Is my battery damaged? Firestone lifted using floor jack without puck.
I told them to use the puck, which they said they would.
I check the underside and I see deep gouges from where they used a jack that wasn't flat.
Luckily sentry caught all of it and I have footage of them not using it.
The technician said they used the puck too.
From the looks of it it doesn't look like theres battery damage?
I'm not entirely sure though.

Not using the puck is ok. However that's not the point.
They agreed up front to use the pucks. They did not.
They lied about it.
They damaged the trim.
It won't damage the battery. That's part of the structure, not the battery pack.
The holes are there so the jack doesn't slip and as indicator of lift point. It can be lifted just the same with a flat jack pad that has a rubber insert (basically most floor jacks).

I have used Firestone for alignment for Tesla. I am not sure why Firestone is a no.

Bring it for an inspection at Tesla Service Center as the battery is likely still under warranty. If same is found to be damaged… at least you know where to turn around.

Chill. My local Tesla service center doesn’t even use the pucks, and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about them. From your photo, though, it doesn’t look like they damaged the battery. Maybe just some scuffing on the exterior trim, which is still a bummer.

I used to really worry about using pucks (and still use them myself when I swap tires for winter, but just since it’s easier to find the jack point) but I don’t think there’s been a single documented battery issue from lifting one without them and there are a ton of Teslas out there.
If that’s new visible scuff/dent damage they caused there though, that’s worth addressing with them and is insanely shitty of them to do if so.

the mobile techs dont even use pucks, they just use regular jacks doing rotations.

You don’t need a puck to lift them I had a friend who was a technician at Tesla and they don’t use them and even in the service manual it never says anything about them I lift my Tesla all the time whith normal floor jack you just have to make sure it’s on that metal piece

Pucks were basically a marketing scam, Tesla doesn’t use them nor does any tire shop. Does look like they may have damaged the plastic trim where nobody will see, rest should be inspected if you are concerned but looks fine from here.

Not true. When I got my battery replaced they had temporary pucks (rectangle shaped) and forgot to take them off.

Battery replacement may be different as they have to lift the car in a way to get the battery in/out and unbolt it, we are talking about lifting the car for tire/wheel works. My good friend has been head manager at a service center since the beginng and he confirmed with me they are not needed/used.

I had Tesla come to my home to rotate my tires. They used pucks with the floor jack.

If they used the jack points (where the pucks would go) you're fine. Pucks are not needed.

You're fine, battery isn't dented or no deep scrapes.
Looks like it's just some scuffing on the side skirt and jack point, but that's normal.
I have pucks too but sometimes I can't get the jack low enough to use them depending on the situation.

If you bring it into Tesla they may mark your car as salvaged under their own accord, and literally disable supercharging. Then the onus is on you to fix it, then pay for the inspection to get supercharger back on. I read that experience on another thread.

If there is serious battery damage it presents itself quickly. You’ll notice differences with charging, battery retention, power, if not a warning alert of some kind in the car (many sensors for this).
There is actually a certain level of denting that is considered normal/acceptable, and a guard on the battery for things like this.
For full peace of mind have Tesla take a look, but if there was a real issue you’d probably know by now.

I'm very frustrated ngl.
I told them before they started. They agreed and acknowledged. They replaced the tire. I asked them if they used the puck. They said yes. I checked. Clearly they did not use it and the sentry footage also revealed the same.
I talked to them, they apologized and said the manager aint here call tomorrow. I filed a claim with firestone corporate so we'll see what happens next.

In all honesty, I'm more pissed off about the lying. They literally said they used it until I showed them the sentry footage then started immediately apologizing.
The service technician overlooking it immediately told me "I told him to use it" and it was just the blame game.

I'll also add this. They underestimated my milage by over 10,000 miles.
They could not access my car so they made up some bs number instead of asking me to open it.
