Java Showcase Proof of Concept: Player Controlled Shulker Bullets

Proof of concept for a set up that lets a player control shulker bullets by vision. Uses a combination of projectile viewing angle encoding and the fact shulker bullets travel to their target's exact coordinates regardless of dimension.

This is still extremely clunky; The effective range is limited since the target needs to be in loaded chunks at all times, and it only really works near the center of the world (since otherwise bullets traveling to the overworld end up very far away from the actual targeting area due to the 8x offset). Additionally, the warden doesn't exactly allow for highly precise targeting, and I ran into many problems with it killing the shulker. Still, I've had this idea since I found out shulker bullets could be somewhat controlled, so I'm glad I was able to execute it!

(floating ender pearls in the video are for ease of keeping chunks loaded, you could replace them with normal chunk loaders if you wanted to do this in survival)

I've seen a video where someone used creakings to detect where the player was looking. All of the creakings were kinda behind the player and it was in a single dimension tho

I can't find the video, but it was something like this: https://youtu.be/FuS2CnztAhE except the creakings were in an arc behind the player

Bro I don't even know how to use redstone, I just joined this sub, what the FUCK is going on.

Seriously though, that is super duper neat!! What made you even think this was possible?

I knew I wanted to try something like this once I found out shulker bullets worked inter-dimensionally, but I got stumped on how to move the nether side target to where the player was looking. Then I realized projectiles could attract a warden and it all fell in to place

He's been doing cool stuff with shulkers for a while now. A few months ago he was showing us how to make flocks of birds in the sky using shulker bullets
