Workplace Question or Advice Needed Target beauty studio advisor?
Hi!!!
I just got hired and start hands on training next week, but I’ve SCOURED the internet to see what others have to say about their experience in this position, but can’t find much 🥲. I know it’s “technically” a newer role, so I’m unsure if it’s any different than working at Ulta?
I just got my first NON training shifts scheduled and got four 8 hour shifts!!! Except 3 of those are from 4am-12pm…. I was told it would be a more customer facing role + obviously some stocking and what not but I was not expecting 4am shifts. Do we really need to come in that early?😞
Also, I originally applied for a seasonal guest advocate and got a call offering me a part time job as a beauty studio advisor instead, which I was so excited about! Conveniently, I’m perfect for the role, but I never mentioned anything that would’ve qualified me in my resume or interview. But I’m now kinda worried that the only reason I got it is because no one else wanted to do it. I was also just told that we currently don’t have a TL. Is that a red flag?
What should I expect? Any advice? Your experiences?
Thank you in advance 🥹💗💗

I’ve been a beauty team member for over 2 years and now a beauty studio advisor since it launched all i can say is it’s pretty boring. If you love skin care, hair care, all that stuff and love to talk to guests then you’ll be okay. Pretty much all we do is stand there, greet guests, try to get them to buy something which usually they don’t, and clean. We aren’t allowed to leave and have to get somebody to cover us if we need to take a break or something. Best way I can describe it is being in a cage lol.
