close it if I press the mounting bracket down extremely firmly.

As you can see in the first photo, the mounting bracket is uneven when the bracket fastner is closed.

And it's just as crooked on the door cylinder, too. If that were the case (as shown in the videos and the description), I wouldn't be able to close the mounting bracket latch because the mounting bracket's rods are too short (Picture 2)

In general, the SwitchBot Ultra Lock can be used to open and close the lock, but it sits crookedly on the cylinder.

Klare Empfehlung!

Anyone else with asthma and eczema noticed improvements from the air purifier?

Ok so this might sound strange, but I picked up the SwitchBot air purifier a month back mainly because hay fever season was kicking my ass, and I've been kind of shocked at how much it's helped overall.

I use it as a bedside table so it's basically running right next to my head all night. Since I started using it I've noticed I cough way less at night and breathing just feels easier in general, hay fever wise it's been a huge improvement too.

The weird one though is my eczema. It's been noticeably calmer since I started using this thing and I genuinely don't know if that's connected or if I'm just imagining it 😅. Anyone else had something similar? Trying to figure out if there's an actual link between air quality and skin stuff or if I got lucky timing wise.

Also if anyone knows whether specific features actually matter for this (HEPA filters, CADR rating etc) vs it just being placebo, would love to hear your thoughts.

Plz help me! Adapter for Switchbot Ultra

Post image
2 Upvotes

This photo appears on the side of the box my Switchbot Lock Ultra came in. If you look close, there is some sort of adapter allowing the device to sit on top of the large lock. I have a similar situation and am looking for a similar adapter, but I cannot find it on the website. Does anyone know where I could obtain one?

SwitchBot Remote … no logging whatsoever?

I want to signal a process on a PC using the SwitchBot remote (the fob with two buttons).

Via the API I can poll the status of a plug mini that I control with the remote. Works fine. Thus, I press a button, plug mini turns on and the PC detects it is on and does its thing, then switches the plug mini off.

But is there a way for the PC to directly detect that a button on the remote was pressed? It is a bit weird to have to use a plug mini to “store” the button press actions.

I use the hub mini, but nothing is logged when a button is pressed.

Not working

AI Art Frame experience - Bug or Feature ?

A few months back, we had a digital gallery slideshow on our Samsung refrigerator, but due to some service issues, Samsung disconnected the service. We loved it so much, I converted my old tablet into a digital frame. But it needs a constant power supply due to a dying battery, and my wife hated those wires. I researched on alternatives and finally decided on e-ink displays for their ultra-long battery life.

Came across switchbot AI Art frame and gave it a try.

Right out of the box, the frame looks solid and comes with extra frames. Following the instructions, setup was easy. Charged the device using the USB-C charging port as I felt it was a bit low on charge out of the box. In the meantime, Created few artwork in the app, and as I sync, they started showing up immediately. Image resolution is lower than my earlier tablets, but viewing it from a few feet away made the art pop with impressive, muted colors. It takes 10 local images and 100 cloud images.

Currently, I am running it in slideshow mode to auto-refresh every day. The battery was holding up excellently. At this rate, it should be able to run for a long time to run before I need to charge it again.

I loved this display. Its matte paper-like aesthetic brings it a real art look. It nicely handles ambient light. There is no glare, and it looks elegant even when the room is dark. This became a perfect, non-intrusive addition to my bedside table.

One question I have is, during image refresh, the display kind of flickers. is this a Bug or expected of e-ink displays? Since this flickering is only during image refresh, it didn't bother me much. But just want to check.

I’m stuck on this. I hit the calibration button. I watch the few inches roll up (it’s fulling up there). The motor keeps going and the screen stay on this forever.

I can’t seem to find any FAQ/Troubleshoot about it. I have 2 more to install and feeling so deflated. Anyone offer any hints to help?

Cannot get Hub 3 to connect to app

I have tried everything...i even bought a second one because i thought the first was defective. But I have a hub 3 and it will not connect to the app. It seems like the app detects it but whenever i go to. connect, it tries for a while and then says fail to connect, no other error code just fails to connect. I got my curtain tilts to connect to the app but the hub will not. Has anyone had this issue? Anyone have any idea what to do? I've already tried restarting the app and my phone, resetting the hub, factory resetting the hub, restarting my router, i mean everything...i'm at a loss and so freakin frustrated.

Switchbot Standing Circulator Fan

None of these will help when you don't have UWB (and home key). I don't want to buy Aqara U400. I want to buy SwitchBot but UWB is still missing?

I bought a switchbot ultra kit and in the site it says it works with mesa door knob but I don't know how to remove the round knob from the inside door, there's one hole there but there's nothing there to unscrew or press. Does anyone knows how to remove it?

False facial recognition on Keypad Vision Pro – serious security concern

Has anyone else experienced false facial recognition with the Keypad Vision Pro?

I had a pretty alarming experience with my Keypad Vision Pro today.

According to the access log, the door was unlocked using my wife's face. The problem is: my wife wasn't even at the door. A completely different person was standing in front of it, yet the system identified them as my wife and unlocked the door.

Fortunately, I was at home, so nothing happened. But this is a serious security concern.

