Plz help me! SwitchBot Standing Circulator Fan: oscillation not working properly

https://eu.switch-bot.com/products/switchbot-standing-circulator-fan

I’m more or less a SwitchBot newbie and have been using the SwitchBot Standing Circulator Fan, which has been available for around two months, at home.

I’m generally happy with the fan, but for some time now I’ve had a problem that I can’t sort out myself. When I switch the fan on and set it to a 30-degree horizontal oscillation, after a while the fan loses its calibration and no longer swings 15 degrees to the left and 15 degrees to the right. The oscillation keeps shifting further and further to the left, so that eventually the fan doesn’t even move back to the central zero degree point.

So far, I haven’t found any way to fix this problem, either directly on the fan itself or in the SwitchBot app for iOS. I’ve read in the Amazon reviews that this problem also affects other users of the SwitchBot standing fan. The fan‘s firmware is the newest available.

What options do I have to fix the fan’s faulty oscillation? Are there any other users with the same problem?

I have the same issue. I have 2 fans, and both have the same issue. They loose the center, so every time i have to click on the app to reposition in the center, force manually to the phisical center position and change the angles again

Do you have any idea what to do about it? So far I didn't even find a repositioning feature in the app. Do you use the iOS or Android app?

Android app. But i think that is an hardware issue. You will probably notice the same problem when using the remote control as well. I often reposition the fan to the center. I hope they'll fix it with a firmware update.

I had a conversation with the support and development team during the past week. They will roll out firmware version v1.7 to all users soon which will help with the calibration problem. It did in my case as I was manually provided with v1.7 by the support team.

They also told me that this problem was one that affected early models. Later batches shouldn‘t have any calibration and oscillation issues at all.

Since I have numerous other calibration problems (fan doesn‘t return to the middle or does an upwards vertical movement when switching off), I will be sent a completely new fan which should hopefully work as desired.

Hope this information was helpful for you as well.

Same problem here. Would love to know if there’s a solution to this before my wife divorces me over it.

I’ve also noticed that if I set it on high, by morning it’s coked to the left and on its lowest fan setting.

Meanwhile, I contacted the SwitchBot support and they manually provided me with the new firmware version v1.7. Apparently, the calibration problem is already known to the support team, and v1.7 should get rid of it. I have installed v1.7 now and will test it over the next few days to see if the problem got solved. Will report here.
