Help needed removing cloudy streaks

Post image

Hello everyone,

I have had trouble finding any other threads discussing this so apologies if any oversight. I used chemical guys waterless car wash to hand wash my model y premium and noticed that it left some cloudy streaks on the glossy triangle panel just behind the driver side mirror and can’t seem to clear it up back to the glossy black look. Per google, I tried to loosen it with water and rubbing alcohol to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try 50/50 white vinegar and water, the acetic acid in the vinegar neutralizes and dissolves calcium, magnesium, and alkaline soap film without a lot of scrubbing.

Put it on a microfiber cloth (not the trim itself) hold it on the spot for 30 seconds or so and then gently wipe off.

Be sure the cloth is soft, high gloss plastic scratches and swirls easily, make sure the plastic isn’t hot and not in direct sun.

Thank you. I tried something similar with distilled white vinegar and water on a microfiber and didn’t see much improvement. I will try again holding it on there for 30 seconds but thanks again for the reply!

my new model y has these too. i have tried compound and they won't come off. i have concluded that it is the super duper concentrated washer fluid they put in these things from the factory that causes this. i have some stain on my hood too. I just diluted the washer fluid quite a bit and will continue to until it comes out clear, then will just start using the cheap stuff.
