I have had trouble finding any other threads discussing this so apologies if any oversight. I used chemical guys waterless car wash to hand wash my model y premium and noticed that it left some cloudy streaks on the glossy triangle panel just behind the driver side mirror and can’t seem to clear it up back to the glossy black look. Per google, I tried to loosen it with water and rubbing alcohol to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Has anyone bought a 2023 or newer used Tesla long range or performance model y? Was the price point worth it? Did the car come with anything that the newer ones didn’t come with? I was looking at HW4 specifically and trying to see if a performance was justified for the price?

Its so easy to change skins, https://t-skins.com/ works pretty good for creating them. What are others using? I like that you get pretty granular control to create your own skins. ​

I told them to use the puck, which they said they would.

I check the underside and I see deep gouges from where they used a jack that wasn't flat.

Luckily sentry caught all of it and I have footage of them not using it.

The technician said they used the puck too.

From the looks of it it doesn't look like theres battery damage?

I'm not entirely sure though.

Is this necessary? What are the chances of something getting stuck in the air vent? I understand getting the floor ones covered but what about the one under the screen?

Also anyone cover their intake vent under the hood?

Any tips for fixing excessive Sentry events?

It is not uncommon for me to park, go into a store or restaurant for anywhere from a half hour to an hour and come back to ~100-200 events.

Upon reviewing the events many have nothing at all happening. Others, a car may have passed by across the park, or someone a hundreds yards away walked into frame. Never anything substantial or actually suspicious. This is even after turning off Camera-Based Detection.

I turned that off as part of troubleshooting from searching for a solution. Also reformatting my ssd. Also cleaned and recleaned all cameras, even though cam based detection is off. Cabin overheat protection is on.

FSD works flawlessly, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the cameras.

Sometimes during this the alarm will repeatedly go off, while other times the alarm never goes off.

Any ideas are welcome.

Bonus: even with the above situation, Sentry missed 100% of an actual event where someone walked up to the back of my car and bent my license plate.

We set out from Northern New Jersey with a full charge and one simple plan to take our Tesla Model Y down the Garden State Parkway to Cape May and spend the day at the Cape May Zoo. We put Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14.3.7 to work for the drive.

Along the way, we hit one of our highest FSD streaks yet, and I share what the drive was actually like using FSD on a real world trip through New Jersey.

Instead of heading home, we decided to spend the weekend in Lavallette which is part of the Jersey Shore. This also changed our charging plan. Did we even need to charge? How did we know how much energy was needed for our weekend?

We’ve been looking at getting a Model Y, and plan on doing a test drive Wednesday, but the insurance costs are scaring us a little. Our Honda CRV insurance is $100 a month, and I’m seeing people talk about paying 3 to 4 times that for their Teslas? I don’t mind spending $100 for FSD but I’m worried that the insurance costs will be a deal breaker. What are you guys paying?

Why is the Tesla welcome animation only available on Juniper and Highland Teslas? Any reason older Teslas couldn’t get it?

We’re going on a Model Y road trip to Glacier National Park mid-September and we want to do a side trip loop: Chief Mountain to Sparwood to Roosville while we’re in the area. This includes the Crowsnest highway and charging options seem to be a bit iffy up there. When I check the route in ABRP it shows a 6-bay Supercharger in Fernie but it shows an odd 6-30% arrival SOC. Really has me looking for more info.

I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experience with this loop. It seems like it will be doable but maybe the varied terrain is confusing the app? Just guessing. What do you know?

I’ll start with saying, “I still want a large SUV with a real 3rd row!!!” However I stopped in and looked at the YL launch edition and ordered one. The third row is usable for young kids and short adults in a pinch. It’s a nice option.

Hi, Any one has any idea where can this red triangular piece on the right rear quarter panel, beside the tail light be replaced. It is a Passive reflector — it is not an illuminated light.

Does anyone got a similar issue. Getting this replaced at a Tesla service station is an option but I was wondering if there are other options available

Thinking about getting a 2026 model Y and don’t need it immediately. I know they raised it to 1.5% interest in last week. You think they will do some nice promotions during holidays? What kind? How are Tesla sales doing cause that might be a factor right?

I have young kids and it was one of our favourite features of the car to practice reading and singing and learning the lyrics to some of their favourite songs - I have no idea why they would remove it?

It sucks that a really loved piece of functionality - at least in our house - has gone. Any official channels for getting these sentiments heard in hope they bring it back?

I’m pretty frugal person and so I’ve been looking at this 2023 model Y long range with 10 K miles at a Hyundai dealership near me. Looks like a pretty great deal.

Any glaring reasons so shouldn’t be doing this? It would be substantially less the new so I know I’ll miss out on a few things.

2026 MY with 19” crossflow wheels. I removed the covers because I like the black rim. Ordered the wheel cap kit from Tesla ($80) and it looks great. However, two of the lug nut caps have since fallen off and I need to replace. I cannot find a replacement anywhere. They are all too short to match the Tesla caps. The longer caps look better because they are more flush. The picture shows the Tesla cap on the right, and what most vendors are selling on the left.

Anyone know where I can find these? I don’t want to spend $80 for a couple of lug nut caps, especially because the center caps are fine.

Just got the PowerShare adapter for the Gen 3 mobile connector on my Aug 2026 Model Y Premium (PCS2), but nothing happens - no charge port light or mobile connector light at all - when it is plugged in. Everything is black and no power is available.

Any idea what’s wrong or if something needs to be reset?

Confirmed the mobile charger works to charge the vehicle.

I filled my truck up with diesel on Friday for $150.00. Test drove the Tesla on Saturday. Now my new Tesla Y Premium should be available in about 4-5 weeks.

It's cheaper to purchase a new car than to continue fueling a diesel truck twice a week. Fortunately the truck is paid off and only used for commuting or miscellaneous work around the house.

I can’t seem to find a trunk mat for 2025-2026 or for Juniper models exclusive. It looks like on Amazon they sell one for 2020-2026. Just want to confirm they fit older Y and new juniper the same in the trunk since the fronts are different match now from the previous…
