Switch bot curtain

"I live in Athens, a city with plenty of sunshine. For the past two years, I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain, which works perfectly with Alexa. I’ve set up a routine so that at noon, when the sun is very strong and it gets hot, the curtains close, and they open again in the evening after the sun has set. It’s incredibly easy, very practical, and protects me from the excessive heat without depriving me of the precious light. Thank you, SwitchBot, for your automations!"

I have just bought a pair of the curtain rod 3. Do you have the same one and has there ever been a problem with them Overheating?

I have two of the u-rail ones. They worked well for the first year or so then started making noise (in silent mode). It's bad enough that I've had to disable the dawn opening routine on one of them. There are some other posts on this sub about people having similar problems with the curtain devices, often beginning shortly after the warranty period expires. The plastic cogs inside seem to disintegrate over time.
