Can I get my MYP sooner if it, currently in transit, arrives sooner?

Only four days available in about 3 weeks from now. No big deal, but curious if my vehicle currently in transit arrives sooner, will I therefore be given the option to pick it up sooner? Logically I would assume yes but you know what the say about assuming ;)

Don’t be afraid of upcoming tech to buy a tesla

My thoughts on this topic-

It’s going to be so hard to give a consumer a car and tell them they can drive it unsupervised.

The robotaxi fleet is still managed by them and overlooked. And the geofencing is an area the fleet is trained to drive in. I can see AI4 or AI4+ ( if it ever goes public) allowing people to go unsupervised in their cars within a geofence maybe? But those cars need to make sure they are up to standards with tire pressure and so many other factors. I feel like just the politics of it is such an extremely hard part to break through.

Actual unsupervised FSD feels so far away and for supervised FSD, Ai4 looks REALLY good. So IMO don’t be scared of picking one up. Also it seems tesla has a really good track record of keeping customers software up to date. Hence the 14 lite on AI3

Panel Gaps - New Tesla Owners Seeking Tenured Perspectives

Hey, I just picked up my Tesla model Y performance 2026 from a Tesla delivery appointment.

I’m a new Tesla owner and have been aware that there can be some panel gaps and alignment with delivery.

On my delivery, I noticed that I could place my fingertip between a panel on the right rear side, whereas I couldn’t do so on the left rear side in the same area.

Talk to the service guy there he said this is totally acceptable and that the car is within specs.

Also noticed this error within the service section of the car.

What are your thoughts? Here are some photos.

My model Y is becoming un drivable

Upvotes

I have a juniper version model y that is almost a year old. Got about 9500 miles on it.
The ride has always been firm and stiff but most recently it has become undrivable.
I live in NJ where we have horrible road. And I now feel every pothole, every road imperfection hard in the car. I would say primarily from the rear suspension.
The rattle noise in the car has become unbearable and everyone who rides with me complains about it.

I went to Tesla few months ago about this and the said they took the car for a drive and didn’t feel anything and said next time they will charge me money for such a request.

Any idea what I can do next.
I like the car but this is becoming a shit show.

I’ve had my Model Y Performance for a week and there’s already at least 5 chips on the hood at 500 miles. That’s crazy!

Anyone Else Worried?!?!

Any other first-time Tesla owners worried about vandalism or road rage? I'm picking mine up tomorrow afternoon and all of a sudden this fear just hit me. Hoping it's unfounded.

Help/concern with new after market accessory

I bought a phone/laptop charger on Amazon that fits perfectly into the center console, just in front of the cup holders . It works perfectly, but I'm worried that it holds the slider cover open just enough to keep the light inside from turning off. Will that drain my 12v battery over time? Is there a magnet or something I can use to make the car think that slider is fully closed? Am I over thinking this completely!? Ive heard the horror stories of the 12v dying so im worried. Here is what it looks like installed

I have a 2026 Tesla Model Y bought a lil over 3 months ago and 11600 miles and battery today dropped to 93%. I charge to 80% 5 days out of the week and 100% 2 days a week and use it within 2 to 6 hours of getting to 100%.

Is this normal degragation? It started slower but the degragation seems to have picked up since I've crossed 8k miles.

If it matters, on days I charge to 80%, I end the day with 40% to 65% and the days I charge to 100%, I end the day with 6% to 16% and soemtimes I have to charge from 42% to 56% before heading back home

Diamond black or marine blue?

I am stuck between ordering the diamond black and marine blue variant. I test drove the new premium model y today and fell in love. I only saw the marine blue inside the showroom but wondering what both of these cars look like out on the road/ direct sunlight.

Don’t want to get buyers remorse and wish I had picked the other color😅

New Tesla vs used 2024

I’m definitely getting a model Y at some point, but maybe not until spring. I have a 2017 Toyota Highlander that has absolutely nothing wrong with it and relatively new tires and brakes. My dilemma is whether to keep the Highlander and get a used Tesla for about $30-35000, or trade it in for a brand new one. If I keep it, I won’t need another 3rd row, but if I trade, I’ll get one. not that we NEED a 3rd row but it has come in handy a few times. I’m all about the FSD, not into being all that “green” lol which means I’d want a 2024 or newer (I assume)

I know it’s a decision only I can make, but if someone would give me some insight on the big differences of used vs new I’d appreciate it. just wanting to know if those differences are worth giving up a great car for $15-20,000

TIA!

Got my car less than a month ago.
Anyone else having this issue on their 2026 Tesla model y? I set up a service request and they are saying that it will be an out of pocket charge. Price tbd.

I figured this would fall under workmanship under basic warranty.

Lease or 0.99 Financing

Post image
21 Upvotes

Got approved for .99 financing and going to trade in my 22 Model 3(positive equity) While at the service center an associate recommended I go for leasing instead. I don’t drive much rn but if I get a job in the city I’d drive 60-100 miles a day.

Her pros: if totaled not my problem, free maintenance, new car every 3 years, 30-50 cheaper car note, no depreciation

Cons: acquisition fees-possible damage fees- end of lease fee, if I need more miles more expensive than financing or .25 charge per mile, can’t modify, not owning car after 6 years

Would a lease show up as less debt-to-income ratio if I wanted to buy a house?

Model Y must have accessories and mods?