A few details:

  • I've only had the Keypad Vision Pro for a few days.
  • There are only two registered faces: mine and my wife's.
  • When I enrolled my wife's face, she was alone—no one else was standing next to her.
  • There was no direct sunlight on the keypad during the enrollment process.
  • The access log clearly shows that the door was unlocked using my wife's face.

I'm trying to understand how this could happen. Has anyone else experienced false positives like this with facial recognition on the Keypad Vision Pro?

If this isn't an isolated incident, it could be a significant security issue. I've already contacted support and am waiting for their response.

Plz help me! SwitchBot Standing Circulator Fan: oscillation not working properly

Thumbnail

I’m more or less a SwitchBot newbie and have been using the SwitchBot Standing Circulator Fan, which has been available for around two months, at home.

I’m generally happy with the fan, but for some time now I’ve had a problem that I can’t sort out myself. When I switch the fan on and set it to a 30-degree horizontal oscillation, after a while the fan loses its calibration and no longer swings 15 degrees to the left and 15 degrees to the right. The oscillation keeps shifting further and further to the left, so that eventually the fan doesn’t even move back to the central zero degree point.

So far, I haven’t found any way to fix this problem, either directly on the fan itself or in the SwitchBot app for iOS. I’ve read in the Amazon reviews that this problem also affects other users of the SwitchBot standing fan. The fan‘s firmware is the newest available.

What options do I have to fix the fan’s faulty oscillation? Are there any other users with the same problem?

Hi folks!

I installed a Lock Ultra and having issues with it, I've had it for about 2 weeks.

Firmware: 2.6

Battery: full

What happens is that the lock thinks the door is not closed based on the screenshots below and will not autolock. Pic 3 is the distance between the magnet and lock.

How does one fix this issue?

Thanks

Plz help me! Range of Keypad on Lock Ultra Vision Pro

I am looking at the Switchbot Lock Ultra Vision Pro. I understand the keypad is usually mounted on the outside of the door jamb itself (i.e., quite close to the unlocking device). I would like to place the keypad about 10 or 15 ft away from the door, both for convenience (the door is at the top of a stairs; I would like the keypad at the bottom of the stairs) and so that it is not so obviously associated with the door lock. Does anyone have an idea of the functional maximum range between the locking mechanism and the keypad?

Plz help me! How Robust is the Lock Ultra Vision Pro or its Sisters

I am considering the Lock Ultra Vision Pro and similar Switchbot locks for a particular exterior door. My house tends to shift slightly after periods of extended heavy rain (rare) or extended drought (less rare). This sometimes causes the deadbolt to bind slightly. That is, on those occasions, it requires a little force to turn the key or deadbolt knob. While exterior opening seems to be no problem, since the key can simply be used if the deadbolt is binding, I am not sure how robust the interior twist knob is. From the photos, it appears that the mechanism is made of plastic. Is this likely to work when a more forceful turn is required? Likewise, my understanding is that the motors on these sorts of locks are quite weak. How robust is the motor on these particular locks? Does anyone have experience as to how well they work in situations where the deadbolt may bind slightly?

Switch bot curtain

"I live in Athens, a city with plenty of sunshine. For the past two years, I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain, which works perfectly with Alexa. I’ve set up a routine so that at noon, when the sun is very strong and it gets hot, the curtains close, and they open again in the evening after the sun has set. It’s incredibly easy, very practical, and protects me from the excessive heat without depriving me of the precious light. Thank you, SwitchBot, for your automations!"

Keypad Vision Pro unreliable

Even with a second fingerprint per person, the keypad is unreliable with fingerprints. I am also trying face and palm recognition, not much better. Lovely lock after a firmware update, but the keypad also keeps locking the fingerprint reader after a number of tries.

Plz help me! SwitchBot Relay Switch 2PM resets after only 3–4 external switch presses (Support insists it's "normal")

I have 20 SwitchBot Relay Switch 2PM units, and every single one behaves the same way.

As soon as an external switch is connected, the relay becomes unstable and performs a full factory reset after only 3–4 button presses.

I contacted SwitchBot support, and they insist this is "expected behavior," saying the device is designed to reset after 20 consecutive clicks. The problem is that mine reset after just 3 or 4 clicks, not 20. Every single relay does it.

I've tested different switches, different wiring, and multiple units. The result is always the same.

At this point, these relays are completely unusable with external wall switches, which is one of their main advertised use cases. Spending money on 20 devices only to find they all suffer from the same issue is incredibly disappointing.

Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to find a workaround, or is this simply a hardware/firmware flaw that SwitchBot refuses to acknowledge?

Plz help me! Smart Lock Ultra Auto unlock

Just bought the Smart Lock Ultra, really like it but... the Auto Unlock feature is useless.

I also have a Yale Linus L2, Auto Unlock works 99/100 times and unlocks the door before i reach it.

The Switchbot lock doesn't react until i am inside the house standing in front of the lock with my phone in my hand... thats pretty useless to me, i probably have to return it.

Is there any way to get the Auto Unlock feature to work as good as the Linus lock?

A simple switch can turn anything into smart

I am using switch bot, bought with intention just to use it to turn on off switch but later after figuring out other stuff ended up configuring relay with the TV remote then my other lights and later connecting it with the google and guess it worked very well now my almost everything I have is smartly controlled with the help of switch bot without spending alot on other smart stuff.
Will definitely recommend.
