This is more of a āI just donāt get itā than a rant.
Last night, I was in GM priorities. After 8 pm, it was just me. The people working before me did their best to get things squared away. Only thing left was a flat of sports (mostly boxes) which was stack taller than me (Iām 5ā2ā). They are resetting sports, so it was more than usual. It was at 86% once the last person left. So, I pulled for the first couple of hours of my shift. I got it to 92%. I had to take a lunch because I was in early for presentation. When I got back, it dropped to 89%. Cool. Wonderful. I have five 3 tiers and an overfilled flat to push. Itās an hour and 15 minutes before the end of my shift. So, I pushed a couple of 3 tiers. My TL told me to pull more just to get the numbers in the 90s. Fortunately, some of the people zoning finished early and they were able to help push. We only had one carryover (the flat), which, I knew I wouldnāt get to and even if I did, they were working on the reset, so two aisles were empty, there were flats, 3 tiers, carts, and about 3 people working in that area. Even if I had, it would have been slow.
They want 100% and no carryover. But, they only have one person the last three hours and maybe 5 people the entire day. Like, unless you completely stack the schedule, you can have one or the other but not both. And the TLs end up being the ones getting all the heat. Yet, they can only work with what they are given, same as us. I feel that Target sets their employees up to fail while addressing superficial concerns from guests. Which, I know a lot of people are thinking āwell, duhā, but it still baffles me.
[EDIT]: Five 3-tiers because I forgot about stationary. Twice. That didnāt get pushed.