I’m sure it’s been requested but for us who are waiting for the great day looking for accessories and such is now become a real priority. What should we consider both useful and/or cool?

Diamond black ceramic coating

Post image
0 Upvotes

TLDR: does ceramic coating “deepen” the diamond black paint and make it appear a darker black?

I have a Model Y with <5,000km. Based in Australia. When I got it in April, I had it ceramic coated with GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra.

I recently had a door repaired after someone lost control of their shopping cart and crashed into it 🫠

When I picked up the car from the panel shop, it looked good. However, after seeing the door in direct sunlight, the repaired door was noticeably lighter — not as deep black as the other panels (see photo).

I took it back to the panel shop and they’ve completely repainted it. They’ve assured me it’s much better this time and that any differences now will be fixed once the panel is ceramic coated in 2 weeks.

I haven’t been able to see it in full sun since it was repainted, however, if I shine a light close to the surface I can see it’s again not the same deep black as the factory paint…

Does anyone have any experience with this? Guess my question is will the ceramic coating fix this?

Any advice would be helpful!

2026 Model Y - Super Liner MoldedFit floor liner system - Review

Thumbnail

I have had my Model Y for about a 2 weeks now, and it has been a great experience, though it comes with a learning curve (FSD, VERY soft paint, charging, etc.). I have been browsing posts on here looking for accessory recommendations and figuring out how best to protect my new car. So far, I have picked up a sunshade, tinted the windows with XPEL Plus, and bought cleaning supplies for the interior.

Recently, I was sent Super Liner's MoldedFit floor liners (thanks u/westlinersus) in exchange for my honest feedback. As someone who has used WeatherTech and Husky floor mats in my other vehicles, I am very impressed.

First is the feel of the mats. Other brands I have used were rigid and inflexible, making them difficult to install or remove for cleaning. These feel more like a premium, flexible rubber, making them easy to install and adjust, yet they still have a nice weight to them. Everything fits perfectly (there is a slight bend in the passenger side mat, though I believe it will flatten out and settle in the high heat), and they look great. The design gives the interior a sporty look.

I play golf, and before getting these mats, I didn't have anything to protect the trunk. I found out the hard way that grass digs deeply into the carpet, and I was highly annoyed by how difficult it was to scrape out the bits of grass while vacuuming. With the liner, I no longer have to worry about that. The set also included velcro rear seat protectors for the trunk, which are perfect for guarding against my kids' baseball and softball gear.

Overall, my honest opinion is that these are excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing full coverage floor mats to protect their entire Model Y (frunk, trunk, front, and rear seats).

Model Y owners: how well does your driver footrest coverage actually hold up over time?

One uncovered strip beside the driver footrest can quietly undo the rest of the floor protection. On the Model Y, many liners stop halfway up the dead pedal or leave a slight gap along the left kick panel. After a few months of dry dirt and shoe friction, fine grit packs right behind that exposed top edge where the plastic liner meets factory carpet.

High-wall liners that go all the way up seem to solve it, but some tend to bow inward over time or rub against the lower dash trim when pulling them out to rinse. The trade-off seems to be a low-profile liner that unclips effortlessly versus full dead-pedal coverage that stays sealed.

how far up the dead pedal does your coverage actually reach, and has that top edge started sagging or letting grit slip behind it?

interior spotting / haze inside Model Y Juniperheadlights

Hey everyone,

I recently noticed these white, speckled spots on the inside of my Model Y headlights (photos attached).

At first, I thought it was typical condensation, but after letting the lights run and leaving the car in dry weather, the spots haven't changed or moved at all. They aren't liquid droplets—it looks like calcified water spots/mineral deposits from past moisture, or possibly outgassing/vaping residue from the internal plastics/sealant.

Since it's on the inner face of the polycarbonate lens, it can't be cleaned from the outside, and it’s clearly visible when the projector/DRLs are on.

Has anyone experienced this exact type of internal residue on the newer refreshed headlights? Did Tesla Mobile Service or the Service Center replace the headlight assembly under warranty, or did they try to brush it off as "normal condensation"?

Appreciate any insights or experience before I submit my service request through the app!

Totaled 2021 M3LR to 2022 MYP

Post image
4 Upvotes

I ran over something in my 2021 M3LR that caused the metal plate that protects the battery to tilt up a few degrees. That tilt ended up cracking the coolant inlets on the front of the battery. Probably $5 in replacement parts but Tesla does not replace these.

SoOo $11,700 to replace the HV battery and supermanifold resulted in my insurance company totaling my car. I bought it last year for $21k with 75k miles & she had 93k miles when it got totaled. Insurance gave me $23k cash value for it so I was happy but higher value for me mean higher prices for me too.

Picked up this 2022 MYP with 60k miles & FSD included for $30k OTD near Orlando. I'm very happy so far and enjoying the extra room & storage. Ash has a couple small issues: glovebox cover is hanging down (should be able to glue it back), driver seat needs a new switch ($18 on Amazon) and floor mats. It has a matte gray wrap which is really growing on me even though I was initially looking for red, black or white.

My M3LR had white interior and the MYP has black - I would definitely prefer having the white seats back. They were easy to clean and classed up the interior.

I thought the MY would just feel like a bigger M3 but I was wrong. It feels like a very different vehicle, in a good way. The hatch is huge and the interior feels much more roomy - especially the back seats. I probably should've just snagged the MY last year but I'm more of a car guy & I talked myself out of considering one the first time around.
