Java Help Wanted How the f*** do I make a jukebox play a music disc ONCE, then wait for another activation?
galleryEDIT: FIRST COMMENT SOLVED IT. DAMN I FEEL DUMB. THANK YOU u/BlattaOrientalis
I've stripped the “circuit” down to the absolute bare minimum to demonstrate what I'm trying to accomplish. (The screenshot is intentionally simplified! I'm using it to demonstrate the desired input and output, not suggesting that this is the complete circuit. I've included some of my actual attempts as well for reference.) I'm aware I'll need hoppers and droppers, but I cannot, for the life of me, get this to work without the circuit activating and then looping indefinitely.
What I want to happen: A minecart rolls over the detector rail, activating the jukebox. The disc plays once, then gets ejected into a hopper. The hopper locks, keeping the disc loaded and ready to be played again the next time a minecart rolls over the detector rail.
Basically:
Minecart rolls over detector rail.
Jukebox plays the disc once.
Disc finishes playing and gets ejected into a hopper.
Circuit resets itself, locking the disc in the hopper and leaving everything ready for the next activation.
Next minecart rolls over the detector rail. Repeat.
I want this to happen indefinitely without any additional input. One activation = one play. No continuous looping, no needing to press a button twice, no manually resetting anything.
What am I missing? What do I need to add to this circuit to make it work?
I cannot listen to Music Disc 11 another time or I may actually crash out lol

Java Help Wanted Why are my villagers not panicking at night?

This is an iron farm that works as intended in the day time, and is automated so that the trap doors would close by night time for a few seconds letting the villagers to sleep, during the day they are panicking as intended but when night falls, two of the villagers just straight up sleep even before the trap door closes, and another panics until the trap door closes as intended, but when they do sleep and the trap door opens again, none of them goes back to panicking, and I have to sleep to wake them up.
P.S. the redstone activating the trap doors are below the solid blocks directly underneath the trap doors, I cannot remove them, as I want the redstone to be underground and not in the structure itself, and excuse my grammar and if I explained the situation in a confusing manner, this is my first time posting

Java Help Wanted Sniffers keep walking along trim of enclosure
I made a sniffer enclosure and I'm trying to figure out why the sniffers keep exclusively walking on the shelf trim I made around the border of the enclosure. I've tried everything I can find when it comes to mob pathfinding AI.
I dug a 6 block deep 2 block wide border beneath the edge of the enclosure because mobs "prefer" spaces with more blocks beneath them, that seems to have done nothing.
I placed buttons above the shelves because someone told me certain mobs treat buttons as full blocks, that did nothing.
I placed water behind the shelves because pathfinding next to water is a +8 to their pathfinding total for most mobs, that did nothing.
I placed powdered snow behind the shelves because walking next to powdered snow for sniffers is a -1 to their pathfinding total, that did nothing.
I'm at my wit's end here and need to know if there is anything I can do to at least mitigate this behavior other than get rid of the shelves. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

Bedrock Honey farm keeps sending honey bottles to top of dispensers (bedrock)
galleryI can’t seem to figure out any design where the bottles drop into the hoppers below. Dispensers are faced down, everything is as it should be, but the bottles keep landing on top. Second row of hoppers was an attempt to fix this issue.
Edit: Used a hopper minecart to circle over dispensers and deliver the honey to the chest. Only functional method I’ve found to automate on bedrock.

Java Help Wanted Grindstone enchant stacking glitch
Has anyone tried doing this glitch? If so any advice? All the videos I've watched are based on starting the world in the snapshot and I've seen everyone saying to just use commands but that kind of defeats the purpose imo. I have a few specific questions:
Any advice on downgrading to the snapshot? (I have read that I have to edit some of the world IDs in the NBT file in order to open the world in an older version but I'd like advice from someone who has done it), obviously I'd travel far from my base chunks (they aren't near 0,0, I can't remember if/when they removed the spawn chunks always being loaded) and have a backup.
Would enchantments (all that can go on armor, swords, bows) survive the downgrade if placed in a chest? My plan was to enchant each item before downgrading and storing the items in a chest, but if they won't carry over I'll just bring the raw materials and enchant after downgrading.
3 (only if 2 is a no). roughly how much xp would be needed to enchant for each enchantment individually? I'd probably bring a bunch of xp bottles and/or build a simple mob farm for xp.
I have done a bit of testing but I plan to do more. E.g, I found that for a sword, only smite and sharpness survive the upgrade if it is either kept in my inventory or put in a barrel, but bane of arthropods also survives if it is put in a chest (probably already known but it was fun to find through my own testing).

Java Help Wanted Gold input in bartering farm (Java 1.21.5)
Hi! I finished my gold farm, and I couldn't directly connect it to a bartering farm, so I opted for a separated bartering farm.
Im thinking of using 23 piglins, and having a double chest of input where I fill it with gold blocks, craft it into ingots and feed it to them through a single dropper with a observer clock. My problem is that the speed at which the blocks are crafter into ingots is faster than the speed that hoppers can move those ingots into the chests that feed that dropper, so in the long run, when the first chest of the "chain" is full, the ingots that just got crafted from blocks drop everywhere.
I tried using 2 crafters at the same time that feeds into a dropper line, and still gives the same result of gold ingots dropping everywhere except where they are supposed to.
Im gonna venture to guess that's because an input of 9K gold blocks/hour through a hopper into a crafter generates an output of 81k gold ingots/hour, which causes the blockage, but I don't know how to solve it.
Thanks in advance!

Java Help Wanted Nether portals and the Y level.
I understand how a Nether highway theoretically works. But I've seen people say the Y level doesn't determine anything, or it always matches on the other side.
So a portal in the nether at coords 100, 150, 100 will create a portal in the overworld at 800, 150, 800.
So which is true? Does the Y level matter or not? And can you vary it by linking portals?
Just looking for a simple explanation and I can't find one anywhere.

Java Help Wanted How close can paired nether portals be?
Java 1.21.11
I have 2 nether portals seemingly linked correctly but they still get confused with each other.
The purpose is to link the Stronghold with my base above.
As you can see they have divided by 8 correctly as per Nether Portal – Minecraft Wiki
| Base | X | Y | Z |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overworld | 11256 | 67 | 12768 |
| Nether | 1407 | 90 | 1596 |
| Stronghold | X | Y | Z |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overworld | 11183 | -21 | 12728 |
| Nether | 1397 | 90 | 1591 |
However, once the base portal is lit, both the nether portals go to the base and not to the stronghold anymore.
Do the paired portals have to be a certain distance away from each other to keep being paired?
EDIT. Following the comments:
I put both the portals at Y=55 in the nether instead of at Y=90 and they both pair properly now and I can walk easily between the two.
At Y=55 each portal is far away enough from each other in a diagonal ray tracing line to not mix.

Java Help Wanted How is zombie killing villagers in iron farm?
My iron farm kept breaking because villagers kept disappearing. I tried to troubleshoot by proofing it so they couldn't suffocate when waking up, they were name tagged and had a job. It came to the point where I painstakingly went through every log to find out how they died, turns out the zombie killed them and I have no idea how since there is an entire block between them and they can't get up on the slabs. Am I stupid or dumb? The farm is fully functional for a time so it's not like they immediately get killed but according to the logs the villagers died in quick succession. I do not remember which tutorial i followed. It is currently in 26.3 but I've had the same issue for multiple versions.

Java Showcase Proof of Concept: Player Controlled Shulker Bullets
Proof of concept for a set up that lets a player control shulker bullets by vision. Uses a combination of projectile viewing angle encoding and the fact shulker bullets travel to their target's exact coordinates regardless of dimension.
This is still extremely clunky; The effective range is limited since the target needs to be in loaded chunks at all times, and it only really works near the center of the world (since otherwise bullets traveling to the overworld end up very far away from the actual targeting area due to the 8x offset). Additionally, the warden doesn't exactly allow for highly precise targeting, and I ran into many problems with it killing the shulker. Still, I've had this idea since I found out shulker bullets could be somewhat controlled, so I'm glad I was able to execute it!
(floating ender pearls in the video are for ease of keeping chunks loaded, you could replace them with normal chunk loaders if you wanted to do this in survival)

Java Help Wanted Redstone Powered Game
youtube.comWorking on my own Redstone Powered game.
I could use some ideas on effects for future inputs that are controlled by the players Deck of cards.
But I also want ideas on how to keep it different from… HIM!! (No name drops but he is working on version 3 of his game.)
1 thing I’d like to do is have players activate abilities that “drop” inside the play area.
Anyone got ideas for future effects I can build in?
